Childtime Alhambra is the best! As a parent or grandparent, you want your child to have the best experience in preschool. You also want to know your child is safe and secure so that you don't have to worry when you leave. Childtime gives us all of that and more! Our little one loves it there. They have a huge park-like playground and J just loves it there. He always asks when he can go to "the park" (Childtime) and play again. He also loves his teachers and has learned so much. He made a few friends just on the very first day and always comes home with stories about his day. The staff is very experienced in childcare and the Director Ms. Pam and the Assistant Ms. Debbie are always helpful, accessible and keep everything running smoothly. Ms. Pam always puts us at ease and J just loves saying HI and Bye to the office beta fish every day! The summer has had lots of fun stuff going on, foam parties, water play, Captain Tall Tale, Franklyn Haynes Marionette Show, and a bubble show coming up too. We found Childtime because it was a good in between from my home and my mom's home who lives east of me. She helps us pick our daughter up in the evenings. We started our toddler in daycare at 2 and a half. She had an amazing first week but she started realizing daycare was a permanent fixture in our daily life and had a few weeks of adjustments after. Ms. Gloria and Ms. Doreen were so amazing and patient with our daughter. They took care of her and made sure she adjusted well during her days in school. We really appreciated it because we were really worried that our daughter wouldn't like school or the teachers weren't going to be great and we'd have to keep searching for a new daycare. But this was not the case. When our daughter transitioned to the three year old class with Ms Jenny and Ms Mary, she adjusted really quickly because they were so attentive with her. My daughter talks about her teachers all the time and this is how I know that she is well taken care of in school. There is the benefit of a camera system at the school and we did open the app a lot more frequently when she first started at the school. But now, we just pop in here and there just to see how she's doing. She rarely goes home with any incident reports so we don't have any reason to worry and check on her more frequently. All staff are friendly, responsive, and attentive. At least from what we've noticed. Our daughter is learning and her speech and critical thinking is much more advanced than if we were to keep her home. At this point in time, we are happy with Childtime and will continue to have our daughter attend until she started TK. read more

My daughter is always safe, engaged, and learning new things in her Twos class. The teachers are very caring and friendly. They always did their best to make sure my child adapted well to her new environment and classmates, especially when my daughter first started. And they were a big help when we started potty training my duaghter to keep her on track to learn those valuable self caring skills that go along with potty training. My child has been attending this school / daycare for 2 years now and I am ecstatic with our choice to have him be here during the day. He is now 2 years old, and we began when he was just turned 1. He learns so much, comes back home everyday with happy memories, and even lists of the names of his friends when we start heading over to the daycare. There have been only a small amount of times where I brought something to the attention of the staff and director of the school, and both times (yes, only 2) everything was dealt with professionally, effectively, and I felt like my voice was heard and respected as a parent. I am elated to have come to know the school. Highly recommend. Bonus feature, they have cameras throughout the daycare, and we as the parents have a direct visual into the main classroom whenever our child is checked in. He started not being potty trained and they assisted with motivating him to use the potty on his own. He loves his teachers and the ratio per teacher to student is very manageable. This was the first daycare where I sent my daughter. While my wife was ready to send her to daycare, I was quite mentally unprepared to do so. I met Director Pam who was very understanding of this dilemma for first-time parents, to which I sincerely appreciate. I think the surveillance camera feature of this place has spoiled me. Other places either don't share daily snapshots, or use a mobile app like BrightWheel, but that depends on the staff and whether they are proactive with it. Here, they have a camera feed indoors that show everything. I was literally glued to the SproutAbout app watching her cry constantly in the surveillance camera feed. Solely based on this feature, this daycare is highly recommended for first time parents. We stopped attending for about a year, but I still had positive memories of this place. Around December 2024, I decided to bring my daughter here again for drop-in care during her Pre-school Winter Break. Highly recommend!!!! This is the best choice i made ever to send my sons to this wonderful daycare. We enrolled in toddler program (under 2 yrs old). Teachers and staffs are so kind, very nice and super patient. This is their first time daycare, my boys were really fuzzy and emotional. Teachers were very professional and comfort them in a very gentle way. My boys love the classroom and the big playground. They had so much fun there. I also really enjoyed using Sproutsasbout app to watch them anytime and see updates from teachers. The updates include how they eat, how they sleep, how they interact with other kids and sharing photos and videos. My sons love Amy so much. I always see my son holding her leg and want to be hug. I also really like teacher Valerie and other staffs there. They are willing to hug and hold my sons when they need confort. I was so surprised to see one teacher was holding my twins by herself. I know it is not easy as a twin mom and how tired it is. I really appreciate that they treat my sons as their babies. When we pick them up, teacher would also share some stories about them during the day. I would never regret to send my twin boys (22 months) in this amazing daycare! Highly recommend!!!! read more

