Stopped by today for brunch with my friends. Ordered an eggs Benedict ham eggs hollandaise. The lady who took care of us was Alejandra. She was so sweet. Prompt service. Nice people in a Mom & Pop Restaurant. Delicious food and we can talk and hear each other! Lots of parking. Great people, wonderful staff and the B&G is outstanding. Slightly spicy but does not impact the dish for they have very little chorizo in it. Lots of gravy unlike 90% of the other places who don't give you enough. One time I walked in with two large groups and had to wait, the owner realized what happened and gave me my BG for free. Came in for the stuffed French Toast I saw the pictures of on Yelp, but it's no longer on the menu. I then thought to myself "Why are their no reviews on biscuits and gravy at the Biscuits and Gravy Cafe?" So thats what I ordered and I was not disappointed. Quite possibly the best Bs & Gs I've ever had. Gravy had a nice spice to it and there was plenty of it. Biscuits were also very good. Ordered the scrambled eggs with it too. First time ever I've had gravy left on the plate after finishing everything else. It was delicious! Wife ordered the cinnamon French Toast which was also very good. The OJ was surprisingly good, tasting like fresh squeezed stuff. We also got sides of bacon that were just OK, as was the coffee. Service was fast and friendly, food was hot and tasty. Ambiance was a bit lacking and cold. We were the only ones there. I'm thinking this place needs to do some marketing, as it's tucked away in a strip mall, with another free standing breakfast joint on the corner that seemed to have a decent crowd. read more

I love this place ! The servers are all polite, friendly and quick. Everything we have had there is delicious. I'd never had biscuits and gravy before going there and honestly, I sure didn't know what I was missing. They are SUPER !!! They must be doing something right because when we first went there they occupied the end spot in a small strip mall, now they have expanded to two and they are always busy !! Wow. It's everything people say - super friendly people and owner, big portions, amazing food. What they lack in decor they make up for in everything else. First time coming to Biscuits & Gravy cafe. Saw that it had good reviews and now I know why. The service was wonderful, very attentive and accommodating. It was clean and a nice atmosphere. We tried all sorts of food (pancakes/waffles/b&gs/bacon/sausage/eggs/potatoes) and each item was delicious. I hold my biscuits n gravy to a high standard and these exceeded my expectations. I don't typically do waffles but I took the entire thing down. The owner was even nice enough to stop by our table and I let him know how pleased we were. Can't wait to go back! read more

Yuck. Tiny menu. Got a BLT and fries. Worst BLT I gave even had, how can you mess up a BLT?? It now has made me sick. Not one to complain. The fries had a very rancid oil taste to them. The waitress didn't come back and fill drinks. 40 minutes after ordering she finally came back to our table asked if we ordered yet. We left right then. Just like others have posted, don't turn around when you find the entrance to this place! Definitely go inside and have a seat. The breakfast menu is small but there are plenty of options. We created our own skillets and they were excellent - very fresh ingredients and the potatoes are cubed with the skin on. Way better than the shredded type. Coffee is decent and so is the hot chocolate. Waitress was pleasant. I'd go back to try other things. It is a simple place but very good for a solid breakfast. read more

This review is especially for savory crepe people. Unless you're going to splurge for a full French tea at Suzette's, this is my favorite in the area... and I try them everywhere I go. The crepes are perfect, the filling is a perfect combination of sautéed chicken/spinach/caramelized onion/pesto, and interestingly... no sauce. Some places (like one down the street) drench the filling in a heavy sauce but this does not leave you feeling nasty. Sooo delish!! read more

