I am truly blown away by the progress my son has made. My son turned 2 in December, and just five days later he started at Childtime. From the very beginning, I was amazed at how comfortable he became in such a short amount of time. Within three weeks, he confidently walks to his seat and tells me a sweet "bye, mama!" every morning. What really stands out is the level of education and communication. We receive weekly lesson plans, and I love seeing how much he's learning--things like shadows and light, and even animals I didn't realize he knew. He's surprised me at least three times already by talking about new animals at home! The staff is incredibly kind and genuinely makes my little guy feel loved and supported. This experience has completely changed my day at work, knowing he is in a school environment, not just daycare. Throughout the day, I receive photos, meal updates, and diaper change notifications, which gives me such peace of mind. They post so many sweet moments that I honestly forget to check the cameras--yes, they even have those too! I want to personally thank Dee, Arlette, Mary, Evette, Mari, Michelle, and Mosesta, along with the entire crew at East River. I have two boys at Childtime and the school is absolutely amazing! We had recently left a daycare that was horrible and Childtime came to our rescue. My boys are excited to leave for school everyday and have happy faces when we go to pick them up. Friendships, creativity and responsibilities are fostered at this center and my boys have already learned so much from the short 5 months they have been here. The director is one of the nicest people I have ever met and the teachers throughout the school are wonderful and kind. Weekly lesson plans are posted for parents to see and cultivate actual learning rather than simply babysitting. My eldest is going to Kinder in the Fall and I am saddened he will not return for the upcoming school year but my youngest will be back after the Summer and I cannot be happier. ***I am a teacher myself so I know good educators when I see them*** read more

I have my two babies that have been coming here for the last two years and I couldn't be more grateful for finding this place! Maritza and the entire team have been absolutely amazing in teaching my children through all their milestone achievements :) my daughter learned to write her name before starting kindergarten and my son learned how to communicate with sign language before talking and now speaks so well! they read to him they teach him animal sounds I've seen so much growth in what Ms.Mary and the toddler team has been doing with him it's amazing! i love the structure I see when I do come in and have respect for every teacher in here! If I could give more stars I would. My daughter is a confident and happy toddler and I know Childtime has so much to do with it. The teachers are kind, loving, fun, communicative, and educational. I feel they really know and care for my daughter so well. It's all a trickle down from strong leadership. The director is wonderful. She communicates and is collaborative with me and the teachers. I can count on her to know what is going on and to keep my daughter safe. If I email or call she answers right away and has been so kind and helpful to me as a first time mom. I've seen her work alongside teachers in a supportive manner. She sets the tone for the incredible community at Childtime and I am so grateful. We love this place. We enrolled our daughter here from infancy and stayed as long as we could. We withdrew her at age three after moving house to be closer to work. I wish we could have brought the entire staff along with us. Our daughter formed meaningful relationships with the staff--all of whom very clearly cared for her well-being, education, and happiness. We consider the staff at ChildTime on East River to be extended family. We will truly miss them all. Thank you, East River ChildTime. ***For parents that have your children there, PLEASE continue watching the cameras. After a month of voicing my concern week after week after week of how they feed my 7-month-old I had to call the AZ Department of Child Safety. The first time I called was to clarify if overfeeding a child was considered child abuse that falls under neglect like underfeeding. Their response was that it is in the gray area, so it would be up to the pediatrician's discretion. His pediatrician agreed that this can turn into a health issue for my baby. Once I told the director this, they finally were able to change his feeding time to every 3-4 hours instead of every 1-2 hours sometimes he was even getting feed again after 45 min. Second call to AZ dept. Child Safety, I actually filled a report because after letting my baby cry for 30 min on his stomach the caregiver picked up my baby from the crib so hard and fast that the mattress flew out the crib. I had told the director about this but all she said was "I'll talk to her". The other issue, but not a legal issue as the above mentioned, is the way the caregiver Liza Edwards talked to me. I was talking in English about his last feeding and diaper change, but a Spanish word slipped out. As she walked away laughing, she said "I never know what you're saying I just nod yes to everything you say". I still apologized to her for speaking Spanish in front of her, something I did not need to do. Ever since my baby started daycare he was sick, but I was already expecting that. I