Went here to celebrate my dad's birthday today and honestly my dad doesn't know how to leave a review but I'm doing it in his favor. He noticed how clean the restaurant is and how fast service was too. He left very satisfied and we've been going to this location several times, he's a very picky person so the service and food here leaves him always feeling extremely impressed. He loved every minute of it and he'll be back soon again to enjoy another meal here with family and friends.

Met three former co-workers here for lunch and we were seated in a booth in the bar area. The bartender was our server and was excellent (and had a great sense of humor). I ordered the Oldtimer Burger which came with fries. We came at the lunchtime rush so it took about 20 minutes for our food to come out. My burger had cheese, pickles, tomato, and lettuce (I requested no onion). The burger was juicy and everything on the burger was fresh and flavorful. The bun had been grilled and was very greasy - by the time I finished I felt like I'd washed my hands in a tub of Wesson oil. The fries were just fine as was my iced tea. It was a decent meal enhanced by great service. This Chili's is located at Downtown Buena Park mall so there is a ton of parking.

So many different food options and great combos at Chili's, including soups, salads, burgers, sandwiches, steaks, chicken, and pasta. Typically timely and friendly service. No complaints! Good location for dates, family dining, or any occasion

I ordered medium. They gave me medium rare steak

steak prepared incorrectly another male manager handled that appropriately free chips mistakenly charged by Vanessa I showed the offer which was sitting on table from minute 1 as I entered instead of correcting it, Vanessa the manager accused me of logging in after she printed the receipt and accused me of having an attitude! She also said "our tap to pay doesn't work, it's on the door" -- lol, No tip!

I've come to this location with my little family already probably 10+ times, I've had a waitress named Jessica (usually in the booths by the check in ladies) about 3 or 4 times already , and she's such a sweetheart everytime we come in. I just hope she knows she makes every single encounter we have with her amazing and so easy! Every visit I've had at this location was great service and food . Management is doing great obviously cause I've never had a waiter/waitress having a bad day and visibly showing it since I've dined here. Went last night and felt very urged to make this post becus of our waitress jessica!!!

It was a busy Monday! Our host was very nice and we wanted to sit in the booth instead of the high chairs so we waited 15-20mins. Our server Jessica did a phenomenal job! She was very friendly and attentive. I would say she was the best sever I ever had, thank you for making our experience wonderful. Chips & salsa 7/10! Watermelon tea 6/10 Triple dipper: everything was on point crunchy and delicious. 9/10 Ultimate smokehouse 9/10! Lava cake 10/10 was very yummy

Stopped by our local B.P. Chili's after the batting cages for some delicious burgers, nachos, and fun margaritas. We were seated quickly in their cozy and comfortable little dining room and feasted on deliciousness for a while as we were catching up on stories and activities. Our awesome and friendly server delivered our meals in a timely manner and we can't wait to return soon!! Thank you Chili's

My friends and I came to Chili's on a busy night but we were still seated pretty quickly and our server, Christian C, was fantastic! He was so attentive and friendly. This was actually my second time having him as a server.

Finally, I got to leave a Chili's without being mad! This location was in a mall parking lot (like most). We had to park a little ways away because it was Saturday night and the place was busy! We had a 30 minute wait but there was places to walk. When they sent a text message letting us know our table was ready, we walked right back. Even though it was busy, the waitress was great! The problem with most Chili's is that the places are understaffed. I couldn't tell if this place had a staff shortage as our waitress was always there when we needed her. I have the app and there was bottomless chips and salsa. Be careful, the chips are addictive! We had some great cocktails too. I recommend the Coconut Margarita. Even the friends at the table were in live with it! The food came out in a reasonable timeframe. It was the right temperature and taste. We couldn't fit desert. We left full! Everyone in the group gave this place the "thumbs up."

I found out about it through my cousin, who's a UCR alum, and I'm really glad I finally got to try it. The staff were super nice and attentive, constantly coming by our table to check if we needed more water, tortillas, or anything else we might want. Even with how busy it was, they still made sure everyone was taken care of, which I really appreciated. The restaurant was packed, and it actually surprised me because I don't usually see that many people at restaurants in Riverside. The energy inside felt lively but still comfortable. One of my favorite parts was the fresh tortillas. They come out hot and fresh from the oven, and you can literally watch them being made right in front of you, which made it even better. And the best part is they're free. We ordered the carne fajitas and chile relleno. The fajitas were incredible, the meat was juicy, tender, and packed with flavor, with that perfect smoky sear that comes from being cooked fresh on a hot skillet. Everything came out sizzling and stayed flavorful with every bite. The chile relleno was also really good, with a nice balance of savory and slightly creamy filling that paired well with the sauce. It was actually my first time trying fajitas, and I can confidently say I'll be ordering them again the next time I come back. I definitely plan on returning while I'm still at UCR to make up for all the years I didn't know this place existed.

