I saw the review on here talking about a bad experience as a trans person. Of course, I have no…read moreidea what the other reviewer's experience was and I'm in no place to say what did or didn't happen to them. However, I wanted to add that I'm also trans and had no issues when disclosing my transition and recent mastectomy to Dr. W and his team. They took my medical history and weren't weird about it. Everyone was very kind to me. They didn't necessarily always all get my pronouns right, but that seemed a lot more attributable to busy staff making assumptions than to any sort of malice or bigotry. Once again, not trying to argue with the other person, but I saw his review the night before my surgery and it really freaked me out, so I wanted to share that my experience ended up being fine and that I would absolutely not characterize them as transphobic. I got my wisdom teeth out and the process went pretty smoothly. The staff were kind and understanding when I was nervous. I wasn't prescribed any opiates. My pain was easily managed with tylenol and ibuprofen and I had very little swelling. Recovery instructions were fine although I would have appreciated a little more detail in some areas.

Genuinely one of the worst people I have ever met. Went for a consolation for wisdom tooth removal…read more Stated that yes I smoke MJ for MEDICAL reasons and it has been in my file for over 7years Dr. Waisath preferred I take off even more work to get myself on opioids to help with daily pain over continuing my regular medication. I have had prior surgeries and more invasive surgeries might I add while using MJ as a prescribed medication and have had absolutely zero issues and even continued using MJ as a pain medication after surgery with no side effects. I stated I am well aware of all side effects and complications that COULD happen due to my slight usage, I have been blood tested prior and my the levels have been well under normal medical use of patients over 55 which means there's next to none in my system compared to the average 30tr old smoker. He laughed, smirked, rolled his eyes, talked over me, interrupted me all to tell me is his concern was me "remembering" having my wisdom teeth removed. At 6 years old I had open heart surgery and woke up and guess what it never affected me. The fact that Novocain does not work on me period is the entire reason I was going to have oral surgery done in the first place and this man laughed in my face and said he'd only use Novocain. Avoid this place at all cost. They are unprofessional, disrespectful, and unqualified. Not to mention my Top Surgery information was removed from my file and I had to reinstate that I had it done back in 2016, the second I mentioned it his entire demeanor changed as if he was going to do anything and everything to get me out of his office. I feel incredibly discriminated against. Dr. Waisath is a transphobic surgeon and does not need to be practicing in an ally leading state. I'd give zero star if I was able to. Let me remind everyone before I left the room I strictly asked him to tell me if he would just tell me then if he was going to take me as a patient or decline me for PERSONAL reasons, he said he wouldn't not be taking me as a patient. That was on PERSONAL opinion after telling him I am a trans man. Genuinely disgusting behavior and I will be looking into discrimination lawsuits if possible.

100% of the time any phone call to Carle sends you to a recorded loop that requires a call-back…read more(with no particular time given). I end up missing half of the return calls because by that time I am doing something else or away from my phone. Normally it takes 4 calls to make an appointment, and then I have only been able to make even a virtual appointment for no sooner than 3 weeks. Carle has a go-to defensive attitude. Yesterday I tried the Carle $20 online instant e-appointment, during an emergency allergic reaction regarding a medication prescribed by my doctor, the nurse or secretary who eventually called me for the appointment immediately started arguing about whether they are charging people (they are). As typical with Carle the receptionist pool/nurse decided that whatever I said must not be true: that (because I am 68) I must be having a heart attack and told me to go to the ER. I declined to go to the ER for a heart attack, and asked her to stick to the topic of my allergic reaction to the medicine. Hours later I got a sort of sarcastic call back from her reading me what the doctor wrote. It all reminded me of that game "Chinese Whispers," where you never actually talk to the doctor -- your symptoms and the doctor's advice get filtered and altered through a series of intermediary secretary/nurses who ultimately try every way possible to pass the buck, and this results in very poor quality, and certainly unreliable, medical service. Carle also does not want anyone to transfer records from other hospitals. They just want to re-do everything with their own specialists, which take months to get appointments to see. I tried to send records from Maryland from very good specialists I saw there within the last 6 months and Carle was not interested in processing their own paperwork to receive the records. Carle just seems completely overwhelmed, stretched way too thin, and is totally understaffed. Carle presently represents itself as a lot of big shiny new buildings, but Carle is NOT functioning in any smooth or coordinated manner. Good luck if you choose Carle. Please think about having a back-up plan.

I can't speak for the practice as a whole, but the hygienist who worked on my teeth (Kati) was very knowledgeable & friendly and performed a gentle & thorough cleaning. I was wary at first because of some reviews about being upsold, but no one pushed any extra treatment. Will definitely go back if I am in the area.

My family was repeatedly told we were "good to go" before treatment, yet months later we received unexpected bills after our dental insurance was retroactively terminated. We were never informed before treatment that there was an insurance verification issue or given an estimate of what we might owe if coverage could not be confirmed. What followed was months of confusing and contradictory billing statements. Depending on the statement or email, our balance changed multiple times, making it nearly impossible to determine what was actually owed. Although the office acknowledged communication errors and adjusted one charge, we ultimately paid the full amount requested simply to avoid collection activity and protect our credit. I appreciate that staff eventually responded to my questions, but the overall billing process lacked the transparency and consistency we had come to expect after two decades as patients. Because we were unable to reach a satisfactory resolution directly with the practice, I have filed a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau so the matter can be reviewed independently. I hope the practice improves its billing transparency and communication so future patients do not experience the same confusion.
