2 stars for service! My husband and I stopped in for lunch today. The restaurant was fairly empty but we had to wait 10-15 minutes to be acknowledged by our waitress,( we were just about to leave). We ordered right away and after another 10-15 minutes we were advised that they were out of the soup that we ordered. Ok, we switched to another soup and house salad...no problem. We were finally served our food. The food was what we ordered and ok, but my husband had no spoon for the soup. After another 10 minutes she brought a spoon. We are not picky people and always try to give the servers a break, but this was really bad, Fortunately we were only driving through Frederick, but we will not go back there! read more

I called in a reservation this past Saturday. The restaurant is located in a easily accessible location by Texas Roadhouse. The food is actually pretty good for a chain restaurant. I ordered a delicious sirloin that came out on a steamy hot plate. I definitely recommend giving this place a try. My waitresses was on key during the entire visit. I was okay with waiting because most places are crowded on Saturday night. I plan on coming back bc I love their steaks!! read more

The restaurant was very busy at the time that we went in, which we were very patient and understanding for an hour and a half. We happened to notice other customers coming in roughly 20 minutes after us, get their food before us and within 60 minutes of them sitting down. We noticed our waitress was at the bar making drinks while there was many other waiters and waitresses roaming about the restaurant serving their customers. It was at that point we had to get up ourselves and remind the waitress we were still there and waiting for our food. They finally prioritized us and the food came out within 2 minutes after that. We understand mistakes happen and either our order wasn't put in or another waiter/waitress grabbed it by accident. So we started eating our food and noticed that our order was very rushed and the chicken was very undercooked. At this point our patience was on thin ice. We just figured forget it and ate the sides to the entrees at that point and mentioned to the waitress the undercooked chicken and that we didn't want a replacement order. We figured we'll just hopefully get a discount on our order or a coupon for a future dine-in. Nope. They said the best they could do was a military discount (Gee, was the military tattoos on my arms and faded haircut not obvious?) We had to pay for everything, even what we didn't eat because They undercooked it. No future discounts or anything. Just a nice $4 off the entire meal. (Don't get me wrong, I'm not unappreciative of military discounts. I give plenty of thanks and most of the time pay the money off back to them with a tip.) My husband and I love going to chilis for a solid cheap date night. For a chain restaurant, chilis always delivers. Finally one is in frederick! And it's just that, a solid chain restaurant. It's been open for almost a year now, the hustle and bustle has settled down, and it's a good place to go for a decent meal. I always love Chili's and for the most part the Frederick Chilis is good. The service is usually the worst part. Samantha has always been great and we usually try and get her. The others have been not so great. We have sat at the bar area a few times and when Samantha wasn't working we always get disappointing service. read more

Came to meet my wife and daughter for an early dinner. When I showed up they had been seated for 15 minutes and no wait staff had even been to the table. My daughter had flagged down a passing server but still no one has come by. I said something to the hostess' who looked like deer in headlights. About 5 minutes later 2 of the hostess came over and attempted to get us drinks. I asked for a manager and when she came over she was apologetic. Basically we had been sat in a section where the server had no shown up. A server cane over a minute later, saying although this wasn't his section he'd help us out. Joey was very helpful and insured that we had everything we needed. The food was as we remembered it, so that wasn't an issue. The issue was the hostess just didn't have a clue. read more

Stayed anyway only because a very nice waiter jumped right in to help. It took at least 15 min for drinks . . . and that's no exaggeration. There was at least 5 tables including the actual bar that weren't bussed which is always a bad sign. We ordered chips and salsa which came out on time. Shortly after we ordered more salsa... that never came. We ended up ordering something quick like a quesadilla & no surprise. . that never came out either. They weren't busy enough to be that behind and we never saw a manager once. We figured it wasn't worth dealing with a manager who clearly doesn't care about anything that has to do with cleanliness or a sense of urgency regarding their restaurant. This Chilis could be much better & have raving reviews with the proper management. Location is great too, but all of that amounts to nothing when the manager doesn't know how to manage. This was my first visit to this location. We arrived at 5:30 on the Saturday before Mother's Day. The location was not busy at this time. There were plenty of open tables. We decided to sit at a bar table. We were not greeted for at least 4-5 minutes. When we ordered margaritas we did not receive them for at least 10 minutes. We put in our food order at 6 o'clock. We received our food 40 minutes later. Our server was very nice. It was unfathomable to me as why a restaurant that had open tables could not get food out to a table for 40 minutes. We had two medium rare, sirloin steaks with broccoli, a kids pizza, and a kids macaroni and cheese. Not sure if we'll be coming back. read more

