Friendly service, good food.My son and I stopped here on the way to hike at the local state park. We really enjoyed the burgers! Everything is cooked to order, so be prepared to wait - but if you're like me, I'd much rather have a meal prepared when I order it instead of something sitting for who knows how long under a warming light. Come prepared with cash, though - no debit/credit cards.

Great place for breakfast or lunch. Don't get in a hurry. They make every order as it comes in. I suggest calling in your order.

Great burgers. Disappointed that they are perpetually out of curly fries. Order ahead - the wait is ridiculous otherwise.

I found TLC via a viral food review on Facebook! Traveled 30 minutes to try their food. Awesome…read moreexperience from ordering to tasting their smash burger and wing combo. It is a take-out restaurant, with limited outdoor seating, neighboring Chevron gas station and across from Lakewood Baptist Church. The food is made to order; my order was ready in 18 minutes. I got a single smash burger, fries, and kash (hot honey-lemon pepper mix) flavored wings (4 ct), and bottled drink--lunch plate combo for $21. Everything was yummy. The burger was delicious. The fries were good without dipping sauce. The wings were pretty good; they weren't fried crispy as requested, and I only tasted a hint of lemon pepper--definitely a sweeter sauce flavor. Overall, good tasting food here!! I hope you'll encounter Nina; she patiently answered my questions, aware that it was my first visit, and she offered for me to sample the TLC sauce ( house-made, mayo-based aioli). Great customer service! Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. I'd make the drive again for this meal!

Everything was cooked to perfection and tasty. The employees were friendly, the food was cooked and ready in less than 10 minutes, and the facility was very clean. This is now my favorite take-out place for smash burgers. Unfortunately, I live in NC. But, I will return to The Lunch Counter on future visits to the area when visiting family. Highly recommend!

We had the ones with Cajun seasoning which were really good but the garlic fries are seriously over the top. When we return (yes, of course we will return) I think I just want garlic fries. Forget the burger I just want to eat those amazing fries. It's a good burger. Juicy, well cooked. Not overdone. The bread was not my favorite. Why does everyone insist on brioche buns? They don't really work for a cheeseburger. It is still a damned good burger. The only real problem is that it will occupy too much room in my stomach that could otherwise be filled with garlic fries. The dining room is a bit small. Let's call it intimate. The staff are wonderful. Go. Eat fries. Life is good.

Some of the more well known places down here I don't like so much for one reason or another. I have been walking past Clocked for years an never tried it. Well, today was going to be the day! I was seated quickly by a friendly staffer. The vibe here is Athens collage restaurant. Which I like. Rather than a burger today I chose the Chicago dog with some cheese fries. This is not a Chicago dog, the bun was toasted and not soft with poppy seeds. Bit it was good. The fries were freshly cooked, crispy, and hot. Cheese sauce was excellent. I go to a 40 Watt or Foundry show about once a month. I will be back to Clocked again to try a burger. I like this place.

Everything on the menu and coming from the kitchen looked good. The thick burgers are huge. I prefer a medium rare burger and mine was cooked nicely; however, my partner who ordered their burger as medium rare at the same time had theirs come out medium well to well done, so seems it can be a bit inconsistent. The staff are very friendly and the restaurant very cute inside as well. Overall it was a pleasant visit and we would try it again so would recommend for a lowkey lunch.

I told the young woman taking orders, and she assured me "it's no cheese" even though it didn't show. When my burger arrived, it had cheese. I asked if they could remake it without cheese (because I can't have any at all). A more senior staff member said she would "just take the cheese off," which wasn't acceptable. When I asked again for a new burger or a refund, she refused both--with an attitude. I ended up leaving still hungry and feeling ignored. I hope the cafe reads feedback like this and improves; their menu might have potential, but I can't recommend them based on my experience.
