Yesterday I posted a very critical post about my succulent dish garden I tried to erase it after the Red Hen people surprised me with a replacement but I don't think I could I will further try to. But I am kind of bed bound in a rehabilitation hospital. I have been this way since October 14 2025. The story is I have been a florist my self since the 80's. I also had 2 shops of my own. I was the first to be hired at Raley's here in Red Bluff..back then it was allowed to be run like a real flower shop, not like now where they do so much ready made, worked for them 17 years.Well I digress from main topic here. Anyway I grow succulents and design container and dish gardens. So I was tired of fresh flowers dying so I ordered myself a succulent arrangement. I was very disappointed and called the shop and complained. That was I thought end of story. Well later in afternoon when I was wheeled back from physical therapy I was surprised and delighted to see a very beautiful succulent garden that I love! Ordered my wife an arrangement of daisies for our Anniversary. Daisies are a favorite of ours. I was even shown two types of daisies, choosing the typical white petals with yellow center. BEWARE if you plan to rent from Little Red Hen for your wedding. We found them at a bridal fair showing their large lighted LOVE letters. These were perfect for our daughters wedding! We booked them easily and that was the end of our good experience with them. Prior to the wedding, communication was completely difficult as we were given the run around between their 7 locations and we were just trying to pay our balance due. Finally got that finished. The first problem was when the LOVE letters were delivered to our venue the day before our wedding, the delivery men were so terribly rude to the bride that our best man wanted to step in and ask them to leave. The second and biggest problem was a bulb was out on the letter "O" and could not be fixed or replaced. There were no replaced bulbs with the letters, which is quite unbelievable. So four people unscrewed it, cleaned the receptacle, etc. to no avail. All of our guest pictures with these letters in them look ridiculous and they are unwilling to rectify the situation. My advice is to NOT rent these letters from Little Red Hen because there is no care taken to ensure if something goes wrong it can be fixed on site and they are awful to deal with. Such a shame for a 501(c)3 whose proceeds benefit a charity to conduct themselves in this manner. They should remember their mission and hold themselves to a higher standard! read more

My mom had called in to order an arrangement to be sent to me here in Chico for my birthday on MONDAY. Today is the Friday before that MONDAY and they delivered it today! She paid good money to have a descent size arrangement made and yet the one I received(on the wrong day) was super small and the flowers/roses were already dying and bruised. I can't believe this place doesn't have a review yet!! I LOVE this place. They have tons of really cute unique kitchen items, funny magnets, cool stuff for capcakes, and tons of really cute kid stuff like lunch boxes, kid friendly kitchen tools etc. They also have some beautiful stoneware, pots, pans etc. It is a really fun place to go if you love anything to do with the kitchen!! I also appreciate that this business, along with the Little Red Hen gift shop on 20th and the Little Red Hen Nursery are all geared towards teaching developmentally disabled adults job and life skills... it is inspiring to know that there are business and people in our community who believe a human can be a valuable part of the community whether they are "normal" (what is normal anyways???) or if they're rockin an extra chromosome or livin' life on the spectrum. read more

Very poor service. Arrangement was supposed to be delivered on Sunday, Mother's Day. After a phone call, it was delivered on Friday, 5 days late. What?! Someone obviously made a boo-boo. Don't order from them unless you don't care if it's very, very late. read more

I have had multiple arrangements done by Angela at The Little Red Hen. Her and her staff are always welcoming, friendly, and always do a wonderful job on the arrangements weather I phone in the order or walk in and order in person. The shop is really cute and lots of neat stuff to look at. Recently I have had them do a "Welcome New Baby" arrangement for my niece who just born, of sunflowers & roses. It was so pretty. I have had them do arrangements for my office, sympathy, birthday, welcome baby and get well arrangements over the years for friends, family and clients. Even when I don't really know what I want in an arrangement I just tell Angela about who the arrangement is for, mu budget, and what the occasion is for the flowers is and they take care of me. They are my go to florist and I always recommend them to anyone who asks. Angela has a great passion for flowers and she loves sharing that with her staff. The Little Red Hen's floral shop was an absolute GODSEND! I was feeling so overwhelmed with planning all the details of our wedding and the staff at the floral shop was SO HELPFUL. They sat down with us on several occasions to go over what we wanted and what we needed. Our colors were blue, purple and green - kind of a strange request, but the staff here dyed all the orchids personally. We got everything we needed, fresh and on time. The store is incredible and the amount of items they have is fantastic. They have everything from sauces to cook books to utensiles to cookware and even great gifts for a younger cook. The staff are extremely helpful and it is alwasy a pleasant shopping experience. Even for me, a person that does not like shop. Awesome selection and super helpful/friendly staff. we were looking for a greeting card and were glad to accidentally stumble across this place. I guess they provide job assistance for the autistic. Great selection of baby gifts, kid's toys, cooking utensils, décor. I could have stayed for hours but I had to settle for my kamikaze style of shopping. When the clerk found out the items were a gift, she did an awesome wrapping job. My only advice is to have more options of greeting cards. Cant wait to visit their other sister stores that focis on furniture and gardening. read more

This review is for angela of little red hen. She is amazing! We love her so much. We just had our wedding and they absolutely did a great job. Angela is very nice, she's a sister in Christ. We showed her few pictures from pinterest and she was able to make my bouquet prettier than the picture I gave her. She's very confident and she knows what she's doing. She suggests things to make it cheaper for the client and she even offered her own blessings for the wedding for free. She even decorated the wedding ceremony for us. Went to their booth at the Bridal Show this past weekend because my best friend is planning her wedding and really is only still in need of a florist. We loved the idea of using this vendor and the gorgeous display that they had up was perfectly in line with the color scheme and look of her wedding. However, when I approached the woman who had been happily answering everyone else's questions she completely blew me off. I kindly and enthusiastically wanted to find out more about their services and got nothing but terrible attitude, sour one word answers, and BLATANT disrespect in return. Her over-exaggerated and inexplicably angry and exasperated tone was as if I had been standing there all day annoying them (though I had literally just gotten there and they were the first booth we wanted to see) and she wouldn't even look at me but looked around me and over me as if I was taking the spot of a real customer. My friend's jaw dropped as she watched the encounter. Needless to say she decided to go with someone else for her big day- which she was kind of bummed about considering Little Red Hen had been one of her first choices, and their display would have been a perfect fit. read more

From all the other good reviews, I'm guessing they just had a bad day or something because I recently received an arrangement and it was probably one of the worst I've ever seen. The roses were all open, making them last no more than 2 days and the other flowers were totally bruised. I deff would not send an arrangement out like that. read more
