INSI is the BEST! She is professional, efficient, highly knowledgeable when it came to recommendations, and sweet. I drove all the way from Sherman Oaks to her business. When I came to her, I had a due date of a week prior to my elopement to Italy and she told me she could do it. Pricing was reasonable! It is so hard to find a good tailor these days. Most just cut and sew. Perhaps that's all you want. But if you are a more discerning dresser, then Insi is the tailor for you. You can see from some of the pictures posted that she is definitely skilled in the art and takes pride in her work. I can't tell you how happy I am to have found her. To understand, you have to know about some of my experiences. One time (not in band camp) I requested my pants to be hemmed. When I got them back, I looked like a six year old kid trying to wear my grand-dad's clothes. There was definitely an extra six inches. The tailor then looked at me and said, "that is the way you (I) wanted them." As if I wanted to look like a circus clown! Another time (again, not in band camp) with another tailor I asked to have my pants to be hemmed. (Ok I'm short! I have to get all my pants hemmed). When I got them back, one pant leg was longer than the other. The tailor told me it was because I didn't have even hips! Even more upsetting is that they insisted that I pay to have the work corrected. I had no such problem with Insi. Insi usually insists you try on the clothes before you leave. No don't cue the porn music. In one instance, I was in a hurry and didn't. The pants were a little longer than I expected. When I brought the pants back, there was no fuss and she gave be a new pick up date! Then when I picked them up, she didn't charge me! It was a strange feeling for me. I liked it. I've gone in (walk ins welcome) many times for simple hemming, to more complicated tailoring / hemmings, and she was even able to convert an oversized baby crib bedsheet into a mini-crib sized fitted sheet adding better safety features like a zipper. I always go in and trust her judgment and process of what needs to be tailored in and her feedback is always spot on. Best part? She's FAST. I cannot recommend Insi highly enough. She did an absolutely amazing job on a large number of alterations for me--about 18 pieces in total--and every single one turned out beautifully. Most of the work was on my Indian clothes, including many blouses, several kurtas for my husband, and one sari that needed to be completely unraveled and re-pleated to be converted into a ready sari. This was detailed, intricate work, and Insi handled it with incredible skill and precision. She was extremely professional, timely, and consistently kind throughout the entire process.
