Really enjoyed my eats here. I should mention that I'm not a major taco fan but damn, these were really good tacos! The atmosphere here is really welcoming. The place is painted white with lots of bright popping colors, lots of natural light due to all the windows and a lil skylight, and fun Mexican music playing overhead and yeah, the tacos were GREAT! I really wanted to LOVE this place when I first walked in. Verdict: I liked it. Why I wanted to love it: the vibes. It is SUCH a fun space - super colorful with lovely wall art and festive seating with lots of natural light. Blasting upbeat music, too. I think it's such a nice celebration of Mexican culture! The people working here were very sweet as well! If you forgot you were in Raleigh, you might imagine you're at a beach side restaurant when you first set foot in here. They have a main restaurant area with a corner bar plus an amazing selection of Mexican glass bottle drinks, snacks, and candy! Yum. Why I really liked it instead: The chips were just OK. Lightly seasoned with salt, but nothing special. I also love esquites, but instead of making them fresh and warm, they had them sitting already boxed as a quick side item in the front. The chicken tacos I got were delicious, though, and seasoned super well. Small-ish in size for $3 each. You do get to pick your salsas, lime, cilantro etc at a little condiment bar in the corner which is awesome. Holly made a good point below about them not wrapping up your to-go food for you. Mine was in an aluminum container with no lid, and I ended up just eating it quickly before heading out. The tacos were okay, my husband is Mexican & he wasn't impressed. I will say I have gone to a lot other places that tasted better & cheaper. Love this little taco place. Tacos are typical street style tacos with an awesome toppings/ salsa bar to customize your tacos however you want. We tried the chicken, steak and al pastor and although all 3 were great the al pastor were by far our favorite. Make sure you get a side order of esquites- it was to die for! The place has a super authentic feel and you can even see tortillas being handmade and pressed as you order. The margaritas were unique and flavorful (but a little on the pricey side). Let me start by saying that I love the decor at Chido Taco. It's so bright and colorful. I really enjoyed the variety of unique snacks and drinks available near the register. The first time I came, I ordered fish tacos and thought it was just okay. Came back for a second visit with my husband and was glad I gave it another shot. I had the chicken quesadilla and he got the veggie tacos. We took full advantage of the salsa bar and fresh toppings. I know this seems silly, but the quesadilla was one of the best I've ever had. Finally stopped into Chido Taco today. It's such a fun restaurant and unlike any other taco spot in Raleigh. I love the Mercado-style ambiance... it's relaxed and feels more authentic. The menu includes taco, bowls, tortas, quesadillas and plenty of options for sides. They also have a full bar, bottled jaritos, a salsa bar, and a few snacky items (like takis!). The restaurant is clean with plenty of seating. I docked a star because the employees weren't the most friendly, but I was in at a random time on a Saturday so maybe they had just been slammed? I had the chicken quesadilla and the chicken was seasoned deliciously, the cheese was plentiful and perfectly melty. It is clear that they use high-quality ingredients and the food is definitely something Chido Taco should be proud of. I can't wait to go back and try other menu items. Parking is relatively easy at McNeill Point and there are other spots worth visiting nearby. read more

Had been curious about this place and really glad my son and I tried it for lunch today. Prices were reasonable and portions were big. I had the chicken burrito bowl and he had the chicken burrito. Chicken was plentiful and well-seasoned, served in the bowl over rice, black beans, grilled corn, lettuce and cheese. If you're familiar with Moe's and Guasaca this bowl fell somewhere in the middle. Service was fast and friendly. I'm a huge salsa fan so loved the salsa bar -- several fresh ones to choose from. We'll be back! read more

Solid taco place. Came here passing through and I was pleasantly surprised. The decor inside is really striking. Bright, beautiful, well thought out. They have sonos speakers throughout and they provide solid sound - perhaps two clicks too loud at times, but it's a nice room filling sound. You walk up on the left of the dining room just to the right of the kitchen along the counter to place your order at the registers. You're given instruction if you don't know what to do, but it's fairly straight-forward. You pick your tacos or whatever, sides, drink, sit down. Then you can get a bar drink (they're great, in fact) while you wait. Once your food is ready you then go to the sauce/topping bar and load up. Plenty of sauce options, fire roasted chili peppers, fresh limes, cilantro, etc. All the things you'd expect, then some additional items. Be careful with the hottest sauce - it'll sneak up on you. The guacamole is good and the corn side is also good, though it always has too much of the mayo dressing on it for my taste (and I like mayo). Prices are fair, service is fast, everyone seems friendly. If you're craving Mexican and/or Tacos, this place will definitely satisfy. I think it would probably be kid friendly too.