My son started with the toddler class here. Teachers were so-so. After he got older and went to the 2 year old class, he was much happier because there were more for him to do and play. Naturally, he's able to progress much faster because some of his peers have started talking. Teachers were better too. His favorite was Miss Doreen and we really appreciate the care she had for him. They had two apps - one is a surveillance camera to see their classrooms and another one is a system for teachers to share pics and little details as the day progresses. The surveillance camera app was great. The other one seemed good first, but I started to realize teachers were trying to take pics, message, and send to parents all day, so much that it's difficult to take care and give attention to the kids. My child ended up having incident reports every few days. He fell so much, he bumped so much. He got sick there so easily. In the surveillance camera, I saw a child putting her shoe to her mouth during nap time and it took the teacher 10 minutes to notice. I saw another child drinking from my child's cup. I understand kids are kids, and I appreciated the transparency, but attention/labor was lacking. Without the app, they could be taken care of safer and healthier. There was also quite a high turnover rate for teachers there it seemed. Every time I pick up my son, his face, his hands, his clothes would be dirty. Sometimes there were still traces of crackers around his mouth, sometimes color smears sometimes random stickers. I do not think washing hands is a priority here. He certainly had fun though - but he gets sick so much, half the time he's absent. Something I loved about Childtime were the large, shaded backyard/playground, reasonable tuition, central location, stress free parking, operation hours, the family handbook (corporate style, make things clear and fair), and the transparency (incident reports, calling me whenever things happened to him, surveillance camera). Personally, I think this is overall not a bad daycare when kids are under 2.5. In my son's case, he had fun, still didn't want to leave when I pick him up at 5:50pm. He was too young to talk, but he had a good social life and played with some little friends there. He strengthened his immune system by getting sick all the time even though it was so hard for me. I was in waiting list about 2 months to enroll my 3 years old son in this school. I did my tour in December and I wasn't able to see each classroom due to COVID. But I saw the rooms from cctv of the office room. I really love their backyard playground. Kids have lots of fun to enjoy the sunlight and fresh air by playing at that playground. Ms. Pam, the director of the school was nice and explained to me everything I'd like to know in my tour. My son started the school last 3 weeks ago and I'm glad he had a great time at school. Ms. Sally, Ms. Stephanie and Ms. Emily who taking care of my son are really nice and patient. Even this is his 1st time of school , my son didn't even cried after I left him. Also, The best thing is they provide BRIGHTWHEEL App after you enrolled. So you can see the daily activities and updates of your child from the App like what's he doing, how much does he eat etc. And you can also chat or ask what you want to know with your child teacher. My daughter started attending this daycare at 14 months, so she's been here for almost 4 months. She loves it. All the teachers in classroom B is excellent and take such good care of her and the other toddlers. Ms. Pam seems to run a tight ship, making sure they are in compliance with all the regulations. Which gives me a peace of mind, that my child is in good hands. Another thing that I love about this facility, is that they use brightwheel app. Allowing me and her dad to see what she's up to, how much she ate for lunch, pictures of her when she's doing activities. I enjoyed our time at Childtime. Our stay was cut short due to Covid-19, but no daughter always shared wonderful moments she shared with the staff and other kids. She was especially fond of staff member Mrs. Stella. Mrs. Stella has been in touch with us even though we are no longer enrolled at Childtime. That just shows how much the staff cares for their students. Pam the director at Childtime has been extremely helpful throughout the process as our daughter transitioned from daycare into kindergarten. He has helped us provide our new school with all of the documents we needed to help our daughter enroll. It was extremely difficult to provide our home school with all the documents required during this pandemic, but with her help we were able to enroll my daughter in time. I have a friend who has kept his son enrolled after the school re-opened and he has nothing but great things to say about the care his child has received. My daughter has been attending this daycare since she was 18 months. She loves going here. She tells me what she's done everyday and especially talks about her friends and her teachers. She is now telling me to make sure I mention Ms. Molly and Ms Stella and how nice they are. She also told me, "don't forget to say how much she has fun and enjoys learning". She loves making new friends and spending time with them. My friends and family tell me how well she speaks and how extensive her vocabulary is for her age but what they don't know is that most of her classmates in Childtime are the same way. That says a lot about this daycare. I especially like the fact that all the teachers know my daughter's name and say goodbye to her at the end of the day. Love childtime in Alhambra. My daughter who is now 7 has been going for drop in care for about 4 years when her private school is closed. She likes that the same kids are always there and they