I came last year and had an interaction with a young lady taking orders when I asked for Taquitos Tejanos with no cheese. She corrected me by saying, "So you just want taquitos?" It wasn't what she said so much as the tone and the look I received. I thought, okay, my apologies--I must have ordered it wrong. Despite that, we've continued coming because this place has always felt like a second home to me. I'm Tejana, and although I can make my own puffy tacos, we come here because the food takes me back to San Antonio. The other night, we ordered more than 15 tacos with different fillings. I specifically ordered two asada tacos on flour tortillas with only lettuce and cheese. When we got home, they had tomatoes and no cheese. I also ordered a puffy picadillo taco, and it barely had any lettuce or cheese. These tacos aren't cheap, and I don't mind paying the price when the quality is there--but please don't start getting skimpy with the toppings or inconsistent with orders. If the new generation is taking over, that's completely fine. But please teach them the importance of consistency and, most importantly, being polite to customers. A little kindness goes a long way. I'm sharing this because I genuinely care about this place and would love to see it continue to feel like the "second home" it has been for me for so many years.

How did HomeState, a restaurant celebrated for bringing an authentic taste of Texas to Southern…read moreCalifornia, become so beloved in a city synonymous with the LA street taco? Most people would point to its outstanding tacos, built on pillowy, made-from-scratch flour tortillas and comforting Austin-style Tex-Mex fillings. HomeState emphasizes slow-cooked meats, warm hospitality, and the welcoming food culture that Texas is known for. They are also well known for their perfectly seasoned eggs, making their breakfast tacos especially popular. I ordered two of their Anytime (Daytime) Tacos: the Picadillo (grass-fed ground beef, potatoes, carrots, cabbage slaw, and pickled jalapeños) and the Chicken (organic achiote-marinated chicken, cabbage slaw, and guacamole). The achiote-marinated chicken was exceptionally tender, juicy, and well-seasoned. The achiote gave the meat its signature deep-orange hue and subtle earthy flavor, while the generous portions of creamy guacamole and crisp cabbage slaw added freshness and a satisfying crunch. The Picadillo taco was equally impressive. The combination of seasoned ground beef, tender potatoes, sweet carrots, crunchy cabbage slaw, and tangy pickled jalapeños created a delicious balance of flavors and textures. A few generous dabs of HomeState's housemade hot sauces elevated it even further. The seasoned beef paired with the red salsa reminded me of a Taco Bell Burrito Supreme--but made with fresher, higher-quality ingredients, more texture, and a welcome kick from the jalapeños, all without the sour cream. These tacos do not hold together for very long, but that is largely because the fillings are so juicy and generously portioned. It was a trade-off I was more than willing to accept. The undisputed star of the meal, however, was the fresh flour tortillas. They lived up to every expectation--pillowy soft, perfectly thick, buttery, and incredibly fresh. They were not just a vessel for the fillings; they were the defining element of the entire meal and easily the highlight of my visit. To wash everything down, I ordered the hibiscus limeade. The refreshing blend of steeped hibiscus, fresh lime juice, and agave syrup struck a perfect balance between tart and sweet, making it an ideal companion to the rich tacos. Traditional LA street tacos will always define the city's taco culture, but HomeState has carved out its own loyal following by embracing something entirely different. When you are craving Austin-style Tex-Mex and some of the freshest, fluffiest flour tortillas you will find anywhere in Los Angeles, HomeState absolutely delivers. 4.5 stars

You can tell they take pride in what they do, and it shows in every order that comes out of the kitchen. Their hot sauce is incredible and easily my favorite anywhere. It is one of those flavors you do not forget and a big reason I keep coming back week after week. I eat here about once a week and have for years, and I can recommend just about everything on the menu. My go to is the chips and cheese, which is an absolute must, along with the shredded beef tacos, potato tacos, and enchiladas. They also have great carne asada fries, and what makes them stand out is that they use thick, golden crispy fries instead of the thin shoestring kind, which makes a huge difference. They even have something you will not find anywhere else, enchilada fries, which are fries covered in enchilada sauce and cheese, and you can add carne asada if you want. It is simple and incredible. The ambience is part of what makes this place so special. It is a small family owned spot that is always clean and comfortable. Everyone inside, including the customers, is friendly, and there is always a good vibe because people are genuinely happy to be there enjoying the food. Sometimes there is a small TV on, and other times you will hear music playing from behind the counter, which just adds to the charm. It feels welcoming, relaxed, and real. It is a cash only place, but they do have an ATM inside, so it is easy to plan for. At the end of the day, there is just nothing like Little Caboose. Unfortunately, this time the experience didn't quite meet my expectations. Don't get me wrong, the food wasn't bad. My disappointment was more about the value and portion size for what I paid. Three slices of brisket, a small cup of pulled pork, and three small sides came to around $60. Not to mention, the pulled pork was rather dry. There were no dinner rolls or cornbread included either. I was also disappointed with how the food was packed for my to-go order. Proper packaging is important, especially when transporting food, because leaks can make a mess in your car or elsewhere. Unfortunately, the packaging did not seem secure enough to prevent that, and it did not add much value to the overall experience. For that price, especially after making a 20-mile drive, I expected either a more generous portion or something exceptional enough to justify the cost. If the price had been more reasonable, or the quantity better matched the price, I definitely would have considered coming back. Unfortunately, at $60 for what I received, it just wasn't worth the drive for me.
