3 stars and an extra star for the bartender! We sat at the bar and she was managing the entire area which includes the tables there. She was taking everyone's orders, making drinks and making sure everyone was good, and did it all with a smile. I believe her name was Melanie so shout out to her! As for the food, the food was average. Frozen margarita was too sweet. Prices were great! They had a bunch of TVs with sports on them - that's what we were looking for. Our server was training someone new and one of them smelled like cigarettes. It was horrible trying to eat and Everytime that person came over we had to hold our breath. The food is not bad. I've been here a few times and the only time I go is when my nephew wants to. Service was a bit slow, but some of the staff was friendly. Every time we come here, we order almost the whole menu. It's a relaxing and kid friendly restaurant. Remember if you order a steak, order it a temperature lower so it will come out right. Started off great. We ordered drinks (apparently they never have milk so don't even try) then dinner. Came out quickly but one of my kids orders was wrong. Fixed quickly but when we asked for mushrooms with the quesadilla when originally ordered, they were on the side. Not a big deal but annoying. I added chicken to my other sons quesadilla and that was $7!! The worst part of the meal was when my cousin got a third of the way through his chicken sandwich and it was raw. The manager was very apologetic, comped his meal gave him a different meal (that took forever) and gave him a free dessert. At least they tried to right the wrong. read more

Let me start by saying that Chilis is never the top of my list of choices, but here in Marshall, it's very limited on where you can go have a beer and sit at the bar. I was pleasantly surprised after reading the reviews. First off, there was a host standing at the door when I walked in a little after 1pm on a Wednesday. I told him I was going to the bar and he was very courteous. The bartender, I believe his name was JR, was extremely prompt and very friendly. I had the lunch special of a dinner salad and boneless wings and fries. All of that was only $10! You can't even eat fast food for $10 and the food is always consistent at chilis. This was no exception. The beer is cold, the atmosphere is good. The restaurant is clean contrary to some of these reviews. What more could you want from a chain restaurant! Let me also say that I do DoorDash and whenever I have come here to pick up my order, the staff is always super friendly and helpful and the food is always ready on time. That says a lot right there. I'm only here in Marshall for a couple of months, but I'll be back and I haven't been to a chilis in probably 5 years! read more

We just tried the Ribs with Dr Pepper Sauce and they were okay to good.....nothing special. In the past, they had Shiner Bach Ribs that we liked better. The food here is franchise and not bad just not usually WOW. They did once have a Molten Pumpkin Spice type cake with ice cream that was Wow. The atmosphere is just like all others. Nothing special. Price is usually okay. No Diet Dr Pepper. They do have Diet Coke. Service is just typical. We visit here maybe once a year if that. read more

In all my years...and I'm 72...I've never had poor service at Chili's...until my grandchildren and I ate at this one in Marshall. We were traveling from Austin TX to Jackson, MS. The children are ages 8 and 5. First of all, the maitre d seated us with 3 adult menus and only two sets of silverware. So we had to wait while he got that sorted. After about a 15 minute wait, the waitress appeared to take our order. We put in our drink order and dinner order at the same time. Our drinks appeared fairly soon but I had to request...for a second time...a third set of silverware and a straw. The waitress appeared with them about ten minutes later and literally flung them on the table to the point that we all three jumped. THEN...the food. Waitress brought out one side for the older child. We waited and waited until the little one was tearing up because she was so hungry. Then waitress brought out both kid entrees but gave the little one's side to the older child. I continued to wait for my one bowl of soup. The kids were finished eating when my food finally arrived after the waitress had told me my soup would be right out when she had delivered the kids' entrees. I had just told a passing waiter to cancel my soup order when she arrived with it...with no apologies. No way was I going to wait for a long, drawn out bill paying episode. I left cash with a 20% tip on the table...because you never know what is happening in someone's life to the point that their job performance is sub zero. Lol, the negative comments on here. I've been coming here for years now, the service has always been great. The food has always been good, the drinks have always been superb. A couple of the bartenders are fantastic people of whom I have nothing but kudos to say about them. If you had slower than normal service, try to remember that this entire town is begging for anyone to come fill empty positions at their restaurants. Still, I haven't seen extremely slow service here at all, never got food poisoning here (as one yelper suggested), haven't seen any bugs crawling around and really appreciate the experience. My expectations for a Chili's are already low so I'm not sure how I walked out more disappointed than when we arrived for a quick bite to eat on our road trip. Came in on a Sunday little after noon and we were greeted pleasantly enough by our server, but it took a good amount of time to bring out some waters and a coke. That coke being primarily carbonated with very little syrup, I informed the nearest server, but was ignored until I talked to our server. He remedied it pretty quickly. I expect a sandwich called the "Bacon Avocado Chicken Sandwich" to come with avocado. Not only was there not any on two separate orders of the sandwich--my girlfriend and I--but each of our sandwiches contained a thinly sliced "butt" of a tomato. Even after we straighten it out with the server and received sliced tomatoes and avocado, the sandwiches were oily and not really enjoyable. Not only that, but the friends we were with never received half of their order. These were clearly the kitchen's error as we saw the items on the ticket. Each one of us hard heart-burn or indigestion issues for the remainder of the car ride home (3 hours). So needless to say, we won't be returning and suggest others avoid this as a "quick stop". You may be making several others later if you no what I mean. read more

Well, what to say. On a long road trip and we wanted a break from fast food and burger joints. Chili's is usually a fairly reliable "okay" meal. Walked in to find no host at the stand, and two other groups also waiting to be seated. A server eventually showed up and seated us. Ordered Top Shelf tacos no cheese (dairy allergy), and server (apparently fairly new) forgot to put no cheese on the order, so I had to send them back. Meanwhile, wife ordered 2 tacos and got 3 (a waste since she just needed/ate 2). She got broccoli instead of the rice. Broccoli somehow tasted both over-cooked and undercooked. Perhaps it was frozen and reheated? Another 5 minutes after wife finishes, my new order of tacos comes out. STILL HAS CHEESE. Manager comes over then and tries to pull a Jedi mind trick, saying "that was not cheese" (thinking I'd confused a chimi-churri sauce for the cheese shreds that I'd already pointed out to the server twice). I wasn't going to wait for another retry from the kitchen, so we paid for wife's meal and headed over to Wendy's. 2 stars because at least the server was very apologetic, and wife got to eat something other than a burger. read more

My husband and I have been in Chili's twice since they opened in Marshall. We are so tired of bad food and bad service. We went into Chili's for something different. We waited at the door for 15 minutes and there wasn't anybody else at the door. Finally someone came to seat us at any dirty table we chose. My husband asked her to bring him a wet rag and she did. He cleaned a table and the chairs. We ordered and others came in and had to wait for them to clean their table. The food took a long time. They finally brought it, minus the fries. The burgers were good. We nibbled a few fries and left. Too bad they won't clean up the tables for new customers coming in. read more
