I was excited to try new Canton restaurant when I saw they had a variety of plant based items! I ordered sesame tofu but I was disappointed. It seems like it was made from something other than tofu and the texture was very mushy. It was hard to get past that! That's the only dish I've tried so likely the other menu items are much better. It's in a cute location in downtown San Carlos and they have indoor seating with a smoothie bar as well.

On the left is wonton with chili sauce and on the left is Singaporean rice noodles.

Good service and ambiance. There are varieties of food but too sweet for my liking. The portions are large for Chinese food.

I was only able to try a few dishes, the wonton soup and prawn chow mein. The soup was very hearty and warm. The chow mein was more on the oilier side but still good. Both dishes lacked some flavor but it was doable. Service was quick, they had the food ready super quickly within 15 minutes and we live a block away from this place. We had take out so maybe it would have been different if we stayed to eat there.

Very delicious Basil Chicken and Chow mean!l lunch, with hot & sour soup, a small salad. The Thai Ice Tea is also very good!

Small & clean restaurant, recommended by the footwear clinic nearby. I ordered from their lunch menu and I was in awe of how good the food was and also a very good portion. Will come back with friends from San Mateo to visit this little gem I found.

Salt and pepper boneless chicken over fried rice.

Best salt and pepper chicken I've tasted yet! Service is great and restaurant is very clean will be coming back again.

They do not skimp on the food at all. They pack the box to the brim so much that it's insane. You can literally feel the weight of the contents. At the lunch combo prices, it's ridiculous how much value this is. Easy 2 meals if you wanted to, especially if you drink water on the side. Lunch Combo E - fried rice, sweet and sour pork, broccoli beef, and crab rangoon. So much meat with an okay amount of vegetables, I was full for so long. Taste was solid too - nice and fast Chinese food slightly more authentic than a Panda Express. I was thoroughly impressed.

i ordered prawn chowmein aside from being too oily, it lack taste and i did not see a prawn in my chow mein yet you call these prawn chowmein.

    When I ordered.

I order some food at DoorDash in 2.04pm, but they canceled my order after 30 min, even they still not closed yet my the store hours. I have no idea why they doing something like that and very confused if they don't want ppl order online why they still open for that. They didn't call to say sorry or anything and wasted more than 30 minutes of my time, it was infuriating, when they decided to cancel the order my doordash driver had already arrived at the store, they realized they didn't want to complete the order. So if anyone want to do the online or take out Order maybe u can pick some another store :)

The waiter was attentive & kind, plus the restaurant wasn't too busy but even for eating around 3:45, there was a lot more than I expected. The restaurant is a simple ambiance but overall it's nice to sit and dine in. I would definitely suggest this spot for anyone seeking Chinese food that'll satisfy your craving.

And an order of potstickers. First off , it's very expensive. But everything is now . For wonton soup, 4 potstickers , 1 kung pao, 1 sweet and sour pork, fried rice and a side order of potstickers it was almost $80 . The actual entrees were really good ( sweet and sour pork, kung pao chicken) service was friendly and fast . BUT I have been searching Redwood City, San Carlos , Belmont and surrounding areas for a decent potsticker. Sadly to no avail. Oddly enough the best potstickers are at cache creek casino over an hour away at Chang Shou. This place is no different. Their potstickers were undercooked perogies. Not sure they know what a potsticker is around here. Most places mislabel by calling them gyosa, or dumplings, or even buns. A good potsticker is firm, well cooked and as close to burnt on the bottom as you can get without actually causing a char. They are not ....wet, soggy, doughy, or a straight up undercooked pork bun. I would come back for the entrees but it's just too expensive.

Recently I stopped to pick-up dinner with the plan to have leftovers. I called my order in and was quoted 40 minutes for my order to be ready. My order consisted of salted fish and chicken fried rice (this location has the best around SF and the peninsula), bitter melon beef, chicken chow mein, Thai style fried vermicelli (my favorite dish here), salt and pepper chicken wings. We also received a complimentary bbq pork fried rice. Everything was fantastic and we had plenty of leftovers for a few days.

Big won ton filled w pork and shrimp. Bok choy Broth not much flavor, in a separate container since this was a take-home order. Curry Beef Stew I've never had Curry beef stew before, prefer chicken, curry, but for some odd reason, I decided to order this dish. It was underwhelming and I won't order it again. The Curry sauce itself was OK but the big long pieces of beef were somewhat gross, lots of fat. They added plenty of slices to onions and a few pieces of green pepper and Julienned carrots, but that's about it for being called a stew. So I learned my lesson by not sticking to my usual order, and won't order wonton soup or curry beef stew again.

Homemade Soy Milk - 1/5 I think ordering this at dinnertime when the soy milk has been cooking all day was a mistake. It looked fine, but it tasted burned. When I brought attention to it, the server said it was supposed to be that way, denying it was burned and awkwardly joking about it afterward. Unsweetened, so you need to add sugar yourself. Soft Tofu - 4/5 Soft tofu, wood ear, golden needles (daylily buds) in a thickened soup. Looks a bit like hot & sour soup in appearance and texture, but it's neither spicy nor sour. In a few spoonfuls, the soft tofu did taste burned to me, but I could overlook it mostly. Comforting to eat on a cold day. Chive Pie - 3/5 Impressively huge. However, because they are big, thin, and flimsy, you cannot easily eat this as a handheld. Not crispy or thick enough a pancake to hold the delicious eggs & chives filling. Cumin Lamb - 3/5 My friend seemed to enjoy the lamb, but she didn't eat any of the greens, telling me they were for seasoning purposes. I ate the greens, but this dish came out fast and wasn't warm or heated enough. Beijing Mu Shu Pork - 5/5 I enjoyed the taste and texture of this mix of pork, egg, wood ear, cucumber, and golden needles. We were forewarned that this dish doesn't come with pancakes, like typical mu shu entrees do. We received a complimentary shredded potato chilled appetizer (4/5) and warm sesame balls dessert (3/5). Sesame balls seemed overfried. Restaurant has its own dedicated parking lot, so servers are expecting you to enter from the door closest to that. We entered through the street main entrance, which caught them by surprise. Restaurant appears to be a converted house, so you can dine in various little rooms. Restaurant was cold inside. It seemed that one door would not necessarily stay shut. I also don't think the heat was turned up. I felt like all of us were wearing coats. I chose most of the dishes and let my friend order in Mandarin Chinese. The chef came out a couple times to check on us, but primarily interacted with her in Chinese.

My server/waiter was an older gentleman. He offered me a table by the window. The table setting was very thoughtful. They offer chopsticks, but there's also a fork and knife wrapped in a red cloth napkin. They gave me ice water, but I also asked for hot tea. King Chuan has a detailed menu, with several dishes having a brief description. I ordered Wor Won Ton Soup. I asked for dark meat chicken only. They said "no problem." The Wor Won Ton Soup was very good. The soup had napa cabbage, carrots and broccoli. The chicken was tender and easy to eat. It also had pieces of beef and a few shrimp. The broth was light, and not salty. I also ordered the "Hot Dragon Chicken Wings." With a name like that, I expected very spicy wings. The wings were not spicy at all. In fact, I had to add salt to bring the flavor out. I was puzzled as to why these fried chicken wings have a mild flavor if they're served with spicy seasonings. I guess I was expecting something else. Overall, a nice experience. I would come back. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Street parking Also, Toot Sweet frozen yogurt is a few doors away.