am a Registered Nurse with 8 years of experience and now a 3rd year medical student, and Liza still would give me medical advice. That wasn't the problem, it was the way she would tell me that she couldn't believe that I am not even concerned about my own child because I am not going to stay at home with him even though his pediatrician had already told me he is cleared to be there. A caregiver should never give medical advice to ANY parent. If a parent were to take her advice and the child would get worse or God forbid pass away, Childtime would be liable. Once again, I voiced my concern to the director and asked for a meeting every day last week with her, John (her boss) and Lisa, but she would just say not now. I took my baby out because he is definitely not safe there. She has so much attitude and even walked out the infants room for her break saying "I am so done so done". This type of person should not be there talking care of babies that can't talk yet. I told the directors about this many times, but the last thing I was told was "I can't fire someone based on their personality". I couldn't believe this response. I replied with, "you are correct, but one thing is some one's personality and the other is having attitude and being disrespectful. Imagine if you came to my hospital and I talked to you or your sick family member that way. Would you say something or just let it go because that's my personality according to you?" I won't take my baby back there but I will continue to let every be aware of what is going on in the hopes that there will be changes for the safety of the children still there. read more

Do not care for the children safety or the staff safety the kids are underfed they do not supply the staff with any help.

I have a 1and 6 months old son. He initially started Child time when he was about 1 in the infant room because he did not walk yet .In the beginning everything seemed great staff and facility. My son after a month or two was transitioned to the toddler room which I was content with because they had more activities. It all went down hill after the summer was over it seemed that the extra staff they had where students and since school started they did not have enough coverage. In addition the manager we initially spoke with left on maternity and the person left in charge did not reflect manager performance she was never available at the front desk. My husband and I would always drop off our son and stay for 30 minutes to interact and see how things where going . We started noticing that everyone played all the rolls and not very organized. Teachers left as managers and manager a teachers whether it was for the toddlers or infants. We pulled our son from the facility when he got injured while playing outside on his face near the nose and eye. Per the report the accident occurred at 10:00am and we received NO phone call of what had happened we picked him up around 5:00. The report detailed injury to head ,under nose ,exposure to blood scraped and yet NO communication. As a parent and imagine going in to pick up your child and Someone comes up and says (oh your child had an incident please sign this report form). We demanded answers to our concerns such as how many kids and how many teachers where total when incident occurred. Obviously no answer the supposedly manager was not their a teacher was Left in charge and she had no answers (yet they have cameras) did not provide footage or any details . As a parent we understand accidents happen they are kids but what is not acceptable is that their was no communication at what level of injury would they have called. It make one wonder how can you trust in living your child in their care thinking they are safe when something like this happens. We did speak with the director and he stated would research and find out what happened no phone call , email no follow up. read more

This is the worst child care I've ever put any of my kids in. First of all they allow child abuse. They are unorganized. They have no schedule really except nap time. The child to teacher ratio is always off. The staff has no support from there supervisor to help with the kids.The staff is burnt out and witness child abuse ultimately leading to them quitting constantly. There is no warmth here. Kids seriously hate it here. It's more like an institution. It's very cold. They give a false sense of security with the cameras. They are only there so you can watch your child get abused or taunted. They don't do anything about it. The worker will be on the same shift same class the next day ready put ur kids face one more time. Every time I looked at the camera something was wrong. Wether it be my daughter asking for a snack and following a teacher around the class. The teacher refusing to give her one and begin eating the kids snacks in front of her face. This went on for about 8 min. My daughter asking her for food and her pointing her to go away and the teacher eating HER snack while my daughter watched. Or just straight pushing a kids head yanking them around by there arms in fits of anger. Pushing the little boys head. Then trying to hold his head down on the mat putting her leg over him so he couldn't move for nap time cuz he didn't want to sleep. And the other workers in there doing nothing about it. Just look away. Once I went to drop off my daughter and a teacher rushed in to tell the manager that a child had been left in a