When traveling I like to avoid national chains but the closest longhorn back home is 45 miles away and my husband and I both wanted to try it. I'm glad we did. The bread they give leaves something to be desired but I love that they gave us 3 servings for a table of 7. I had the sirloin with Parmesan crust added and my dad got the Parmesan chicken. The steak is the way to go. It was sooo good. Maybe it's a sin but I love cheese on steak. I'll get blue cheese topping anywhere I can and this Parmesan topping was amazing. My steak was also cooked perfectly. The chicken, however was way too rich with it. I don't kno if they cook the chicken in butter or it already has a seasoning/crust on it before adding the cheesy part but it was difficult to eat. My dad and husband who also got the cheesy steak couldn't finish their side mac and cheese, I think due to all the cheesy richness but the Mac and cheese was tasty and creamy. From the moment we walked in the vibe was off. No hostess to seat us. She finally sat us at a booth next to a table with extra chairs. You could barely get out of the booth, you felt claustrophobic because the people were so close. The waitress took forever to come and take our drink order. I ordered sirloin because I don't like fat on my meat, guess what there was fat on it and it was tough. My daughter ordered lemon garlic chicken which was rubbery and the broccoli was overpowering with lemon flavor. The waitress was not interested in serving us, because we were only a two person table. It took forever to get our check after we asked for it. We could not leave that place soon enough! This used to be one of our favorite places to eat, not anymore. I applied for a position at this location and when I called to speak with someone about my application the staff member Jamie was excessively rude and condescending. Be littling me by calling me son and telling me that I was in the wrong for calling even though 40 minutes earlier I was told by another staff member to call back in 40 minutes. I wouldn't accept an offer if they made one. I won't work with people that don't have basic human decency to talk to all people with respectful words and tone. Late posting but it's been a couple years since I went to Longhorns. For a minute there the food and service was slipping but the kids wanted to go and so we did. We ordered plenty of food and appetizers to get it all in. The service was awesome she was attentive and on time. She had everything come out in the order that it should. Not my drink after I ate the steak or whatever. The steaks and fish came out hot and as ordered. The appetizers were great and warm as they should be. We were out celebrating our anniversary and the service we had was great however when I got my Parmesan crusted chicken I cut one slice and inside my chicken was a piece of steel wool bristle from there cleaning brush. I reported this to the waitress and they remade it. However my food did not come back out until after my husband was done eating and I had to get my food to go due to just sitting there waiting. The manager came over to apologize and offered to buy dessert which we declined but they did not offer to take my meal off. I ordered the shrimp, my friend ordered the Porterhouse. My shrimp were overcooked and incredibly salty. Our server took it back, the second one that came out was worse than the first plate that was sent back, an absolute rubbery mess. Almost as if someone in the kitchen was offended. Needless to say, I didn't eat other than my sweet potato. Both sweet potatoes were undercooked but out server took care of that, as for the Porterhouse, it was really good. Longhorn Steakhouse has a pretty good ambiance. The Murfreesboro, Tennessee location is a comfortable enough place to enjoy a meal at. The service here was also friendly and professional. On this particular visit, I was here for lunch and opted for the parmesan crusted chicken. I was introduced to this particular hidden gem of the Longhorn menu by a client a few years back and have enjoyed it quite a few times over the years. Who would think that a good recommendation at a steakhouse would be a chicken dish, but it is a solid dish offered by Longhorn Steakhouse. All in all, the Murfreesboro, Tennessee Longhorn Steakhouse location was an overall positive experience. I will give it an overall rating of five stars. read more

