this place was horrible, here is the list: -host does not acknowledge you. -menu he was pretending to clean was not clean- it was sticky AND gritty, which is a strange combination -Waitress Team did not work out, I guess each of them thought someone else was serving me. Neither waitress was good and neither asked how I was doing. All I got out of them was excuses. Really, the first waitress says, "High Im XXX, I got caught making a desert and didnt have time to come over here." What I heard was YOU suck and all these other people are eating and well, Ill get to you when I can. -Brocoli was gritty, same stuff from the menus???? not sure -basically I got tired of asking for stuff AND no, I did not even complain, I did not ask for anything other than onions on my chili and hot sauce. Just left Chili's in Auburndale. I hope the people waiting to be seated have a better meal and service then my family did. First upon arrival place almost empty we were a party of 7 took ten minutes to seat us with 6 tops open. We were given menus that had never seen a wipe down mine had dried food inside it. We ordered chips and an appetizer combo and were given 4 plates. Daughter ordered a frozen Marguerita after waiting a long time finally got the waiters attention for the drink. He came back to table to let us know the machine was broken. We placed our order granddaughter wanted chicken and waffles plain. Our dinner arrived in a timely fashion. My salad was swimming in dressing but I forgot to say dressing in the side. Chicken and waffles came with all the dressing on it so it was sent back and the new dinner arrived when the rest of us were done with the meal. When asking for the check the frozen drink was still on had to ask for it to be removed. We have learned our lesson and will not return. This restaurant does not deserve even one star. Lots of disappointment at this location. Greasy stale chips, soggy eggrolls and for some reason they don't know the difference between boneless and bone in wings. 4 out of 5 times they have screwed up on my wing orders. Servers have never given me problems about correcting orders and managers have made appearances to personally apologize. We love chilis as a family but we just walked in to this location and we were waiting for a table when they were many available. Servers walked right by and never asked if we needed service. We decided to sit ourselves in the bar area where we thought was first come first serve area and were told we could not sit there. Waited again by the front until we decided if it took that long to get seated how long would it take to get the food? Hope service at this location gets better because we like to eat at this chain, may have to rethink on eating at this location if we do not have a 2 hour window. read more

I tried to place an order to the chilis app and the app wasn't working. This is not the first time this happened with this restaurant. I called the restaurant and they didn't answer. I called several times until they answered the phone and I asked about the issue with the app and the lack of answering the phone. The person on the phone told me they were very busy and that's why they deactivated the app. I placed the order with her on the phone and when I went to the restaurant to pick up the order I talked to her again about the same issue. I told her I would make a complain about this and when I took my food to leave she started making funny on my comment with other coworkers saying "oh he is making a complain, he is making a complain". I turn back into the pickup area and she got into the kitchen. I asked to another employee to tell the manager I needed to talk to him immediately. I spoke to him about the app issue and the employee attitude. I was very upset with this situation and decided I'm not going back to that restaurant. I found that restaurant has 2 out of 5 in reviews and I guess it is because of situations like this one. I would suggest Chilis company to do something unless they want to keep losing clients. read more

Bar area was filthy from table tops to booths, floors. There were approximately 10 people in the area total so it was extremely slow. Been a long time since I went to a Chili's. The one near me closed after many years of poor management and food. So, after the ad campaign of them going back to their roots I decided to try this one. Actually went two times. First, it was obvious that they are poorly managed. Servers not smiling, tables not cleaned in a timely fashion. Two of us ordered the grilled chicken breast avocado sandwich for lunch on a slow day. I wondered if I made a mistake when after my friend ordered the turkey sandwich the waitress told him it was the best on the menu. So, there was nothing grilled about the chicken. No grill marks, no grill flavor and it was not marinated in any way. Half a slice of bacon on both halves. So didn't get it in every bite. Needed it because that was the only flavor. Sadly, the best thing about the sandwich was the bread it came in. Soft and fresh. We both agreed the sandwich was disappointing. The good news was that the turkey sandwich came as advertised and was enjoyed. Went back for dinner the next evening (crowded weekend). Had a better and happier server who recommended the fajitas. I was a big fan of their fajitas when I lived in Texas many moons ago. It was a two meat special price and when they arrived I realized why they were discounted. The amount of chicken and shrimp received was well below what I remembered. Even though our waitress said the chicken was marinated when I ordered it, it didn't taste like it and showed little to no grill marks. Received primarily onions over peppers and both were still crunchy, uncooked, so no carmelization of them as I remembered. Again, that is where the flavor really comes from. Asked for no sour cream and to replace it with extra guac. No problem she said but it didn't come that way. The pico looked like it had been sitting in the bin since lunch time as the tomatoes looked unappealing. The shrimp were tiny, flavorless and few. Thankful we had a good waitress as she corrected most the issues very well. We received our appetizers but needed plates. She brought me the extra guac quickly after checking on our food arrival. She refilled all drinks and remembered who had the half and half versus unsweet tea. But a good waitress does not make up for poor food. Sadly this restaurant has similar problems to the one that closed in my area. Not sure if it is a lack of caring because of poor pay or just poor management or both. This is a people business. If your don't treat your people well your customers pay the price and will not be happy. read more

