Here's what we ate: Duck Garlic Noodle 4.5*, $19.99 duck meat with springy egg noodles, tossed in garlic pepper sauce. with melted cheese, bean sprouts, and lots of garlic: A lot like chow mein, but the noodles have a great chew. Lots of delicious duck pieces. The only draw back for me was that the melted cheese was out of place. I don't know if it is traditional or not. Assam Aubergine Malay 5*, $21.99 Grilled Chinese eggplant topped with hot-and-sour tamarind sauce. This was excellent. I think it was grilled because there was a great smoky background note. Crispy Tofu 5* , $17.99 crispy tofu, Shiitake mushrooms, carrots, and scallion sauce. Our favorite of the lunch. Very earthy, but a bit sweet and salty. Flavor combination that's unique and difficult to describe. The kitchen's timing was a little off, so sometimes they were slow and sometimes fast, but they're just getting their sea legs and we weren't in a hurry. All the servers were very pleasant and the owner came out to talk to us. Menlo Park is a good halfway point for me to meet people from the South Bay. We will be back.