So honestly I love Longhorns however today I didn't. I always give tips and very generous tips at that, but today I had a cash tip so I put zero online. The employee coming out didn't know I had cash to tip but SINCE WHEN IS ok to come out with a pen asking for signatures if the customer had already paid. Which I did. Any other time I place a tip electronically I never have to sign. So what makes it different now? I can tell you and what makes it different is there was no tip. I consider this some sort of intimidation tactic. If someone didn't put a tip on there before why would you come out and have the customer sign it again. I'm making this a big deal because when I do put tips online I never have to sign anything. Please make it make sense. For some reason, almost every birthday or Christmas, my husband or I gets one of those restaurant gift cards with about five places to choose from. We always choose LongHorn to go enjoy a good meal at and have yet to be disappointed. I typically get grilled shrimp with rice and asparagus and he gets a steak and baked potato. Their vinaigrette salad dressing is sweet and the lettuce is crisp and fresh. We've always gotten good service and the bread is always warm and fresh-baked. Unless you order a rare steak, you are in for a disappointment. I ordered a med. cooked 6 oz filet. With NO seasoning. Asparagus, no seasoning. Baked potato, butter and sour cream only. I'm allergic to garlic, makes me throw up. The guys ordered sirloins. I'd had the same steak at the Charlotte Ave. Location in Nashville just a month ago. It was perfection. When the runner delivered the food, my "filet" had no sear at all, looked like it had been boiled and it was about 1/2 inch thick, apparently they decided to put a press on it, with some kind of sauce on it, I was told it was lemon butter sauce. WTH? It was a pale grey color, with blood running across the plate mixed with the "sauce". The runner got the manager. I took the potato and the asparagus off the plate and put it on the bread plate, so I could eat with my family. It took 25 minutes to bring me another steak, that was seared but completely bloody, asparagus on the plate, no potato. I asked for a new potato but the waiter said they'd yell at him. I told him to send them out to yell at me instead. That it had taken 25 minutes to get me another bloody steak. Oh by the way the asparagus had some kind of seasoning on the new plate. I ate around the edges of the bloody steak and took the rest of the bloody mess home to my dog. Threw up about 30 minutes after I got home, because I ate some of the asparagus before I realized. Shoddy chefs, managers and honestly even the waiter was laying a guilt trip on me. Not a great experience. If you like raw meat go for it. BTW, no apologies from anyone, that they couldn't cook a decent steak. read more

Me, my wife and 2 year old son came to dinner here tonight and had a fantastic experience. From the greeter at the door to every staff member we interacted with everyone was so incredibly friendly and helpful. Our waiter Chuck was amazing! So nice and attentive. A couple of the staff members gave our son some straws and coasters to keep him entertained through dinner as well as bringing over extra crayons and stopping by to say hi to him. Enjoyed a great dinner here tonight with friends. I've been here a number of times and each visit has been superb. The food is always excellent, the service wonderful, and the overall experience great. Tonight I had the prime rib which was absolutely amazing. I ordered it Medium Rare and it came out perfect a warm reddish pink center. My friends ordered the steakhouse wings, the sirloin, and something else (sorry, I can't remember) but everything was excellent. We also enjoyed a nice bottle of Pinot Noir (La Crema) from Monterey, California which was good, but not as good as normal? Maybe because the wine we had before was much better. My reviews are always lengthy and completely transparent. I called and we were given a 15 minute estimated wait time. We walked in expecting a fairly good experience, unfortunately that wasn't the case. We were told it would be a 25-30 minute wait, it was 5, which was great I guess?... We sat down and ordered our meals and were splitting our meals with our kids. Let's say after that, I didn't get a good "vibe" from Tyler M. He acted super patient when he was at our table taking our order, but came back to our table twice and never delivered our bread. Meanwhile I see Everyone else getting theirs. (2 options, incompetent or intentional), my thoughts were intentional as he acted professional otherwise. Our food came without the bread and we asked the food server for some bread. It was immediately served. My sirloin was cooked perfectly, but was overpriced a tiny bit for what it was 7.2/10. My fries were Soaked in steak juice as they thought it was a good idea to rest my steak in my fries, still good flavor and cooked well, 7.1/10 (also incompetent or intentional). The Parmesan chicken was good, 8.2/10. Our bill ended up being $64 for context. There is WAY TOO MUCH COMPETITION in town to come back here for this price and service.