room by himself and forgotten. My daughter lasted 2 weeks here ( yes this all happened in 2 weeks) and I pulled her out and had to call the police. I have to drive further but there is such a change in her it's worth it. You can tell she's happy at her new daycare. She wasn't happy at all here she never stopped crying when dropping her off and I thought that was maybe normal... it wasn't. Day 3 at her new daycare she wasn't crying and she ran to the teacher to hold her and was like bye mom. And guess what they're not the only daycare who has cameras. If you leave your kids here like I would seriously question you as a parent if you see what's going on and think that it doesn't effect your child in a huge way it does. I know maybe another facility might be a little more expensive or a little further but I promise promise it's worth it. read more

We absolutely love this school! We take pride in sending our girls to a place where safety and education are such a huge emphasis. All staff are loving, caring, and treat our children like their own. Our girls look forward to attending school each day, and we feel confident that they are extremely well taken care of while we are at work. Love this daycare! Video cameras in the classrooms so you can see your child during the day. Updates through an app about when they change their diaper,feed them,pictures of activities they do. Safety precautions during this pandemic. Temp checks everytime you go in. They require parents to wear face masks which i really like because it is protecting not only us but the workers. Love this daycare. They were the first daycare i looked at. Actually the only daycare i looked at. Love the directors. Anything that needs done they are on it. Great place. Similar to the reviewer below, our first impression of the place was not too bad, it is conveniently located, etc. What ensued next was nothing short of an unprofessional, neglectful and apathetic treatment by the team and management. If you want the best for your kid, which I am sure almost every parent does, think twice before heading this way, and read below. ------ My wife stops by one day around 5pm to pick up our 13-month old boy. When she walks in, she finds him in tears, with big bloodied scratch marks running from just underneath his left eye, down to his cheek. His chin also was bloodied, with a piece of flesh missing. He was sitting down in the lap of one of the employees who was trying to calm him down. Apparently, as she claimed, the incident had just happened. Another kid, they told us, had randomly attacked my boy by grabbing his face with his hands and biting at his chin. The injuries they said are due to the kid's long finger nails. Clearly, my wife was upset, and asked how could an injury happen to such an extent, with supervisors around. Note that, as this was around 5pm, there were only around 5-6 kids in the classroom. My wife rushed him to a nurse. Even though my wife is more upset about how could this happen when so few kids are around, I am more concerned about what this so-called "child care" did about it: nothing. Instead of apologizing, the staff kept telling my wife that these incidents usually happen, that the other child had long finger nails, and that this happened before with another child and no one made a fuss about it (implying we are). I am not sure a child-care facility that brushes away responsibility like that (using careless and insensitive language) is somewhere parents want to entrust their kids with. Case in point: no one called us to check on my kid at any point. My wife walks in the next day to talk to the supervisors, and I go in 2 days after the incident to pick up his clothes. In both visits, there were no apologies made, no questions about how our kid is doing, no sign of any care, with complete lack of responsibility and professionalism. I asked about the long-nails policy (none), disinfecting wounds in such situations (none), telling us about the other kid's health history if we have anything to worry about (none). Complete apathy. Their only focus was to brush this as a non-event. Even more concerning was that the management kept lying about the facts of the case. For example, they claim that there were 13 kids in the class when this happened. Not true. My wife saw 5-6 kids around 5pm. Also, they claim that this happened just as my wife was coming into the nursery: wounds appeared older for sure, as the picture evidence shows. When I faced them about their response and how they handled the case with apathy, they claim that they apologized to my wife when she was picking up our kid (with a bloodied face), as if their duty was fulfilled with that one alleged apology. The state health department was notified about this incident, and we were given advice about our rights and what the child-care had done wrong. Enough said here. No wonder this is the only nursery in the area that is still enrolling kids, whilst others around it have a 2-month wait period. You know where not to place your kid now I hope. read more

