I was chewing and chewing. It tasted like card board. It came with fries. It also tasted like card board. My son and daughter had the ancho salmon and shrimp Alfredo respectively. I tasted a bite from both their plates to confirm their complaint of no taste. It was true. The food was bland and had no taste. To summarize, the front of the house staff performed well. We decided to eat here because of my long lasting and deep love of the Chili's chain. I have been eating and loving their chips and salsa for so long! When we walked in I immediately noticed how new and great the interior was of this version. Over the years most of the stores can get a little dated so I really like how this one looked. We got seated quickly and our server came a little slow but nothing that was upsetting. We ordered fajitas and when it came out it was sizzling and hot! The onions seemed not cooked very well like someone had just decided to throw them on at the last minute. So I'm a big fan of Chilis but this one wasn't quite up to par. Went there with my wife and she ordered a salad. First one came out with obviously bad lettuce all over it, sent it back, the manager brought a new one out. This one looked better at first glance upon digging it was riddled with worse lettuce than the first one. I honestly don't know whether they made a new one or fluffed the first one up. I told the waiter I was not paying for it, and he talked to the manager and it was removed from my bill. However the manager at this location made the waiter do his dirty work. There is something really wrong the Chili's in this town. We have two, yet neither of them are ever open for dine-in. I refuse to believe it's because of supposedly being short-staffed. Every other restaurant in town stays open. This is the better Chili's food wise and service wise, but they're not open except randomly when they choose. Either the management team doesn't know or doesn't care enough to have a fully staffed restaurant. This has been going on for months in Murfreesboro. I come here and I have to wait 25-30 minutes and almost all the tables are open. Than we sit down and we get drinks. We than get to order our food we have to wait 1 whole hour to get our food. Normally this wouldn't be a problem, but for that entire 15 minute duration, not a single worker even acknowledged us. I do not leave reviews but we went here and it was so bad our son, his wife, and friends went to the one on broad street and their food and experience was good. Our experience at one on Medical Canter was terrible. Service was so bad from the start to end. Could not tell who was suppose to be doing what. so many employees just standing up front talking etc. we had to wait 20 minutes with tables open every where. We got seated 10 minutes before someone came for drinks. We asked for chips salsa with side of ranch and when it came no ranch so we asked the server again and finally got ranch. We then told the server what we wanted to order. The appetizers came out with the meal. The chicken that I ordered was pouring grease so bad that the bun was soaked. The waiter went back got plate to put it on and left me with fries. We were sitting at a small table for two. We had 4 drink cups, two things that had chips, and now another plate they brought out another with my new piece of chicken which still had Greece running on the plate. He asked if I wanted it cooked again I said no just the bill then he billed for both pieces of chicken so had to take that off . I don't know when they quit taking plates off table I should not have to tell them or ask for them to collect dishes to give us space to each. Our first time ordering from Chili's for delivery... The food was very good, but Chili's left out a side of broccoli on one of our 3 meals. The manager completely passed the buck, saying it was all on the Door Dash employee who signed off on it, not him...like his employees are not at fault at all. He did offer to let me get dressed, drive down to his restaurant, and pickup the side of broccoli they left, so I guess that counts as an effort, right? The manager refused to replace it on my next visit and reiterated his generous offer to let me come down and pick it up. I am a big Chili's fan. I love the southwest eggrolls and the hot chicken and waffles, but it's rare that I get a chance to eat there because my wife and daughter don't like it. I was super stoked the other day when it was just my son and I and we could have chili's. We got out of church early so we beat the lunch crowd. There was only one other family visible when we approached the hostess stand. I smiled and asked for a table for two and she responded that it would be a twenty minute wait. I looked left and then right at the empty restaurant and asked "What?". She said they were short staffed. I understand we're in troubled times and that there are staffing issues everywhere, but I'm not kidding when I say that there was only ONE family at a table. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE! This place was by far the worst experience I've had eating out ever. When my family and I walked in we first noticed the trash and leftover food on the floor, we still proceeded to seat ourselves as we were not greeted after standing at the front for 10 minutes. Decided to try Chilis once again as I haven't been there in quite awhile. I had the tortilla soup, pretty good. The broth had a really good enchilada flavor. I had the crispy chicken strips with fried and Cole slaw. Chicken was horrible. The batter was aliitle crispy on the outside but gummy on the inside. The chicken itself had a weird springy texture to it. Not good. Fries were just and the coleslaw was fresh and tasty. If I go back, I definately won't be trying any of the chicken dishes. I am on the fence about this Chilis. First of all...this was my first time ever eating at a Chilis. I got an appetizer as a meal (to go) - the Triple Dipper, where you pick three appetizers. It's kind of like bar food, and most of it was super delicious. ALSO, the people there are very cheerful and seem to genuinely enjoy what they are doing, so I felt good about getting food from this place. Now, the reason I only gave it three stars...one of the things I selected was fried pickles, which is my FAVORITE appetizer pretty much anywhere. I was pretty excited for these over the other things, because I haven't had fried pickles in awhile. The other two apps I got were great, but the fried pickles were unfortunately WAY underdone, and there was absolutely no saving them (and I'm pretty expert on reheating fried pickles at this point in my eating career, haha). It just wasn't happening. Maybe if they had been cooked properly to begin with, but no. I had to throw them ALL out. It was extremely disappointing. So that has me on the fence about Chilis, but other than that, it was good. read more