have an engaging schedule of fun activites all day. I also love the Brightwheel updates the entire day. My son is also now going and he is 3. I'm taking my child out from this preschool. I initially liked the place because they focus on playing rather than academic goals. My child started going here when became two and half, and that was my main focus-having fun. Now my child advanced and teachers changed. And I experience disappointment every single day, and I'm tired of it. Currently looking for a better school with BETTER TEACHERS who at least can smile at parents when they see them, and who really care about children and their job. The teachers seem nice, but a few of them seem like they don't want to be there. My children have been going here since the age of 18 and 14 months respectively. The caregivers have turned the center into a home away from home. I know my toddler enjoys attending Childtime by the reaction I get when I mention Ms. Tiffany and Ms. Dolores. I also get an earful from my preschooler about Ms. Molly and Ms. Stella. I've been happy with each classroom and routine, but I am impressed by the Pre K class and how much my 4 year old is learning! Just amazing! My eldest loves room D. The room is organized in a way that encourages instruction and play, and I'm very pleased. Ms. Molly and Ms. Stella help guide the class and they balance each other's teaching styles too. I'm also pleased with the center's additional programs, year-round coverage, and the app that allows me to receive real-time activity/status updates throughout the day for both of my kids. While I agree that the director could improve her soft skills, she (and the assistant director, who tends to come off as more approachable) does a great job at keeping parents accountable and the center compliant. I have learnt to not take the center's policies, and the staff who enforce these policies, personally. It is part of doing business with a center vs. other less rigid set ups. Either way, issues or questions I've brought up to the director have been answered or dealt with satisfactorily. So far so good! read more

My 21/2 year old son has been going here for almost a year. He loves the teachers. I like the price. Under $200 a week and it includes food. They have playtime outside, lots of arts and crafts, singing and music, storytime. And they help potty train. My daughter loves this school! Her communication skills, and fine/gross motor skills are improving at an astonishing rate! Takes forever for us to leave because she needs to say bye to everyone! The BEST part is that they give you access to an app in which the teachers provide updates of your child including PICTURES! It's seriously the best little pick me up when I'm at work and I know my baby is having fun, and I know what they're doing. I see some reviews regarding behavioral issues. Some naughty kids have actually hit/hurt my child, and I do NOT want those kids around my daughter. It's only right for Childtime to protect your child's best interest. read more

I would have stuck to a 5 star, but there was an incident with my 2 yr old child where her arm was hurting so bad and crying inconsolably when we picked her up. Her arm was clutched to her body and wouldn't move it. We asked staff what happened and no one knew. One of the ladies said my daughter probably slept wrong during nap time. We couldn't even put her car seat buckles on without her screaming. It was very unusual for her, so we took her to the Emergency dept and they told us she had nurses elbow, which is when she is pulled too hard from the arm or and injury. I know kids get hurt, it's inevitable. But they usually call for any minor scratch and I was surprised they didn't inform right away if she in fact got hurt or was crying in this manner. the younger teachers are nice and good with kids. It's the older lady there that I caught pulling other kids a little too rough. I've also seen her talk a little bit too harsh to some kids. One time she was complaining that they had too many kids to watch over at once, and that it was out of ratio. Pretty much saying she was stressed... which I think she takes out on the kiddos. This update is long overdue, the incident happened shortly after I posted the review, but I still think about it because it was honestly traumatic to think that someone else could hurt your child. Thank you for taking the time to read this review on Childtime in Alhambra California. My son attended Childtime from October 2015 to just recently. This daycare provided the most unpleasant, stressful, situation that I can have possibly put my 2 year old and family through. Starting from the administration all the way down to the teachers. The director Pam has been there for over 25 years and does not show at least in my eyes that she has any child development education. My son was let go from this program because of his behavior, but the root of his behavior was not that he was bad but that he was developmentally delayed which I informed Pam the director that my son was being evaluated, and asked her for patience that I was in the process of transferring daycares that better fit his needs. She did not compromise, she actually terminated my son that Friday leaving me with no child care for Monday. I was shocked and in disbelief. Not only did this affect my son's education but my work and income. But when one door closes another opens. My son used to cry and fuss when I would dropped him off at CHILDTIME, now he runs in his new daycare at full speed with all smiles. As a parent it's the best, most peaceful feeling to know that your baby, your child is comfortable but most of all HAPPY at school. I DO NOT RECOMMEND CHILDTIME IN ALHAMBRA TO ANY FAMILY!! My son is in Ms. Debbie and Ms. Felicia's class. He's learned a lot in the time he's been there. He went from not recognizing letters and numbers to being able to point them out in public and able to write his name. I like how his teachers are patient and caring but firm when they need to be.
