The restaurant has so many options to make selections for your food. I have been in a couple of times and always have enjoyed the food that I have selected. Everytime there has been a line to wait to order your food. The employees have kept the line moving quickly. The food is always fresh and so tasty. Everything that I have order has always been good both right when I got home and later the next day. From what I have observed the atmosphere of the restaurant is typical. It isn't super loud but also isn't super quiet. I think I would enjoy eating in the restaurant however I'm normally in the mood to head home. Came here the day after Christmas and the restaurant was still pretty busy, which is always a good sign. We ordered the chicken lemon rice soup, lentil soup, chicken bowl, and the fatoush salad; everything was excellent! The chicken lemon rice soup was perfectly lemony and comforting, and the lentil soup had a great depth of flavor with warm spices. I would give this place 6 stars if I could. They just keep putting out delicious food quickly at a reasonable price. Plus, your meal is highly configurable. You can choose your base (rice, bulgur wheat, or lettuce) and your protein (I like the falafel but there are meat options, too) and add lentils, hummus, and any number of cold veggies as you please in either a pita or a bowl. I was asked what I was hungry for and when I said something that was in a bowl, like a layered veggie protein bowl, someone recommended Chickpea Kitchen! We packed in the company car and zipped down the road a mile to just what I wanted...a veggie bowl layered with all the veg and protein anyone could want! The service model is a middle eastern version of Chipotle, where you go up to the counter and order what you'd like in a wrap or a bowl. I really like getting the salad bowls and topping it off with grilled chicken and fried pita chips. They also have sauces you can add on top, and I always opt for the garlic. Went there after almost two years of my last visit. I remembered it as a delicious, affordable place with incredibly garlicky garlic sauce. Like the strongest garlic flavor toy can imagine. Now, during these 2 years I had a chance to try many other build-your-own places with Lebanese, middle eastern food and maybe this is the reason why I got so disappointed. The good things: the prices are still very low, and the garlic sauce i crazy strong. The meh things: the bowl was very small, the majority of it were the grains. Very little chicken with very little flavor, the red pepper hummus was very bland and watery. Not so many veggies too. The end result was a very dry bowl with mostly wheat, lack of flavor overpowered by garlic sauce. On the second bowl we had a beef kafta, and that was the best part of the entire meal, very flavorful and made to order (we had to wait about 10 minutes). Overall, I won't be back, there are so many other places with much better food, and I prefer to pay a little more but at least have a good meal. read more

I got a steak bowl with cracked wheat (so excited for this option) cilantro hummus (they had 3 kinds), all the fresh veggies ( lettuce, tomato, spinach, onion, pickle, picked turnips, jalapenos, peppers, chickpeas,) and garlic and tahini sauce. Prices are around 5 bucks for each even with paying more for steak. You can make a meal for 2.99 which i did by adding lentil soup and a drink. Price was under 20 for 2 people. Food was hot, and fresh. 5/5 Portions 5/5 Service was quick and prompt. You are just going thru the line. 5/5 Price was great! 5/5 Atmosphere. Its a new interior with wall decals. She ran us through how it worked, the veggies she recommends, the meats she recommends, all that. My carni friend went with a meaty bowl, he thoroughly enjoyed. My falafel pita turned into a crazy delicious wrap. They gave healthy portions of the veggies and protein, wrapped it up tight, and it was hot and fresh, quickly, for cheap. My personal wrap had some spots stick to the wrapper, but I couldn't complain. One thing I noticed was when I informed the young lady they were out of soap in the mens room, and her face. Lives up to the hype on Yelp! Middle Eastern version of Subway comes to mind. I'm definitely a believer now. My wife had a bowl and I had a pita but ingredients were almost the same. I went for Chicken Shwarma and Cracked Wheat and almost all of the fresh veggies they have. Didn't miss having waiter service at all. Everything was delicious as we were expecting. And we bought some extra garlic sauce to take home for who knows what... Back for more-this was our second Five-Star experience today (lunch at Ernie's). Let me break it down for you: Step one: Choose a wrap or a bowl Step two: Pick a meat (the chicken shawarma and chicken cream chop were both very flavorful! My personal fav was the chicken shawarma- it had great charred/grilled flavor) Step three: Pick either: a bed of rice, grilled veggies, or cracked bulgar wheat. (This also gets stuffed into the wraps- even if you choose rice) Step four: Sauce it! They have homemade ranch, hot sauce, tahini, and garlic sauce. I recommend getting the ranch and garlic. It's super good Step five: Pick a hummus, any hummus! Roasted red pepper, original, and my personal favorite jalapeño cilantro! Step six: Toppings! Just pick any and all the veggies you want! Step seven: Take your first bite and watch your life change. This place was magical. The food was very fresh, and not to mention VERY affordable. One bowl or one wrap is only $4.49!!!! Even the shittiest fast food place is more expensive than that and this is fresh and healthy! Only complaint (and not by me) is that the hummus is on the thinner side. Rather than it being a thick paste it was almost like a thick dressing.
