First and last time coming here. I asked for a sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich, salt and pepper, with 2 eggs. That's it. Instead, i got an egg sandwich AND a 2 eggs with hashbrowns meal on the side. Because I know businesses are struggling due to Covid, I just paid 9 bucks for a mediocre (at best) sandwich and the clowns didn't even give me a fork for the eggs and hashbrowns I didn't order. Great place for a hearty fresh cooked breakfast. It's a small place with a friendly staff and quick service. The food is delicious and always served hot and fresh and there is a large selection to choose from for both breakfast and lunch. I always tend to order the skillets but have not found a bad choice in the group. We have as always found the food cooked perfect to order and the prices are extremely reasonable for the quality and amount of food you get. We live in Batavia and love good breakfast places. Hadn't ever tried Batavia's Diner and the reviews were good so we gave it a try. On the way there I said to my wife I wish there was a good Mexican Breakfast place around the tri-cities. Little did I know that BD perfectly fit that description. I had the Chilaquiles. Comes with a thin steak, eggs and tortillas. Fantastic! So flavorful. The most expensive breakfast item at $8. My wife had the house skillet w/ pancakes (yes, I ate those) at $5. Also outstanding flavor and value. Service was great. Only improvement could be the coffee - which was OK but not special. We were quite full and took 1/3 of our breakfast home and it was $15. Probably one of my favorite places for breakfast! I personally love the skillets here! HashBrowns cooked perfectly and everything perfectly put together! Conveniently located next to a grocery store so anything you request that they don't have you can sometimes see someone slip out the door to go get it. Was always a huge fan of strawberry waffles with whip cream and can't tell you how many times he would take my order and send someone to go get whip cream vs saying they are out. Me & my fiance' went here only because its close to our house, &he was in a rush before work, bad mistake.. the environment is creepy as yelpers mentioned.. vines are over-bearing & looks cluttered across the ceiling..dirty &old school looking.. then the waitress (brunette woman) wasn't exactly welcoming personality wise, (she took it upon herself) to bring us unwanted coffee (rude) which we didnt ask for,since she didnt mention we'd be charged.. we guessed it was complimentary (free) wrong. it showed up on our bill as $1.50 per cup (the menu) is VERY Boring, no selection whatsoever, she proceeds to tell us everything is sold seperately such as fries along side any sandwich an extra $1.50 yet they are dry &taste like the frozen bag at walmart, disgusting options! breakfast didn't offer platters options like you can get at ihop, dennys,or mcdonalds for 5 bucks! .. this Philly Cheese steak we both opted on was Small, no ingredients we're used to it having and was DRY i had to put home mayo on yet my fiance' wanted a refund &threw his in the trash, t i've tasted better hospital food, why pay hard earned money on something disgusting in an old fashioned ran down diner they obviously dont put money into! we are very dis-satisfied, i wouldn't recommend & it isn't about price because we spend upwards of $50 on chillis reguarly but why did batavia diner menu say our meals we're $4.50 a piece yet our receipt on a take out ended up at $16.28 (unwanted bitter coffees included).. i wouldnt spend another penny in this place &yes it took forever to make 2 bland sandwiches &hard dry fries.. This place is done. After 15 years, this neighborhood place has new owners and the wait has gone from 20 mins to over 35 mins consistently. Today was the last straw; wife wanted omlette w/chihuaua cheese with gyro meat and spinach, she got gyro meat with American cheese and onions. daughter got an omlette and chocolate milk. Hair on the cup, hair in the daughter's omlette. I have been in this place at least 70 times in 15 years and today was my last. Smaller portions, longer wait and wrong orders with hair on the side.
