New sushi joint that opened just a couple days ago so it's still got that fresh new construction smell but I'm sure the smell will be gone after a few weeks. The presence of this restaurant helps alleviate the area's lack of sushi a little bit and although what I tried wasn't mind-blowing amazing, the service was good and I would certainly come back to try what else they had to offer. The interior is contemporary with light-colored marble tables and booth tabletops, black seating furniture, and dark stained globes above the booths. Our table ordered water and our waitress gave us some small drinking glasses and a large carafe of water for us to help ourselves, which was nice and helped contribute to a private meal. This place seems ideal for an evening date. We ordered takoyaki and two specialty rolls. Takoyaki came as a dish with four pieces. Tasty, but for $7, seemed a little pricey per piece compared to other similar restaurants. The rolls we tried out were the Harwood ($16) and the Harvest ($14) and were satisfying. The Harvest had a touch too much spicy unagi aioli sauce that drowned out the taste of the rice a little bit, but it didn't make the rice soggy and I could still taste every part of the roll. I do think the cream cheese overpowered the other ingredients and wished the taste of eel was more apparent. The Harwood sounded great and it's not that it wasn't a good roll, but I personally don't think the flavors went incredibly well together. Our waitress was kind and attentive without being bothersome. Although not the best I've had for the price point they offer, I'd like to come back to try what else they have to offer. read more

This place is so good. It has a slightly upscale vibe - but you could still eat here in flip flops. Everything we ordered was extremely beautifully presented and the taste was great. The sushi is AMAZING worth the price. I had the scorpion roll and I subbed it with spicy mayo. Wow, the fried sweet potato in the middle gave it an amazing crunch. My husband and I are VERY picky about our sushi. I lived in Cali for 5 years and ate sushi regularly which made me even more particular when I moved back to Texas. This place is awesome. To start, I love the Japanese beers on draft which I think are always better served this way. The jalapeño hamachi with ponzu was excellent. The spicy edamame was our only question- I would stick to the regular. We never order sushi rolls so we only had nigiri with our special requests and they easily accommodated. We were huge fans of the snapper with the lemon slice and sea salt on top. The sushi is cut thin with wasabi in between the rice and fish (as it should be) so another plus. I was eager to try the lobster bomb (I think that's what it's called) and while it came out a little smaller than I had hoped for like $16, the ginger balsamic sauce on it was so good!! We only had sushi, sashimi, and the lobster roll so while I can't comment on the grill items (teriyaki, fried rice, etc), I would definitely recommend this place next time you're craving sushi! Been here about a dozen of times since it opened. And even though I'm not an advocate sushi eater I love this place. Small, quaint atmosphere. Family management style makes this place.