Party of 3 adults and a child today for lunch. We were seated right away. Our waitress was quick and very attentive the entire meal. I ordered the grilled chicken salad with ranch dressing. The review below was last year. Today 08/22/18 we went back and the place was good as it was before we had the bad treatment. Amber is always good and sweet, hamburgers were great and beer cold as always. We, 2 couples were going to chili's every Friday night to unwind and relax, always had great service with Amber. She is so nice. We went one night and had a different waitress, very sweet and nice girl, but she ringed our order as an especial order instead of the happy hour wings just plain, they overcharged us on wings that we always paid happy hour price. The manager and most of the bar people have seen us there several times, so they know us. We asked the manager why the price was different from the price we always paid? She wasn't nice, said she couldn't do anything to help because it was all computer created and the wings we ordered wasn't a hh item and she couldn't modify, didn't apologize or offer us a discount or anything. I was in shock. So from now on we will drive a couple of more miles and go to Jefferson's and tonight we are going to try Applebee's. So long Chillis, you just lost your loyal customers. Everyone in our group found something they liked on the menu with many choices. Our waitress was nice and the service was good. I order the Monterey Chicken on many of my visits so I was very excited about their new special dish. It was Bacon Jack Grilled Chicken topped with bacon, mushrooms, and avocado. Overall, the experience is always nice however, I have to be honest and say I think they should stick to the Tex-Mex themed dishes only. I had their ribeye and I have do say, though it was cooked we'll and seasoned well, it was the worst quality of ribeye meat I've ever had. Half of the steak was just fat, like there was literally fat through the entire cut. The other half was just disappointing, I felt like I was eating a T-bone steak at waffle house. Again, the overall experience is always nice. I sat at the bar, and my server was excellent, very attentive, and accommodating, and my food came out quickly, but it was the quality for me. This is our favorite Chili's location, but our visit tonight had some ups and downs. Our server was fantastic. I wish I had caught his name, but I'm pretty sure he was waiting the entire side of the restaurant we sat in on his own. It was incredibly obvious the restaurant was short-staffed, but he remained kind and attentive the entire time. Our food was great. I will say this: this location needs to do some coaching with their staff up front. We completely understood the hour long wait and inability to sit the many tables available due to the clear lack of wait staff, but the girl up front made us wait longer simply based on my husband's name. I won't include party names, but it was rude to say the least. I'm sure she forgot who he was (understandable in a crowded place with complete strangers), but as he sat immediately in the entry way, he overheard her say, "Who should we call next? S or N? N just sounds so 'ugghh.' S sounds better." I feel like this negates the reason for a waitlist and text system, besides being truly unkind. This was not appropriate conversation to have in front of customers. The party for S had left, I suppose, due to the long wait, but my family that waited patiently for an hour with two young children (and one being there to celebrate her birthday) waited additional time simply because she apparently didn't like my spouse's name compared to someone else's. This is absolutely unacceptable, unprofessional, and makes no sense to me. Many thanks to the patient and hardworking folks in the kitchen and those caring for customers, though! We went on a later Saturday and business was way slowed down from the sat nite rush, there was only 6 tables in the bar with a bartender and 2 waitresses. Ours was very nice and had a good friendly manner, but that's where the good ended. It was about 60 degrees outside and the AC was up pretty high making it sort of uncomfortably cool, (fan was blowing RIGHT on the tables) we ordered some boneless chicken wings app, which took about 12-15 minutes to arrive to table after the waitress was telling us 'our app should be right up soon'. Took two bites, not warm. I should point out my 20plus years as a line cook, sous chef and rest mgr exp when I say not hot, I mean stuck my finger into the heart of the piece of food for min 20 seconds and it felt less warm than putting a finger in your mouth for that long- it was cold! Informed our waitress and she said "ohhhh" and took it away because I stated I didn't want another or to pay for that one. Then 25 more min go by and 2 more reassurance stops from the waitress of "your food will be right up soon" then the food hits the table. I had the smoked chicken burrito, my date had the classic bacon burger. My burrito barely passed the 'finger right in the dead center of it to test if it was hot' test. Maybe this was because they had to put the whole plate into the hot broiler to melt the cheese on top of it. It contained chicken, rice, cheese, and was topped with cheese sauce and the sauce that was drizzled on top. Plain. And both of our fries were just NOT fresh and tasted old and like warm. She didn't even return to deliver the check or pickup the payment, she sent another waitress to. So there ya go.