It's always nice to uncover a gem. Manny's Biscuits and Gravy is immediately a keeper. It was our first visit and we were greeted by Manny himself. We never felt rushed and had plenty of time to enjoy their special Avocado toast, bacon, eggs, and fluffy pancakes. But the simple treat that won the day was the perfect potatoes. Did I say perfect? A bit crispy on the outside but instead of dry, spongy, overcooked cold centers that seem to be the norm at most breakfast spots, Manny's potatoes were melt in your mouth on the inside and perfectly flavored with peppers and onions! I would go back just for those breakfast potatoes! Plenty of timely refills on coffee, water, and juice. I just tried this new breakfast and lunch restaurant out and I was very impressed. It is very unassuming on the outside but don't be fooled by the appearance the food is very good! I ordered the Mexican omelette which came with an English muffin and potatoes. My daughter got the 2+2+2+2. The portion sizes were very generous and everything was plated nicely. My omelette was very well made it had tomatoes, chorizo, and fresh jalapeños... this is exactly what I am looking for in a Mexican omelette and it had just the right amount of kick for me. A bonus is that they have Cholula right on the table. The jam that came with the English muffin was good but the real star of the plate (as if the omelette needed competition!) was the potatoes. Freshly cut and pan fried with bell peppers and onions and a hint of cumin... like a bite of home to me. Flavor was fantastic and I brought some home where they were finished off in only a few minutes. The eggs on the 2+2+2+2 were perfectly prepared... the sausage was yummy and the bacon was stand out... thick cut and very smoky. Cinnamon swirl French toast was also very well executed and had a hint of crystalized sugar in the swirl which I thought was delicious. Plenty of food for the two of us and as I said before the leftovers didnt last long when I got home. Got the endless coffee which was as good or better than most diner/brunch drips I have had.... loved the thick mug. I recommend trying this place out! So happy to have another option in West Chicago. The interior is very simple but clean and well kept. A huge bonus for me was that they didn't have any TVs - which meant I could focus on my daughter and she could focus on me - I dont go to breakfast to watch TV. The waitress was very attentive and everything was fast and fresh! The only thing I would change is replacing the fluorescent lighting with some low hanging pendants with warm bulbs over each table but besides that this is an easy place to recommend! read more

Sunday morning, about 10:30. Just checked out of a B&B, looking for a nice bit of breakfast before our 120-mile drive home. The first place we stopped was incredibly jammed. Reviews for Biscuits & Gravy Cafe looked good, so we decided to give it a try. It was a bit tricky to find, as it was in the back corner of a strip mall. From the outside, little differentiates it from, say, a Subway or other small, casual chain. The interior is basic and functional - a small waiting area sharing space with the counter and kitchen, and the adjoining dining room. The latter is spartan - about a dozen tables against the walls and front window, each seating from two to about six. Artwork from a local artist - each piece available for purchase - adorns a portion of one wall; the rest are empty. All surfaces - walls, tables, floors - are spotless. Since there were only two of us, as opposed to the families waiting to be seated, we were shown to a two-top almost immediately and had coffee within minutes. The focus is, as it should be, on the food and service. Our server, a young woman of high school or college age, was cheerful and attentive without being overbearing. I had a massive breakfast burrito - easily 8" long and 2" in diameter - loaded with eggs, spinach, potatoes, cheese, avocado, and sausage. Hot, fresh and tasty, it was served with a small, cool dish of strawberries, blueberries, and melon. My wife had a crispy Belgian waffle nearly as large as her dinner plate, with a side of four strips of bacon. The food (and coffee) was very good. Not being from the Chicago area, the prices were a little higher than we were accustomed to, but were reasonable for the area. If we're in the area again, we'll be back. read more

Was out in west Chicago for a work meeting and had some time in between so was looking for a breakfast spot and boy am I glad I stopped here. It's behind another larger breakfast spot and a bit hidden. Got their all American breakfast and it was delicious. Everything cooked to perfection. Sausage and eggs were delicious and pancakes were light and fluffy. Restaurant is very clean and nice and open floor plan. The service was very good as well. read more

Happily drove 25 min to came back to this establishment! Discovered last Sunday while out of our normal stomping grounds, ordered for pick up. When I went in to pick up, the place was very clean, the employees were nice, and the food was ready on time. We were all happy with our breakfast sandwiches/burrito! A week later we are back for dine-in. All 3 of us ordered different menu items. Absolutely delicious! Our server was friendly and on top of all our needs.
