Our son has been with ACW for 2 1/2 years and immediately after joining we saw amazing changes. He successfully started kindergarten this year and we believe without a doubt that all the proven, fact-based techniques that Dr. Janelle Saunders and her team helped my son with in clinic and in our home absolutely helped pave the way for his bright future. It's quite a change in his academic progress and his enthusiasm for school. He says Yayy every morning when I tell him what day it is, and that's school day. He started reading when he was four and a half. I don't have to ask him twice when it's reading time at home. Somehow Challenger got him to feel like he is having fun when he reads or works on the worksheets. He is able to explain to me errors he makes on his worksheets at school, and able to show me corrections. I am happy with his academic growth at this school. I like that the school entrance is locked at all time. You can't get to the front desk before you get approved to pass through the locked entrance There were couple times I had issues with admin. At first, I didn't know the school required uniform shirt and pants. I only ordered my son uniform shirts and went to buy him pants from a clothing store. One day he came home in someone else's pants with no note to explain why his pants were changed. When I called, that was when I was informed about the mandatory uniform. I was upset at how they made him change into different pants at school, and how they didn't have the courtesy to call me to work out the uniform issue. Another time was when I received a past due notice, and a warning of my son's school termination if the past due was not taken care of by so and so date. I was not made aware of the due. When I called the school to take care of the amount, I was told that it was from the one day that we picked him up late. Ms Brenda always calls me back in timely manner. For how happy my son is at this school, I can look past all the admin issues I have had.

After much consideration I am writing this review as I feel that I have a responsibility to…read moreseriously warn parents about my personal experiences of the unsafe unethical practices at HOPE CHRISTIAN PRESCHOOL. I am a primary care physician. My 3yr old son attended Hope Christian Preschool 2015-2016. The 6:1 student teacher ratio was favorable with teacher's assistant in addition. The year started with head injury from a fall resulting in a hematoma the size of an egg at 9:00 A.M (noted by director). There was not any phone call from faculty, just an incident report mid afternoon. I can't imagine sending a child with a head injury for a nap let alone not calling any parent. I should have pulled my son from this school immediately. After promises to change their procedures/policies regarding immediate notification after such incidents, I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Near the end of the year, I received a strange phone call at 12:30 P.M. from the director, Ms. McCormick. She asked if anything was wrong with my child...he wasn't moving his left arm. My son was fine at 8:00 A.M. when dropped off at school. He was immediately taken to ER and was found to have Nursemaid's Elbow. Someone pulled his arm at school. My son named a particular assistant when asked only "What happened?". The director was notified, she said she would investigate the matter. Next day she called stating she did not know what happened, she will have to notify CHILD LICENSING. To my surprise, adding insult to injury, I find CHILD PROTECTIVE SERVICES at my door. The response to my outraged email to director McCormick was "I'm sorry you were so EMBARRASSED by the CPS visit but we were only concerned for the child". HOW IS IT that you go from dropping off a healthy child at 8:00 A.M. to a small class of 6 children with 2 Teachers to finding out from a vague phone call at NOON that your child is injured, forced to go to ER, and THEN your parenting is questioned by CPS? Hope Christian School....largely the director/ Mccormick is absolutely UNETHICAL in the means by which they hope to DEFLECT any liability. CPS? Really? Hope Christian School from my experience is UNSAFE in that they are lacking in basics of handling children, assessing potential serious injury, as well as notifying parents promptly.

It is amazing to see how far this school has come. I feel that the skills I learned from attending this school from 2nd grade through middle school have carried with me until this day. My reading and writing skills are strong and this school truly prepared me for college. As an adult now, I read quite often for fun. This academy truly focuses on a classical education, which is not a focus in public schools today. Scholars learn cursive and multiplication/division starting in second grade. These skills stay with them for the remainder of their schooling. This academy does a nice job focusing on building the skills they've learned brick by brick each school year. Now as an adult, I hope to send my own children here one day so that they can experience the same type of educational experience I had in my childhood. American Heritage Academy has a warm, friendly feeling the moment you walk in. Scholars are beyond excited to come in each day and see their classmates and teachers. It is a school that is rigorous, but students look forward to coming each day because of the special, nurturing environment this school provides. It is a very family friendly school, and you can be as involved as you wish to be in your child's education.

The halls are set up so that multiple wheelchairs can move throughout the halls with ease. The kids range in age from 3-22 and they are some of the kindest humans you'll ever meet. The staff is amazing, they all care so much for the students and they would do anything to make their days at school worth it. The building is so bright and open, so much natural light you don't really need artificial lights in the halls. The health office looks like a mini ER with multiple full-time nurses who preform multiple procedures throughout the day. The front office staff is super friendly and kind, they love what they do. As you walk in the school they have a saying up on the wall and it says, "All Children Can Learn," and that is 1000% true. If I had a child who was medically fragile I'd want them to be here.