I don't usually write Yelp reviews for major chain restaurants as my expectations are never too high, but this place was sooooo not good. I gave two stars bc my waiter Jeremiah was really nice and accommodating. I should have ran after my dinner salad came out it was a mix of spinach, spring mix, and iceberg lettuce. The iceberg was not fresh and was brown. Once my meal came my steak was much closer to well done than medium as I ordered it but I was too hungry to complain. That was before I tasted the loaded potatoes they literally had a texture of what I imagine glue mixed with flour would be like. I love bacon and cheese but I couldn't even bring myself to eat that off the top of the potatoes. My side of shrimp wasn't on my plate so I asked for it after attempting to pretend my dinner was good bc I was so hungry. My waiter went to check on them and came back to inform me that they didn't make the plate bc the shrimp that was ready wasn't fresh but they were making me some. When I got them they were laughable and had a weird rank taste to them. I soldiered through the broccoli that had replaced the potatoes and my asparagus which was actually pretty good. My waiter came to ask me how things were going and I jokingly told him they were just 'going' nothing spectacular. Ironically my spicy margarita was AWESOME!!! My waiter finally brought me my check and informed me that he talked to his manager and they comped half of my meal bc even he was not satisfied that I really didn't enjoy my meal. (I never said I wanted a discount or anything) I kindly thanked him and tipped him the difference that I was comped for being such a proactive and accommodating waiter. I ordered carry out two days in a row from this location. Both days my order was incorrect and I was forced to have them remake the food. Today my order was missing the dessert. The hostess joked "one day we will get your order right". They will not be getting another opportunity to make it right. I don't understand how it's so difficult to leave blue cheese off of a salad. The first time the manager took my salad back with an attitude as if I was the one inconveniencing them. I did not even receive an apology on their mistake. This is my second time here, the first time was during there opening week and the food was grossed then but I figured since it's been sometime now maybe things have changed, well I was wrong. Hubby and I visited chili's for dinner the other night and sat in the bar. The table was less than clean, a little sticky actually. The absolute only reason I gave two stars was because of our server, who was incredibly nice. My husband ordered a sunrise burger and a beer and I ordered a sirloin steak and asked for a side salad with my vegetables. The steak was to be medium rare. we waited for approximately 12 trivia games... I know that because I played every one on the menu and then some. Our meals finally came and the manager brought them out. my husbands meal looked OK, though the plating was horrible and I could tell almost immediately that my steak was over done. The manager asked me to cut into it to make sure it was medium rare. I cut into it and it was actually well done. He apologized and said he would go back and get me another one. I encouraged my husband to continue eating so his food did not get cold. he finished his dinner we played some more trivia and finally had to call someone over to ask about my food. Shortly there after the food came out, and while the steak was definitely medium rare the broccoli was rockhard as if it had been taken right off of a salad bar. The mashed potatoes that came with it we're not what I requested and I wouldn't have eaten them if they were. They were in a cast-iron pan and looked as if they had been reheated a time or two, were bland and I believe there was probably more cheese than potato. Chili's has always been a go to for us in other cities. I was excited to see Frederick get one, and this was our first visit here. Needless to say we will not be returning. My family and I have dined here many times with no problem. This past Saturday, my husband and child dined in for lunch. Our server, Chelsey, was training another employee. We had questions on the wings and asked for crispy, never being explained that what we ordered would go though oven twice to attain that. They arrived looking unpleasant and inedible, I never complain or return food, but I did for the first time. Lunch came and looked as inedible - meats looked plastic and tasted horrible. To add on, the server never returned to the table - sending the trainee to handle us. We were not loud so didn't deserve rude service. We won't be back. read more

