I had a routine eye exam here and found out that I have a risk for glaucoma(sp?) and needed some extra tests. The wait was long, but most of it (about 40 minutes) was waiting for my eyes to dilate. Even though this wasn't my first eye exam (it was my first here) I'd never been dilated before! Everything was explained to me and I felt very comfortable with my doctor. I found out after the fact that I have some family members with glaucoma, so it is a good thing I got checked and had my eyes dilated. The staff were friendly and helpful. I have gone here for several years now. The doctors are amazing, parking is something less than desirable. The last time I called for an appointment I felt as thou they were being a little pushy asking if I wanted to "schedule any other appointments while they had me on the phone". Maybe they are trying to drum up more business, who knows? Checked in, had a bit of a wait but I expect that at any doctors office. At the end it seemed like the girl was unsure of herself. She left me to ask someone how much I owed (if you don't know, maybe you shouldn't be taking money from people). Then had the nerve when we finished to tell me go leave a review on yelp. I asked if she gets credit for that? And she said yes, leave your positive review, my name is Maria. Well Maria, here I am. You are nice enough, but slow and unsure of what you are doing. All in all the visit was good, but please be a little less pushy about the appointments and leaving a yelp! If I want to make more than one appointment, I will tell you and be careful about encouraging people to yelp if you aren't doing a 5 star job. read more

I'm a new patient so no expectations. I was pleasantly surprised. The appointment was easy to set up within two weeks, for my annual review. The staff from the front desk to the technician to the sales staff were very professional. Dr. Warne was very attentive to my needs, my history and my questions. He went out of his way to get a test pair of contacts. The order for my glasses was filled in just two days! I'm willing to pay a little more for the great service. My only comment is the parking as it's tough to find and the spaces are small around the complex. Overall, I'm very happy with my new eye doctor. read more

Be sure to inspect the quality of your glasses before leaving. My husband picked his up and came home happy. I looked at him and saw a scratch on one of the lenses. I called immediately and they said to come back so they could inspect them. Went back right away and the manager took a look. He said "we can't refund these as you left the store. He must have done something that scratched the lense." How in the world do you place your glasses on your face inside the store, drive home, and get a scratch in the inside lense? Yes the scratch was on the inside not the exterior. After throwing a complete fit someone else pulled me in the back office and offered to pay for half of the cost to replace the lense. Since we couldn't "prove" that we didn't purposely scratch the lense ourselves we were stuck with this option. Now we have a brand new pair of scratched trifocals. We had been going there for six years but not anymore. It's too bad as we really liked the doctors. read more

We took my daughter there because they were recommended by a coworker. My 13 year old has been wearing glasses for 3 years already but the last of two pairs were not working well any more. She told Dr. Houlihan that she could not focus on the chalkboard in class and that words in a book moved around on the page with no glasses on. The doctor sent us home and stated that my daughter did not need glasses. We went to a different eye doctor and his findings were the opposite. When using some of his test glasses she was able to see and read properly and see at a distance similar to the distance to the chalkboard in class. Her new glasses are on the way but we had to pay cash for the visit because our insurance will only pay for one visit annually. Chico Eye Center was all flash and no substance for us. Make sure you get in writing what ever the receptionist tell you. I liked my DR but will not be going back because I felt I was mislead bu the receptionist and they Did Nothing About It when I had a witness of what she told me. I've been a loyal customer for over 10 years and they lost my wife and I over $15. It's not about the money $15 is not going to make me or brake me it's about the point that I would not be charged a co pay for the recheck that was done 2 weeks prior and I paid the copay then but couldn't do the exam. I guess the Dr would want to know why his office received a bad word, but the staff was just as rude as the Dr. Specifically the front office people of the time were rude to myself and my mom. The people behind the counter were rude to us both and stood very close to one another, as if they were united in there dislike of certain patients, possibly some kind of perceived notions maybe, I do not know nor do I care why, I know how we were treated. I purchased frames with polycarbonate lenses in March of 2016, lots of money even with insurance. Weeks after purchasing, the left lens developed what I thought was a scratch. I've dropped my glasses before, I thought I had done so again. The mark on the lens began to expand into many other scratch looking like marks over the next 12 months. Finally, after not being able to see through the lens properly, I decided to go back in and get the lens replaced. The lady who serviced me told me that at about the time I purchased the frames and lenses back in 2016, they had a known issue with the polycarbonate or whatever it is that they apply to the lenses, and that others had brought their lenses back in. She told me that had I brought them back in soon after discovering the marks, they would have replaced them no charge, and because I waited 12 months, I would have to pay out of pocket, $450, to have them replaced. They did allow a 30% discount because of their mistake, so I paid $350 instead of the $450. Their error. Admitted to me by the employee. Whether I came back in 1 month or 12 months after the purchase, they should have replaced the lenses free of charge. I wrote a letter to management, of course no reply.
