Spousal Unit and I decided to grab a quick dinner before her traditional load-up-the-trunk fest at the nursery at Lowe's. We both felt the need for a steak and LongHorn was just around the corner. Quick review: Pros: really good value overall. Bread was tasty, salads were large, fresh, chilled, and nicely dressed. Loaded baked potatoes were a meal in themselves, and wonder of wonder, the skin was every bit as well cooked as the middle. Yay! The not-quite-pros: her NY strip was nicely cooked but a bit underseasoned (normal in today's tendency toward reducing "killer salt".) She liked the taste, and she's looking forward to finishing her steak tomorrow. My ribeye (not the bone-in Outlaw Ribeye) was nicely cooked to my rare/medium rare order, was also underseasoned, but had lots of gristle (silverskin) on the edge that should have been trimmed out before cooking. It also had a lot more internal gristle than I expected. Overall not bad, but not great. Cons: the Texas Margarita tasted like really, really poor well tequila. The taste was not cut by the weak mix. I ended up sending it back which I hate to do because it was an issue with my taste not a technical issue with the way it was prepared. They took it off the bill, which I did not request or expect, so thanks LongHorn. Overall, the service was great and the bill was very reasonable. Longhorn is my 'Go to' restaurant for an affordable, delicious steak. Today was our 53rd Wedding Anniversary, so we headed out to Longhorn for the Flo's Filet. Our waitress was fantastic. We told her that we had never had a bad steak at any Longhorn across the United States. We both ordered our Flo's Filet, 6 oz. for me and 9 oz. for my husband. His was outstanding. Mine, unfortunately was too tough to eat. Our waitress was so understanding and offered several times to have another steak cooked for me. I was getting full on my potato and broccoli and said, "No thank you". I told her this was not going to keep me from returning to Longhorn. These things happen. She brought us a Complimentary Ice Cream Sundae for our Anniversary, and when she brought our bill, we weren't charged for my meal. I thanked our waitress profusely, and she said it was a policy of Longhorn. Of course, my husband included my meal when figuring the tip. That was a mistake--I meant to say we were highly satisfied! Although my wife's steak initially came out overcooked (well done instead of medium rare), our server Amaris acted quickly to fix the issue. The restaurant manager, Chase Turner, also stopped by to personally apologize and explain the plan to make it right. We were even visited by the Managing Partner, Christopher Cutter, who was incredibly apologetic and assured us they were preparing a new steak to the correct doneness. When it was ready, Christopher personally brought it out and waited as my wife cut into it--perfect medium rare, just as ordered. Now that's how you turn a mistake into a win. We were truly impressed by how the entire team handled the situation. We'll absolutely be back, and we'll be sharing this great experience with others. Great tasting food and equally great quality service are my barometer for a 5-star rating and I'm happy to give it to Longhorn Steakhouse in Frederick! It was Valentine's Day, and this carnivore was only going to be satiated by a steak & relaxed if it was NOT cooked at home! Our waitress was wonderfully patient throughout our kids' indecisiveness, and she didn't miss a beat when we devoured our first loaf of fresh warm bread, bringing us another so quickly! The kitchen managed to turn out apps in a timely fashion, despite the packed dining room! But what impressed me most, even before I sunk my teeth into the delicious & delectable Outlaw Ribeye, was just how impeccable the entire staff was! It takes a "team" to execute the kind of service this establishment achieves. As a waiter or waitress answered questions from their table another server would deftly pause to take dirty dishes out of their hands. There was an unspoken rhythm and melody in play here. It was also not lost on me that the age range in the wait staff was easily 50 years proving that teamwork across the age spectrum is more likely embedded in a top-down respect for a positive work environment. Let me get back to the food for a moment... because the warm bread and soft butter was followed by an even more generous salad, next time I'd probably forget ordering an app. (However, the spinach/artichoke dip was as incredible as the fresh pita bread it was served with.) My Ribeye was cooked to perfection! Seared with a hint of gristle on the outside, and equally juicy, tender and tasty on the inside! The massive baked potato must have been cooked slowly in a moist oven to achieve its fluffy consistency. Its skin was lightly basted with oil to crispen it, then rolled in course sea salt. Furthermore, the only part of this potato that was "loaded" came back to the quality of flavors in the butter, sour cream, scallions, shredded cheese and smokey bacon on top, proving that quality ingredients outweigh quantity! Management cares about their staff. The energy each employee exudes is real. They care, and they are cared for. KUDOS LongHorn! You have a model that's worth sharing. I look forward to coming back! Husband likes. I say meh. He had a steak (second time going). I had a burger. Best items - rolls to start with GREAT. Had one the next day and still very good - Caesar Salad very good. Husband loved steak. I really wanted to like the burger but it was tasteless and over salted. Service was very good and the restaurant's ambiance was fine, but the table was less than what would be expected for a formula restaurant. We sat in a booth. My seat was massively uncomfortable, had a ridge down the first third which dug into my backside. Husband will return when on travel; however, I will not. This establishment got me.. I've been to several of the chains through out Maryland. Jack and Coke all day Long!! Great happy hour prices all day long!! Also an amazing lunch menu with affordable items on it! Mind you the regular menu is still decent and has a good selection of food.. I'm in love with the full rack of baby back ribs! We've been customers for roughly 20 years. Usually their food is very good and keeps us coming back but in the last couple of years they've really been messing up their steaks. First it was the over-seasoning - so much so that you couldn't taste the beef. Tonight, I asked for a medium rare rib-eye with light seasoning. What I received was a steak with light seasoning but dripping with grease/oil - it actually puddled on the steak and when I picked it up it pooled on the plate. No mention was made of this on the menu - its some new "lemon oil" that they've added. I don't mind change but I would like to know about it and make my own decision as to whether I want it or not. JT our waiter was great and did everything possible to make our experience enjoyable - friendly, very responsive and available without being intrusive. The manager did offer to replace the steak but at that point I was no longer interested so he comped that and our appetizer. My husband's steak was also very under done but we took that home for breakfast. He'd requested No Seasoning so wasn't subjected to the oily mess that I received. Hmmmm never knew that sauce was the same thing as seasoning. read more