Decided to give them another chance. After standing there waiting for the hostess to finish with her cell phone, she finally waited on us. Despite having 7 empty tables in an entire section we were told it would be a 20 minute wait. When asked why with all the empty tables we were told the kitchen was backed up. Ok there are only so many tables, you can only have so many orders, so you can't really get unexpectedly busy, but even so if I have to wait i would rather sit at a table with drinks and chips versus outside for 20 minutes. This is the same hostess as last time the elderly lady with gray hair. She is literally the worst hostess ever. read more

Don't go on Monday or Tuesday....but any other day is amazing. Bar tenders Amanda, Nichole and Morgan are great! If there is a place to sit, scoop it up and someone will clean it!! There is three amazing servers...Amber, Michele and there is a guy I don't know his name!!! Food has always been good. If it's busy, as any normal restaurant, might be a wait or a mistake. Today 3 of us had lunch together. We had the worse service ever. Whats funny is the last time we were there we gave a compliment when the manager came around about our server. Today our server rattled off some selections so quickly our elderly mother couldn't understand. Then my food come out incorrect. When they brought it back it was wrong again but I didn't say anything. Our server refilled one drink then never came back to offer refills on our drinks, not once!. As a matter of fact she never came back to our table at all!!! We waited and waited and could not get her attention. We wanted refills and a to go box. She never returned to our table. I refuse to ever eat at the Auburndale location ever again. There was food piled under the table, which we asked our server to clean up (and she never did). It was slow and we were her only table. The food took 50 minutes to come out and wasn't very good. Had to wait 5 minutes after food was delivered for silverware, both of which were dirty with food crusted to them, so we asked for another set, same issue. The place is just nasty. Finally had to ask for wrapped Togo silverware just to eat. A manager never stopped by the table either. I'm a server myself, and very easily pleased at a restaurant, but this was just downright disgusting. read more

This is one of the worst chili's I have ever been to. Our experience started with a 6 minute wait just standing at the host stand waiting to be acknowledged by any of the 5 staff members that walked by. Finally a man walked up and emptied a bunch of food crumbs into a little bucket and proceeded to grab menus to seat us in bar area at a table. There we are waiting again for service. Ah, finally we are greeted. We exchanged hello with the server and luckily are able to give her our drink and food order. The chips salsa come out before the drinks... we nibbles on the chips and salsa for quite some time before the drinks, napkins and plates were provided. while we wait for our Lunches to come out there were three tables that were still sitting dirty ( from the time we arrived and even after we left) with several dishes, cups and Trash. The host finally gets around to cleaning one of the tables and seats it shortly after. It was pointed out that there was something spilled on floor, the host gets a cloth and mops up the spill on floor and then proceeded to clean another table using the same cloth he just used on the floor. Overall if you can get past the lack of service and sanitation, you won't be disappointed. read more

We have been to a few Chili Restaurants in other areas and wanted to check this one out. Service was slow, only a few people in the restaurant and we had to wait five minutes to be seated. The food was not very good and it was Cold. I ordered the maragarita special for $5.00 but was charged the $8.99 regular price. The very last time I went a huge roach crawled across our table and onto one of our plates of food. I had to kill the roach with a napkin and our waitress brushed it off & said "sorry bout that. I've given this location the benefit of the doubt far to many times. No matter if we have eaten there for lunch or dinner, in the bar, restaurant, or even take out... We have had numerous issues. I've had my order screwed up countless times; been brought the wrong order completely, been served food 15 mins before the rest of the table... I mean this list could go on and on. I understand that sometimes mistakes happen in the kitchen...But at this location they happen all to often. I doubt I will be returning again after tonight. I placed an order online around 8pm. The 2 for 20 deal- pasta and a burger. The site told me it would be ready at 8:30. So I got there at 8:30. The to-go server was very nice and explained they were just waiting on my pasta. TWENTY MINUTES later they finally have my order ready. So if they were waiting on the pasta did the make the rest and let it sit there the 20 minutes until it was ready? Cause let me tell you that's what it tastes like. Not only was the burger and cheese fries cold... But so was my "fresh" pasta. The server brought it out to me and said "careful, it's hot" was he being sarcastic? Only living about 5-10 minutes away my food shouldn't have been anywhere near as cold as it was. Sadly this is the only option other than fast food on this side of town- I'll be making the drive next time we want to order take out. read more

ZERO STARS... Friday at 5 pm. We ordered and only after complaining did we receive our food OVER an HOUR LATER. This is a bit excessive. No apology from the waitress (Tiffany). She acted like it was normal and didn't see a problem at all. My first Skinny Patron Margarita was great. The second was not drinkable. My husband took it to the bar himself because otherwise it would have never gotten there and was told "I am the only bartender and if you don't like that one then you won't like the 2nd one either because I'm the only one making them." So he returned with the same drink. The manager, apparently, made me another drink (my husband saw the bartender make) and it was drinkable and as good as the first. My son never got another apple juice that was asked for. My other son's hamburger was ordered plain however it came with everything on it. My bacon ranch chicken quesadillas looked like half of them had been deep fried. There were not many people when we showed up at 5 and were told by the hostess that most of the staff doesn't get there until 5:30... An odd thing to say to customers. When we left at 7 o'clock the line was out the door. This must be why they don't really care. read more

