I used to go to Street Tacos Cantina every Tuesday in 2023-2024 and I made my return recently. The cook still remembered me and waved and the food was just as good as it used to be. I really appreciated how kind they were and how much effort they put into the ambiance of the place. Terrible service! Pretty sure I was overcharged. I gave my full order of two tacos chips and a margarita to the tune of $27.00. I tried to check the prices but they do not list chips and salsa nor any of their margarita prices! Only got one taco, chips and margarita when I go back up to ask about the water and the tacos they acted like they didn't know what I was talking about. Had to pay additionally for a taco and water for my child ended up paying for the water with cash was given back the incorrect change by that point I was done. One star for fun, cheeky atmosphere and good service. Another star because they have diet Dr Pepper and jamaica and the cashier told me that the pico has cilantro when I requested "no cilantro" on my burrito. The food, though, is nothing special. My burrito wrap with barbacoa, no sour cream, no cilantro, came as requested but was also mushy and flavorless. I genuinely could not tell if there were any beans there. There was some pointless wilted/steamed lettuce, and about 1/4 of the meat was a big lump of stewed fat. The rice, although grossly overcooked, had decent flavor. After being warned about the cilantro in the pico I asked if I could get some plain chopped tomato instead. I was given a fairly small cup of tomato on the side - with a load of finely chopped cilantro on top. Um, thank you? I was told that the fish taco was better than the campechano taco but that's all I know about that. Oh, and the chips that came with my dish were house made but badly overcooked. You can easily get much better food at lower prices at nearly any of our local taco trucks. read more

Holy moly was this good! We had originally planned on going to another Mexican restaurant but they were closed. So I run to Yelp, see this one and we thought "why not!" I had the jalapeno margarita (yum!) and my friend had a mango one (she said it was REALLY good). She got a fajita quesadilla with plenty of veggies and meat. I got the al pastor street tacos and oh my! I moved to the south a little over a year ago and Mexican food here is not like SoCal. But this al pastor? It tasted like the kind my brother would make on his grill! Tender, a little spice, plenty of meat in each taco...so dang good! all of the food tasted great, as were the manners and service of everyone working there. they actually enjoyed their job. while there is a bit of a language barrier for english speakers, it gets through to them quickly. and the actual feel of the restaurant itself was amazing, with a nice mural on the right wall. 10/10 restaurant, would definitely go again and recommend wholeheartedly! read more

So i got birria tacos because i love them, but i was disappointed. Its very flavorful but it's just the texture for me...the corn tortilla has a little gummy-ish texture. I'm not a fan of that. I get this is a Mexican restaurant but someone at the front should be able to speak and understand enough English to answer questions. I asked the lady was her Birria beef or pork, it took her 5 mins to understand what I was saying.. then after confirming it was beef, she rang me up for 16.50 plus tax when the menu that was given to me by the manger said 15.99. When questioned why is it 2 different prices she couldn't answer, then once the manger comes he said no it's 16.50 instead of honoring the very menu he gave me. The 1.50 wasn't really a big deal but to not honor your own menu prices was baffling, I walked out and won't be back. I really wanted to like this place because the ambience is cool. Ordered take out before but never been inside thought I would give it a go . They play Spanish music. It's all fun and colorful with lots of art and an outside patio in the front. However, I've tried plenty of tacos in my life and these did not hit the spot. The meat was great. It was just missing a glob of good guacamole and sour cream. It was missing flavor. The nachos supreme were $14 and they were trash cold cheese and not enough of anything my kids left it .chimichanga was huge worth the money according to my husband . The service was a bit slow waited 10 min for our drink because they had to make a new batch of horchata The cashier was nice and the system asks you for a tip in advance . Upon arriving at Street Tacos Cantina, we were immediately struck by its vibrant interior design. The place buzzed with energy, amplified by the lively Mexican party music playing in the background. This energetic atmosphere, however, might be a bit overwhelming for those seeking a quieter dining experience. As soon as we entered, the staff attended to us promptly, handing us menus as we settled into a booth to make our choices. We opted for the carne asada chorizo burrito and the al pastor burrito, each accompanied by a small serving of tortilla chips and salsa. When it was time to order, we approached the register and paid around twenty to twenty-three dollars for our meal. Unfortunately, the food did not live up to our expectations. We both agreed that the quality was, at best, okay. Both burritos tasted similar, and we found ourselves heavily reliant on the meager amount of salsa provided - roughly an eighth of a cup - to add flavor to our meal. This experience left us disappointed, and we doubt we will return, to avoid further letdowns. For future patrons of this establishment, I would advise going all out with your order. Choose the burrito with chipotle mayo and guacamole, and consider spending the extra seven dollars for additional chips and salsa. It might be the only way to truly enjoy your meal here. Been there three times now and each time was a hit. The barria tacos are excellent and on Taco Tuesday the regular tacos (not birria) are really cheap. The al pastor is excellently flavored and their salsa verde and salsa roja are excellent. The people who work here are really nice. Very very casual and a nice selection of things to drink, alcholic and non alcoholic. My friend had the street corn also and really really liked it. So I would say Street Tacos Cantina is a winner. read more

Best Mexican Restaurant in Raleigh! I am from Texas and am very choosy about Mexican fare. I have tried many Mexican restaurants but this is by far the best in Raleigh. The owner Julio is so responsive and takes great pride in the authentic, made from scratch meals that he prepares. Perfectly tasty. I just happened to walk by and see that they were new and open. It's also Tuesday so they had their $2 Taco Tuesday specials on a sign outside. I ordered 2 TT tacos (you have to specify that you want the Taco Tuesday deal; I think they're a different, smaller size than their regular tacos) and got 1 chicken taco and 1 carne asada taco (and a mandarin Jarritos ) They fired up the plancha as soon as I ordered so everything came out hot and fresh. The serving size for a $2 taco was surprisingly hearty, especially the chicken! And even with just the meat and onions (I'm not a cilantro girl) it was so flavorful. They come with 2 sauces but I honestly didn't need them. Service was quick and everyone was friendly. It seem like people were just starting to roll in for dinner (about 5:45pm) so it was started to pick up when I was leaving. There's seating inside and a few outdoor patio seats which will be great as the weather warms up. Didn't see anything like margaritas or adult drinks yet not hopefully that's something coming soon.