Immediately after my husband paid the nearly $300 bill (for six adults) to celebrate a clean PET Scan, the manager weirdly stood super close to us, right next to our table /chairs to make us feel extremely awkward so he could rush us out. I ordered the ribeye steak (medium rare) w/ a fully loaded baked potato. My sis ordered appetizers (wings and the fried shrimp). Everything was delicious! My steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly! Chicken wings were flavorful and not dry! Shrimp was seasoned well too! I was surprised with the mac and cheese as it was delicious! Mac and cheese was creamy tasty! This was my second time to this location when visiting Maryland and just like the first time, it did not disappoint! Party of three on. Moderate Saturday as far as how busy. Seated right go t away. Ordered 3 different steaks. Strip, ribeye and porterhouse. Ribeye medium well was medium best...but ok. Corn side was not so great with a funky cream on it. Strip was medium well and was overcooked and a bit last well. Very salty. Porterhouse was ordered medium well and came out like shoe leather. Very salty. Asked for gravy on the side and got a bordelaise sauce...ok but different. Sent the steak back. Everyone else was long finished before it came back medium one side and well the other. Are it anyway but took half home. Butter was on the potatoes as they took those back before..had to ask again for the "gravy" and scoop the butter off. Steak was in a puddle of what appeared to be melted butter and fat drippings, unlike the prior one too. Just not all that appealing. For a place that hangs their shingle as a know-it-all about cooking "steaks done right" I would say they don't do steaks right. Only Outback is worse. Waitress was ok...tipped well enough. Nothing much for the hassle from management. Odd habit of handing you things over the tall wall between the table and other section. Won't be back. read more