At first I was very pleased with Childtime on River, until I saw an employee named Ashley verbally abuse an 18-month old and manhandle my daughter (as detailed in the below story). When I raised the issue with those in charge, i was informed that she's been spoken to before about her behavior but basically since they're a corporation, they can't fire her. What?! There is a history of this woman treating children inappropriately but you can't do anything because Childtime is a corporation? That is absurd. Ashley works with the 1-2 year olds, but if you have a child between 2-3, they will basically consolidate the classrooms so that your child is with the 1-2 year olds in the afternoons, when the number of children starts to dwindle. I went to pick up my child one afternoon, and she was in the 1-2 year old room. I was informed that she had to go potty, so Ashley took her to the bathroom and was very gruff in pulling down her panties and then practically tossed her onto the toilet sideways. My daughter was trying to go and was looking at Ashley, who was glaring at her. I was shocked. I stepped in and said I would take it from there. Ashley held the door to the bathroom open while I was inside helping my daughter use the bathroom. At that time, a little girl around 18 months old pulled on Ashley's pant-leg in an effort to pull herself up to a standing position. Ashley bent down, glared at her and yelled, "Get OFF of ME!!" I turned to watch, my eyes practically popping out of my head. I was so stunned. The little girl plopped onto the floor and started to sniffle, staring up at Ashley with a sad face. Ashley then hissed at her, "Don't you cry!" and repeated it again in a slow threatening way. I could see the little girl was trying hard to stifle any emotions out of pure fear. After my daughter was finished, I picked her up and immediately went over to Ashley and asked for her name. I went straight to the director's office and told an employee who was then in charge, because the director was not working that day. She was shocked, and said she would discuss the issue with Ashley right away and then talk to the director. This was on a Friday. The following week, I asked what was being done about the situation. The director was again not there, but I was informed by the employee-in-charge that Ashley had been spoken to before about her behavior and that she has learning disabilities that cause her to speak out in inappropriate ways. Sorry to hear it, but doesn't that mean she shouldn't be working with little children if she can't control her temper and lashes out? I called back later to discuss the situation again with the employee I spoke with on Friday, and it was at that point I was told that Childtime is a corporation so that they cannot fire people unless HR and legal are involved. Okay, there's a protocol for layoffs. But this woman is clearly abusive to children, so I'm sure there's a cause exception. This is a daycare, the mental and physical well-being of toddlers is at stake, and she has a history of past transgressions. Since that experience, I followed up several times, and it was only after I explained I was an attorney that i was "assured" that a formal investigation would be launched. In the meantime, I informed Childtime that I wanted my daughter nowhere near Ashley. They moved her up to the 3s room, rather than down to the 1-2 year old room, in the afternoons. Over a month had gone by and Ashley was still working at Childtime. Clearly, nothing had been done. I'm not saying that all the caregiveres there are bad. In fact, I thought a lot of them were great, especially those for the older children; however, my concern is for those with younger kids and that the policy of the school is to prevent themselves from getting sued as opposed to caring for the well-being of the kids. It wasn't my daughter whom Ashley primarily berated and belittled, but it made me sick just watching someone do that to a completely defenseless toddler and just thinking that her parents had no idea that this was going on. That could have been my daughter and who knows if it ever was on other days. To top it all off, I was a parent in the classroom, so presumably she was on her "better" behavior. What is she like when no one is watching? And what kind of permanent emotional damage is she inflicting on these fragile little beings? I feel that a parent's worst nightmare is to leave a child with someone and not know that the child being abused. It is particularly sickening when the child is of an age that he or she cannot speak or explain what is going on. My worst nightmare of such a daycare situation was realized when I saw Ashley's behavior, but what's worse is that Childtime did nothing, and continues to do nothing, to prevent it and even knew that Ashley had a history of transgression. My sons was there for only 4 days. Not only is the place never clean, directors desk always messy with visible parent information, babies always crying on the floor with red faces, because of how long they been crying, boogies all smeared on their faces. I picked up my son after 6 hrs dropping him off. When I picked him up his dipper was supper wet, and he had pooped. When I open the dipper at the center, he had the biggest dipper rash all over his private area I had ever seen. (Bright red)sitting in a poopy dipper for obviously, the whole time I was gone. Got a hold of corporate, then the district Manager calls me to go over my concerns, and said he was looking into it, and would retrained the teachers. While he chewed his food while on the phone with me. A good employee comes from good leadership. That phone call proved it all. This center is a piece of crap, And I feel so bad for those babies and those little kids. They don't care about caring for ur kids, all they care about is that $240 a week.
