My friend and I saw this place on IG and just had to visit. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted like family. Susan walked us around, helped us find things. This was truly a candy store and we were so excited we didn't know where to start first. Whether you're a total beginner or an experienced quilter, the instructors and volunteers are incredibly generous with their time, knowledge, and patience. They create a safe and encouraging environment where everyone feels welcome and inspired. What makes this organization truly shine is their mission--quilting not just for personal joy, but for giving back. They create quilts for people in need, from veterans and foster children to hospital patients and those experiencing hardship. Every stitch carries a message of care and community. We struck up conversations with several customers so easily- what a joy of a place. The space is clean, organized, and full of energy. You can feel the passion behind everything they do, from the carefully curated fabric donations to the collaborative projects that bring people together for a greater good. While our previous experience was positive, everything changed when Diana Ramirez was assigned as my son's service coordinator. Accountability and consistent care are supposed to be foundational at NLARC, but Ms. Ramirez appears to selectively choose who receives help. She previously denied my son critical assistance--only for a higher-level staff member to step in the very same day and provide the exact support Ms. Ramirez claimed "wasn't done there." Recently, when I needed a crucial document signed and handled, the pattern repeated: prolonged ghosting, unreturned calls for months, and ignored emails. Front-desk staff, the diagnosing doctor, and officers of the day have repeatedly had to step in to help because Ms. Ramirez fails to perform her basic duties. While her supervisor, Jennifer Thurm, was kind and took accountability for the mess, organizational failures cannot be swept under the rug. Vulnerable children and families depend on these services, and the systemic lack of responsiveness and fairness by assigned coordinators demands immediate administrative review and public transparency.

For months my friends had been asking Clyde and me to go there with them. I kept putting it off. Some times I didn't go because I had something else to do. Usually I didn't go because the thought of a vegan dinner at a community center didn't sound very appealing. I pictured a bunch of vegetables and maybe some hummus and pita bread. I was wrong. This month we decided to go, and I'm so glad we did. The dinner was supposed to start at 6:00 pm. There was Early Bird appetizers for folks who came early. We got there at about 5 pm. It was easy to find the community center and there was plenty of free parking in back. The dinner was in a big room that looked like an auditorium. There was plenty of tables and chairs. There was a stage in the front of the room where a member of the group was playing his guitar and singing. He was really good. At about 5:30 we were all invited to get appetizers which were set up on a long table. There was celery, carrots, chips, crackers, and a really good chunky salsa. It was pretty basic until they brought out a big bowl of vegan egg salad. I didn't think I'd like it, but it was delicious. If I didn't know better I would have thought it was made with real eggs. There was also a table set up with organic lemonade, juices, water, and several flavors of Silk milk. As it got closer to 6 o'clock the room started to fill up. At a few minutes past six we were invited up to a table where a catered vegan feast was set up. There was tofurky chicken in a delicious barbecue sauce, basmati rice, broccoli, two kinds of salads, and homemade sunflower seed salad dressing. The meal was catered by Chef Brook Katz. Everything was so delicious. For dessert they served vegan orange chocolate chip cake. I loved it, but Clyde wasn't crazy about the cake. I had no problem finishing his piece. After the meal the owners of Choices Organic Cafe, three vegan restaurants in Miami, spoke to the group. They talked about their reasons for opening the restaurants and their plans to expand throughout Florida. They're hoping to open restaurants in Fort Lauderdale and Boynton Beach next. The evening ended with a raffle for ten prizes. Everyone was given a free raffle ticket and you could buy more for $1.00 a ticket. We bought extra tickets. I won a canvas bag from Choices. EarthSave puts on a catered vegan dinner and program on the last Friday of each month. My boyfriend and I found one of this rescue's dogs after she had been intentionally left alone at Rustic Canyon Park at night. The owner later admitted to me that she had hoped someone would simply pick the dog up. She also later texted us asking if we would keep the dog because she no longer wanted her anymore. I have text messages documenting these conversations. Rather than turning our backs on the situation, we opened our home to this dog, paid for her care, spent days with her, and worked to find her a safe future. We had absolutely nothing to gain--we simply didn't want an abandoned dog to end up in danger. The dog also had a reported bite history, making the situation even more serious. I expected the rescue to recognize the gravity of what had happened and work collaboratively to ensure the dog's safety and the safety of the public. Instead, I was met with defensiveness and hostility. During my conversation with the rescue, I was told the owner was "a good person" despite the fact that she had intentionally abandoned the dog, later admitted she no longer wanted her, and asked us to keep her permanently. My concerns were dismissed, and I was spoken to disrespectfully despite the fact that I had stepped in solely to help. I fully understand that the rescue may have had the legal right to take the dog back. That is not my issue. My issue is the complete lack of professionalism, accountability, and appreciation shown toward someone who volunteered their own time, money, and home to protect one of their dogs after it had been abandoned. When they picked the dog up, they refused to provide even a general reassurance about her future or care. While I understand not disclosing confidential information such as a foster or trainer's identity, the complete lack of transparency only added to my concern. I hope Athena is ultimately safe and receives the training and responsible placement she deserves. I also hope this rescue reflects on how it communicates with members of the public who step in to protect animals in crisis. Kindness, accountability, and professionalism should never be too much to ask.

The clothes are in almost new condition. Very cute, very cheap. You really have to have patience to look through the stuff though because it's not organized by sizes. I found a jacket in excellent condition for my husband here too that we would've spent at least $80 on for 1/4 of the price! Great selection. Yes there's a club and they meet every 1st Thursday of the month at the OneGeneration Senior Enrichment location! My curiosity was peaked and the fact I could get a free plant on my first visit sealed the deal! Parking is plentiful in the front. Outside I thought the building looks small but it's a trick of the eye because after entering through the double doors the room is HUGE and has a stage with a big screen to project the power points. It's so spacious! I was so awed by the plants that were set up that I forgot to check the walls in case they posted what other events OneGeneration hosts but I'm sure I can find it online! As for the club it's so fun! I didn't know what to expect but I already learned some new things and there were so many species I never heard of before. Apparently once a year members also compete and bring their plants and there are thousands of cactus and succulent submissions that get judged over the 3 day event. After walking around and seeing so many new species and hearing other people's stories I'm now excited to be a part of the club! Tonight they also hosted Botany Bingo! I think they do this every few months and when you win you can choose a plant as your gift! I couldn't believe it I won the first bingo round and got a gorgeous cactus!!! For each round up to 10 people can win, and then there's 3 rounds giving plenty of people chances to win! So fun! I cant wait to research what other events are hosted at the One Generation because I had so much fun!

For the prospective families reading this, I implore you, Ms. Peggy, to define what your definitions of "hostile communication" and "ongoing disruptive interactions" and "combative" are. I also give you permission to state what dates and claims about me you are even referring to, but make sure to to include "critical context" without being "inaccurate" or "misleading" when doing so. Parents need to be aware that you were never around during the incidents I described, so you have no basis for knowing whether anything I described was inaccurate.