My Mother's Day dinner with my daughter and my niece and my son-in-law was absolutely horrible as my food was undercooked the servers never came the drinks were never refilled and the place was filthy to the point to where I wanted to up and leave but I was so overwhelmed with Hunger I took one bite of the food and then felt sick right after. the servers sat around doing nothing conversating and the manager himself was barely doing anything sitting around looking at the dirty tables that weren't cleaned or dealt with. I also need to point out the fact that there were people served before me with piping hot food& on my table was served with cold undercooked food my Mother's Day dinner has been horribly ruined and I will never be eating at that establishment ever again. I was not asked how I would like my burger cooked. Had to ask for clean forks and knives repetitively. I do not know who does the hiring for this particular chilis, but in my opinion in the restaurant service for over 18 years they need to be fired. read more

Dine-in experience is decent but I'm writing about the AWFUL Togo staff service they have here. I only live a mile from this chili's so we order here almost once a week. Every single time without fail there is something missing from our Togo order. They never double check the order in front of us, just give me the food and rush us out. This time I ordered we were missing 5 different items from the order, from sauces to drinks and didn't even give us salsa with our chips. Would not recommend using this chili's if you want to get Togo food without having to thoroughly check your bag every time you order after they have already claimed they checked it and "everything is in the bag". Never once have we received a correct and full order. Management is not very helpful at all and they definitely need to get ahold of their Togo staff. This time we had to go back in to get the missing items from our order and it took an extra 20 minutes just for some sauces and drinks... I'm disgusted with this chili's. It's just pathetic at this point. read more

I've been here about three times and it has been disappointing every time. Went there tonight with my parents, little brother and my wife. We got two orders of chips with salsa and almost all the chips were broken into small pieces. My parents and wife ordered soups. My wife and Fathers soup came but my mother's didn't come out until after they were already done with theirs. My father called the chili disgusting. I got the "triple dipper" for my meal. the fried pickles tasted terrible( I've had much better), the burger sliders were overcooked and dry, and the chicken crispers were burnt. it was so bad I didn't even eat most of it. my wife had ribs that tasted bad. she didn't like the Mac and cheese. even the BBQ sauce was bad. waitress asked if something was wrong and we told her I didn't like my food. all the manager did was give us fries to go. didn't even take anything off the bill, which was high. apparently a bottle of beer is $6 and the margaritas are like $12 and are mostly ice. normally don't complain about price, but they're definitely not worth that much. I definitely will suggest against going to chili's next time my parents want to have dinner out with us. read more

Unbelievably bad from the beginning. After just over 5 minutes of waiting before we saw someone emerge on the floor, we were seated. After we were seated another 12 minutes passed before we seen a waitress. We told her we were ready to order and showed an email I had gotten earlier in the day from Chili's. She said that's the first she saw that one. Over 5 minutes later she came back and asked to see my email on my phone again. She walked away with it saying while she's walking, "I'm showing this to my manager." After a couple of minutes she returned because I was getting a phone call. That's a BIG no-no taking someone's phone with my information on it. Then finally the manager shows up to tell us they won't honor it. We complained about the 30 minutes of events leading up to this and he smarted off and tried to side step the taking of my phone issue. Rather than any real explanation he simple decided to embarrass us with tables full surrounding us, and said they weren't honoring it. I guess I should have read the reviews before going. One star is an above average rating. The last time I was at this location I had to sit through fowl language discussions coming from the kitchen. Never again. read more

I did a carside pick up. I ordered the $10.00 hamburger meal and a 2 for $20.00. The hamburger was dry and so were the ribs. The chicken was the best thing in the whole dinner and it did not even have all the fixings. The fried pickles were minus the breading and cold. I called and the manager and explain my concerns. She in turn stated she would give me a desert for presentation. I was appalled. I told her a desert would not fix this problem. She then offered to replace my meals. I didn't even bother to go and get them. I had my son give them to my grand children. I'm done with that location. read more

Waitress was nice enough, but the cook was horrible. We purchased the fried pickles and bacon ranch quesadilla and both came out lukewarm and horribly made. Fried pickles had almost no batter on them and tasted old, the quesadilla had no cheese, and the tortilla was hard and brittle and burnt. Overall, horrible experience. read more

We go to the Chili's in Auburndale and absolutely love it! We always have awesome service. Our food is always excellent! We go to Chili's more than any other restaurant. They have this balloon person that walks around and makes balloon animals for the children. My son loves having different animals made. The 2 for 1 specials for the drinks is another reason we frequent our neighborhood Chili's. Keep up the good work guys!! read more