Went to dinner tonight 8/11 on a date with my husband to enjoy some nice steak dinners after a super long week. Waitress was super pleasant and helpful. We ordered and as soon as our salads came I noticed fruit flies flying around. It went the whole dinner but we couldn't catch them to smash them. My husband smashed one but there were still bugs flying around. One even flew off my husbands drink! The. Entire. Dinner. Almost finished when we looked at the walls to see a LOT of these bugs. No wonder we had bugs on our food and drinks and in our faces the entire dinner. We told the waitress and she was HORRIFIED and went to tell her manager. He came over and asked if we wanted a new table - no thanks we are legit done eating. Then offered us a dessert. A free dessert to have bugs everywhere the entire time we ate?! No. On top of we don't eat dessert so that would have been wasted. He said sorry and walked away. I spent $80 on food plus the tip we left our waitress and you think a free dessert excuses bugs? I get they can't help it but if they know there's bugs all over the two corner walls why seat people there?!? To be honest it was disgusting, absolutely annoying, and definitely not an enjoyable relaxing dinner date with my husband. Super not happy. A friend and I stopped in just before the dinner rush. There were maybe 20 people when we were seated. Our waitress was inattentive, and very not present. At the time she had 2 tables besides my friend and I. We had to get the girl bussing tables to get a refill and two tables were seated after us, but ate before us. Very disappointing. I have been a long time patron, and enjoy the food. I complained to the Manager, she got our check and the rest of the to go order, but did not comp anything or offer a desert out of courtesy. Short story: Bad food & bad service,they promised a free meal and lied, I got a $15 discount on my next meal. Long story: I love a good steakhouse and with the exception of this one Longhorn Steakhouse have never had a bad experience. A year and a half ago, my wife took me and the kids here for my birthday dinner. The place was probably around 1/2 full, which is probably normal for a Wednesday night. After being seated we waited half an hour for some water then ordered drinks and a couple of appetizers. After another 20 minutes or so the apps came and were lukewarm. We didn't complain because we don't usually complain about things and we ate them anyway, after ordering entrees. We waited another 25 or 30 minutes for our food, and when we got it it was no longer hot. It had probably been sitting for 10 or 15 minutes after being cooked. They had forgotten to place my order so went back to do that while everyone else ate their lukewarm meals. My wife asked for extra dressing for her salad and the waitress smirked and litterally rolled her eyes as she went back to get it. She wasn't sure if the salmon in her salad was supposed to be served cold or hot but probably not room temperature. The food was so bad we didn't eat most of it. My steak was well done, not medium rare and I ate one bite. Brussels sprouts were not fully cooked and were actually cold so we had one. We never complained and the waitress obviously didn't give a rat's ass that we didn't eat the food because she didn't ask a single question. In fact, she threw my food in front of me and disappeared until it was obvious we were no longer eating - and brought the check the instant she figured that out. So instead of complaining we went home and my wife wrote them a letter. They called us up and asked us to come in so my wife drove there and talked to the manager. He apologized profusely, gave us a written letter of apology and put our names in "The Book". He said we should come again and tell them about our name being in "The Book" and they would comp us a meal up to $100. Fast forward 1.5 years. We went in last week, just my wife and I. While being seated I explained to the seating-dude about our name being in "The Book" and that our meal was supposed to be comped, so would he please get the manager to our table. He said, "Right away". I asked who the manager was that night, was it Manager1? and he said yes, Manager1 is here. I'll go tell him you're waiting to speak with him." A little while later the same waitress as before come to take our order and she was just as friendly as she was the time before. I'm not saying she was unfriendly but she had a personality best suited for the construction industry or maybe the military. She would have fit right in at the Department of Corrections or the DMV. She was definitely not interested in smiling for a living, acting interested in what people might want, nothing like that. She never cursed at us or anything like that, she just made us feel unwelcome, made us feel like we were wasting her time. That's exactly how we felt both times we came to this restaurant. Oh, and in all that time the manager never came out. When the waitress brought me the bill, I asked if she would get the manager and she did. Manager2 came out so I said, "I thought Manager1 was here tonight" and she said, "Oh, he just left". At first I was surprised and then I thought that was coincidental - why would he be ducking us though? I still haven't figured that out to though. So anyway, we explained everything to Manager2 and she said she didn't have time to go through "The Books" (one book for each month of each year) and instead would give us the employee discount of 20% off our $85.00 bill. I said, "Well you don't have to go through "The Books" because it would be for the month of August 2022. Then she rolled her eyes and sighed - so I said, "Ok, you know what? I don't care. I guess I should be glad you do anything at all considering it was over a year ago anyway." Then I tipped the waitress 20% for the last time in my life. Another satisfied customer. read more

My family and I decided to have dinner here on Super Bowl Sunday, after finding out that Texas Roadhouse was closing at 6:30pm. I've always like LongHorn Steakhouse, but maybe my hopes were too high due to old memories of times long gone. The food wasn't horrible, but it was just ok. I'm not used to eating a lot of salt on my food, and everything tasted salty. I just felt my blood pressure rising while eating. I will say the manager was very nice, and he came over to take our drink and appetizer order because our waitress was tied up with another table. Our waitress was swell too. Great service and very friendly wait staff. The waitress even checked my id, which I specify on my credit card. The food was good as well. Salads tasted fresh and had a good assortment of vegetables! The sides and main dishes were good too. I got a sirloin steak medium and it was juicy. My dad got a well-done and it was much drier, but that's what you expect. The only con to the meal was that the mashed potatoes were way too salty. As long as you steer clear of those, you're in for a great meal! read more

Had a carry out Oder yesterday evening. 2 NY strip cooked medium. One with 7-pepper rub and asparagus. The other without extra rub and onion&mushrooms. Both plates had a baked potato and a side of bread. The steaks were cook to over well done with no moisture my Oder did not have a side of onions and mushroom. The asparagus and potatoes were tempered cool the bread was warm. Very disappointing. read more

Big problem, though... they were actively doing construction, so the restaurant stunk, it was loud because of saws running, and on top of it, the construction workers decided to smoke cigarettes, which led the smell of active cigarette smoke to waft into the dining area.
