Casual diner, next or in a like convenience store. Nothing fancy, however we did take notice once we stepped on at how fresh & clean, restaurant smelled & looked. We we're greeted & swerved right away. I had the chicken fried steak, eggs, & pancakes. Fried chicken steak was the perfect size, medium, way too big for breakfast. The almost empty dining room, at 1045am, was littered with messy tables. Our chosen table had no place settings. It took 12 minutes for a server to appear. It took 15 more minutes to receive an overpriced, poorly prepared, lunch. Not the way I remembered the Iron Skillet read more

Normally don't write reviews, but this was a horrible experience. As we entered the restaurant the waiter rudely imputed "it's gunna be a minute" suggesting to go find somewhere else to eat. After finally getting our drinks we had sat for 25-30 min with no further service. Walked straight past us and starts helping another table already taking their order. When we got up to leave another lady sese the cooks in the back had been waiting for our order suggesting they weren't busy working on any food. DO NOT GO HERE read more

We stopped by for breakfast on way to the cemetery. My buddy was visiting his daughters grave for the first time in over 20 years ! Across the way is iron skillet restaurant. Why not eat first and slowly adjust to the visit. Patrick the senior head cook has been serving amazing "gravy" since the first brick was laid ... that means so be the restaurant opened ! Second time here- first time waitress was friendly but this time not so much-Sue was our waitress and her attitude was not welcoming- her face was frowned up as soon as she came to our table & she practically mumbled when asking for our order, when paying for the food she tossed card on the table instead of handing it back- come to find out she hit on my husband in the past which must've been the reason for the nasty attitude- not a good look for the restaurant-Food was not as good as the first time either read more

Their portions look reasonably sized, but then you start eating at it becomes really hard to finish your plate. Cordon Bleu or chicken fried steak are both winners. They have a Sierra Mist with lemon on their menu which is surprisingly spot on. read more

I ordered the fish dinner platter by store with corn, side salad and a baked potato. The fish was amazing. I literally had to call for the manager to complement the cook on the food. I've eaten another iron skillet and nobody takes the time to prepare the food in the way they did. The corn was seasoned with garlic and butter it was amazing. The breading on the fish was seasoned unlike any other iron skillet. Great service, great food. read more

Stopped during COVID-19 for lunch. One waitress (with her mask below her chin) was on duty. While cleaning tables so we could sit down, she had no gloves on. She had just cleaned another table, so everything she touched on our table was dirty (salt and pepper shakers) too. About that time, someone from the kitchen came out with gloves on but no mask. We left. Hey manager, you need to read up on this virus and how it spreads if you are going to offer any kind of food service. We normally enjoy eating at Iron Skillet when traveling but at least appear to conform to state guidelines. read more

The food and service were great. The waitress was sweet and split a big breakfast for us so that we each had our skillets. This would be five stars except the coffee is awful. Why can't they figure this out? McDonalds has and benefitted from getting it right. It's not like they don't charge enough to provide good quality coffee; we paid $7 for two cups. C'mon! read more

This review is only for the bathroom on this day that I stopped by on a road trip to Texas. Their bathrooms were clean, well supplied with toilet tissue, has awesome warm air hand dryers, probably about 4 stalls in the ladies room, and it smelled nice. Did not make any purchase at this place. They do have a little grocery store too. And it looks like it's open 24/7! read more

I went around 5 p.m. hoping to get a good hot dinner, and I was truly dissatisfied with the quality of food. The salad bar was decent enough and I have no complaints about that. Although the dinner bar was horrific. It seemed as if the food had just been sitting there for hours. I just can't get past the menu of things that were served, especially having to guess what each dish was because none of them were labeled. I will never eat from the buffet in one of these establishments again!!!! Save yourself the trouble eat off the menu or go next door to Wendy's. read more

This is such a fine establishment. It has salad bars that don't close when you get there at 10 on even if they are a 24 hour establishment. If I was a trucker, I wouldn't discourage the fact that they took 35 minutes to take my order. Next time, I might just choose to eat the rats in the walls. Stopped by at this restaurant for breakfast on an early Saturday morning, while headed to Georgia. We were a large group of 12, greeted and seated immediately. Our waitress CJ was very friendly and accommodating! The breakfast buffet was more than sufficient. CJ informed us of additional options that were not on the buffet menu. The staff was friendly, the food was good, I ordered the chicken fried steak and it really tasty it had a piece of cartilage but it didn't bother me at all.
