I read most of the reviews and saw that they were a reliable, fast, easy to talk to service. When I brought my computer to the shop I met with Chandler and I told him my problem. The problem with my computer was that it was making this grinding noise precisely where the CPU fan was, there was also a small instance of smoke that came out of my computer but it wasn't anything major. After I was finished explaining the issues I had to wait around a week to get my computer back which was fine, I understand how busy the shop can get. However when I received the call for my computer, I was charged for software repair which came up to be $125. Everything was fine and I went ahead and picked it up. Chandler said that there weren't any issues and that he just needed to do some software repair/updates. When I brought it home it wasn't making that grinding noise at all, great, BUT the next day the problem came back, it randomly started making that awful noise again only 4 hours home. I was really looking forward for them to fix this but Instead I didn't get anything fixed but 'software updates', there was nothing else wrong with my computer, I've had it for a long time. read more

My partner and I stopped by today to figure out why his computer had stopped connecting to any networks and he had some urgent work stuff to get finished. Tried all the usual trouble shooting and with no network we couldn't try any updates. My partner had been to this spot before and had good experiences, so he thought maybe someone could help. We went in and talked to the guy who was working and it turns out the immediate problem was simple and he fixed it on the spot - no waiting. My partner pulled out his wallet to pay but the guy told us that it was simple and not to worry about it. There were a couple of other longer term issues that couldn't be solved in the two hours before the shop closed for the weekend and we left on Monday (go figure), but if the timing had been better we would have absolutely left the computer there. There is nobody like these guys. They seem like a couple of dudes you would know and love from high school. I work at the University and took my macbook air to the University bookstore. They said they couldn't fix it and that I needed to go the Apple Store in Roseville. Instead, I decide to see what the boys at Chico Computer Clinic had to say about it. Richard says he thinks he has the part I need and starts looking through old computers he has laying around and finds the part, slaps it in, and I'm on my way in 30 minutes. Got a virus on my MacBook Air to the point where I would log into my account but it wouldn't go past the loading point in the photo attached. I could've easily just done a hard restart myself but then that would mean losing all my photos and documents. I would give Kyle 6 starts if I could. My computer was angry to say the least and Chico Computer repair popped up on Yelp with stellar reviews; now I know why. Kyle, who is the owner, was very easy to talk to and and was very up front with cost immediately. He updated me very quickly after his diagnosis and fast tracked the repair since I was only in town for a few days. The price was incredibly fair and now my laptop seems faster (placebo?) How fast was the turnaround? 2:07pm - Called to ask if they could fix my MacBooks screen (totally cracked and clouded over 50% of the screen - had been bugging me for months, finally decided enough was enough) 3:01pm - Brought the computer in for them to take a look - they told me they would call to get the part delivered and would let me know when it got in. 5:45pm - got a call that the part GOT IT and if I could get the computer there by 6pm, they could work on it and get it back to me the next day 6:45pm - got a call that even though the shop was closed, Jeremy was still in the shop and the computer is DONE. So - after suffering for 5 months, my problem was fixed in less than 5 hours. Oh, and the price, 20% LESS than I was quoted from anybody else. They have won my respect, adoration and business. This place is brand-spankin' new, and the owner/operator has youthful entrepreneurial energy! It's brand new and already BUSY, because this man does a great job, does it quickly and at a good price. He worked for the Geek squad previously, so he has a lot of experience. Took my laptop to Nerds on Call (who, by the way, have a 5 star rating on Yelp because they wrote their own review :). The guy was friendly, but was going to have to send my laptop to either Sacramento or Oregon to the tune of $159 deposit just to open it up. He said NOC wouldn't let him open a laptop. Too "tricky." If they don't send it out, NOC STARTS at a flat fee of $129. Seriously? We both knew it was the power button. Kyle, on the other hand, will look at your computer for free. He opened it up, cleaned it out, fixed the wiring to the power button, and worked his tune-up magic (seriously tuned this thing up) for only $79. I got my laptop back the next morning! My clean keys click away in a a way I didn't even know they could, and my machine runs like it's new. So fast! Dropped off my PC with them and they had it for about a month and couldn't "figure it out" they didn't call me either I just got tired of waiting and went and picked it up AND THEN they give me my pc back MISSING THE GRAPHICS CARD, and then the icing on the cake my back panel fell off because they didn't put any of the screws back in it as I had to go back down to their store to get my stuff back. I don't live in Chico, CA, however, my 93 year old father does. Several times we have used CCC to repair & update computers for my father. We even purchased a refurbished laptop for my daughter from them. We have had the best service and never had any problems. Recently I was visiting my father and my work laptop started giving me problems - plus I needed it updated to Windows 10. Took it in (only had a couple days there in Chico) and they upgraded my computer to Windows 10, cleaned up the hard drive, and fixed my problem very quickly for just the cost of the update. They even said they would extend the warranty if I had any problems since I am only in Chico about every 2 months. Wish they had the business in my hometown! Even though I did not get my repair done here, this company was super great. My laptop was broken and they were one of the only places offering to do a free diagnostic. One day after bringing in my laptop, they told me what was going on and how much the repair would be. They told me that it was an expensive repair since my whole screen was broken, and the best idea would be for me to go through warranty instead. I felt this was the right thing for a company to do since I did not feel like they were pushing me to get my repair there. If I ever have another problem, I will be going back here.
