My out-of-town Aunt, ordered a flower arrangement for me on my 80th birthday. This was funny and very nice at the same time, seeing as i am a guy and no one, no one has ever gifted me "flowers". My first experience with this shop, recommended by a local. Although we may have gotten off to a slightly rocky start, I've been impressed. I'm in So Cal, but wanted to send a welcome/housewarming gift to my parents who were moving to a senior living place in Chico. I figured it would be good to establish a relationship with a local place for future birthdays & events. The young lady who helped me place my order on Friday was very friendly and helpful. It felt like she knew just what I had in mind. We scheduled for a Monday delivery, and I waited to hear my mom's excitement on Monday afternoon. But the arrangement didn't make it as planned. When I called to ask what happened, they were very apologetic. The shop owner herself called me on her day off after researching her records to find out what had happened. Not one person acknowledged me or even greeted me, even with three employees working on arrangements, less than 10 feet from where I stood. I was very happy with everything that Krista, at Chico Florist, did for our special day. She was so flexible and so willing to work with my ideas, even if they seemed a little odd. I appreciate that she was willing to give me the freedom to be a DIY bride and still help in the areas I knew I couldn't handle by myself. The bridesmaid's bouquets and my bridal bouquet were the perfect combination of flowers and I enjoyed showcasing them in all of our photos. The terrace at the wedding looked beautiful, and the boys were able to hang up the swag without any issues, due to her detailed tutorial. She supplied me with enough floral to fill the antique bottles on our guest tables and much more. We actually had enough to decorate some of the specialty tables, which we were not expecting. I emailed Krista in February for my wedding in September and it did take me 3 weeks to get back to her which is my fault after her first email back to me. After a couple emails back and forth I told her what I needed on March 22nd and never heard back from her. I have never been married before so didn't know I should of been expecting an email back, I just trusted I was on her books. My MOH emailed her about my flowers this last week and she emailed back saying she never heard from me so she figured I didn't want her service and that she was already busy that weekend anyways. I emailed her back the night my MOH received that email having no understanding why I was dropped as a customer explaining and showing her that I had emailed her back in March with the answers to questions she had. Her rebuttal back was "120 days is a long time to not communicate with someone you think you have booked but never have put a deposit down, received a quote or followed up with". I'm mind blown that I was blamed for this when I had emailed her back, and me as the bride was the one that never got an email back from her. Last night I realized I am 60 days away from my wedding with no florist. She did apologize but after the 120 days comment and also saying "I typically get a lot more communication from brides that are interested in booking." I was so pleased with the excellent customer service I received from Chico Florist! I live in Illinois and wanted to do something special for my niece who got the starring role in the Pleasent Valley High School performance of Macbeth. As a freshmen, this is a very big deal for her. I'm embarrassed that this review was for an order from Chico Florist back in October 2016, but sometimes life gets in the way. My brother-in-law was seriously injured in an accident & was evacuated by helicopter to the trauma center in Chico. I made several attempts over the next several days to send a combination floral & fruit/snack basket to him so that my sister would not have to leave his bedside & would have healthy items to eat. I spoke to many florists advertised online as being in Chico, but in reality, they were all services that make calls to the real local florists to place orders. I finally reached one service that actually was up front with me about that when I explained what I wanted. Their representative gave me a few numbers for local Chico florists that her business regularly calls & said I would be much better accommodated if I called directly. The first one I called told me they were very short handed & they would not be able to send anyone out to purchase fruit, but suggested I call Chico Florist & ask for Krista, saying they knew her personally, she had a wonderful reputation, & they knew I would be happy with what she would do. When I called Chico Florist, Krista was away, but the lady I spoke to could not have been nicer or more attentive. They sent someone out to purchase a variety of fruits, cheeses, crackers, nuts, etc. My sister said everything was in perfect condition & of outstanding quality. The clerk selected a plant that could later be transplanted into my brother-in-law's beautiful garden. I requested that a balloon bouquet also be sent. I got a call back from her letting me know that the hospital would not allow any latex balloons, but they could do additional Mylar balloons in place of the latex. Not only did she call me throughout the day to let me know the progress of the order, she photographed everything and sent texts to my cell phone so that I could see what I was purchasing.