Food is great. Service is good once you get someone to wait on you. Been here about 3 times in the past month and it seems to take forever to have someone take your order. I also seem to see the same hostess all the the time and she seems to be very cold and never smiles, (the reason for the 4 stars, not 5) I did have one of the best steaks I ever had though, Rib eye with garlic butter on top, excellent choice! I let my daughter choose the restaurant for her birthday dinner. I had never been to Chili's before and neither had she or my son but we wanted to try someplace new. After seeing the people waiting to be seated we sat in the bar area and the waitress took our drink orders fairly quickly and then came back in a timely manner to take our orders. We ordered soup and salad and my daughter had a large appetizer. 45 minutes later we were still waiting for our food to arrive. I went to the bathroom which was trashed and the floor very slippery. (I was wearing sneakers.) Our waitress came back to our table and told us the order had gotten "pushed back" and another server had taken my daughters appetizer so they would have to remake it. Another 15 minutes later we got all of our food. The food was ok. It was mostly soup and salad, hard to mess that up. The manager came over and apologized and said the meals were on him but I will not go back to this place and I'm sorry I went this time. There are too many other places to celebrate special occasions around Frederick that are clean and have exceptional service. However, we did tip our waitress well. Not all her fault. Well, third time is a charm and we won't be back again. Husband's burger was over cooked 2 out of the 3 times we've come, and this time it was like a charcoal brick. Last time it took almost an hour to get us 2 burgers, and it wasn't that busy at all. They comped our meal last time so we decided to give it another shot tonight. Bad idea. Our server was wonderful, however, it still took 45 minutes for a burger and a plain cheese quesadilla. Nothing fancy. Nothing extra. The quesadilla was gross, and it had clearly been sitting under a heat lamp for God knows how long until the burger was ready. Long enough to cook the lettuce and pico de gaio that came with it, and the cheese was super hard and crispy and disgusting. Seriously disappointed. Meh...just meh. We have been there twice since they opened and have been disappointed both times. Very slow service, bland and cold food, and several mistakes. Also, if you're going to have tablets on the table for convenience, it should be an option for the customers' convenience, not the server's and not a requirement. On our 2nd visit, the server stood at our table and asked if we wanted dessert. We said yes and told her what we wanted. She then told us to order them through the tablet. Huh? Service was not great, food wasn't any better. All things considered, I figured I would give them the benefit of the doubt and try again at a later date. Tonight, several weeks after their grand opening, I attempted to have dinner here again. To my surprise, it was a far worse experience than my first attempt. Only positive thing this time was that I was greeted and promptly seated within 60 secs. The service on the other hand was dreadful. My drink order was taken after about 5 min of being seated. Drinks arrived with no straws 10 min later to which she said she would be right back with them. Another 10 min went by, no server, no straws. TERRIBLE SERVICE!! I ordered lunch online today, and the website told me it would be 25 minutes before my order was ready (for one bowl of chili!). I got there after 25 minutes and then sat in my car at curbside pickup for another 10 minutes. Nobody came out, and it's not like they couldn't see my car in broad daylight! I went inside and told the bartender that I had been sitting there for 10 minutes. No explanation, no apology. They weren't even busy; there was hardly anyone in the bar area. He went back in the kitchen and got me a bowl of chili. I asked where the fixings were. He said they were on top, but if I wanted cheese (duh!) he could go and get me some. This restaurant could benefit from some decent management, which is obviously absent. read more

Service is horrible. We have been to the Frederick location three times and have always had bad service. The food is okay but when you have the same problem every time you eat there the problem must be with employee training which falls on the management. Refilling your drinks or at least asking about refills seems to be the easiest way to make sure your customers are happy. However, three different visits with three different servers and the same problem once the food arrives the only time the server comes by is to tell you about paying thru the table top computer. We left thirsty and dirty since we couldn't get extra napkins either. We will not be back. Would not recommend this place after three strikes you are out. read more

The worst visit to a Chili's. The manager was put out with us when we requested a booth. The restaurant was disgusting, 10 to 12 dirty tables, piled with dirty dishes and food leftovers. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive. Our food was as dissappointing as the restaurant it self. This was probably the last time we ever go to a Chili's. We were looking forward to visiting the new Chili's for lunch but wow, what a disappointment. The hostess mumbled something we couldn't make out so we asked if it was ok to just grab a seat on the bar side... where it wasn't very busy at all. We sat at a high top and waited for someone--anyone to acknowledge us. Between the two bartenders and 3 servers wandering around, taking a drink order didn't seem too much to ask... but no one even said "hello". We were about to leave when a guy walked over, stared at me blankly & asked if we wanted "any iced tea or anything". I quickly realized how wasted this guy was but couldn't say for sure if he was stoned, drunk or both. We asked for menus, which he brought over & awkwardly put in front of us, rubbing his arm against mine & nearly bumping into our table. He didn't make much sense, was clearly unable to provide decent service and as we were on a fairly tight schedule, hastily but politely made an excuse and left. Who's running this place, we wonder. What a mess. Our local Tex Mex restaurants are wonderful so we won't bother trying again. read more

Arrived to a 10-15 minute wait, while almost half of the restaurant tables were empty and awaiting customers; this was the case throughout our entire meal as the wait line grew at the door. My husband ordered fajitas. The wrong fajitas were delivered, and the rice and beans he ordered never made it to the table. I ordered southwestern eggrolls which obviously had been sitting in the kitchen for quite a while. The bathrooms had not been checked by a staff member for quite some time- trash cans overflowing and paper littered throughout. Quite disappointing and very poorly managed. Will not be back. read more
