The waiter we had was amazing. Me, my fiancé and our son went out to eat tonight around 7pm. I don't recall his name though. When you walk in, an if you go left, an then straight, an then left again, we were in that section. He was very attentive and brought us things, we never had to ask once for something. Especially refills. It made our experience very well. He kind of looks like lip from shameless just to kind of get an idea of what he looks like, I wish I would have remembered his name. At the end of the night to he asked us also how he did an if there was anything he could personally do to make the experience better, or to better himself as a waiter and I thought that was awesome. Walk in at 8:00 with my wife... got seated right away, watched 2 different tables get sat and then greeted by servers. Saw 2 different servers walk next to our table, look at our table, and then walk away from our table. We waited 15 minutes before we got up and left without a single person to help us. read more

Manager thought it was to hard to disinfect a second game station for my children when we ate. I understand the covid concern, but it was off an unused station that was labeled cleaning station. Live in the area and have been giving this location chances for years. Keeps disappointing. My boyfriend and I sat at the bar, his license expired over the holiday weekend. Refused to serve him. We understand the corporate standards and technicalities. But, being a holiday weekend you think they would make an exception rather than turning two drinking, paying customers away from the bar 2:30 in the afternoon on a Tuesday after a holiday. Likely one of the slowest times of the year. To top it off the bartender refused to salt the rim of a margarita because that's "not how they do it." We've had it done every time at this location but "Nope, we've never done it that way." Manager even had an attitude and didn't want to take the time to listen to our concerns. It's sad. The last three times I've went to this specific chili's they've forgotten something and its always something I've paid extra for. The first time was a lunch run from work and they forgot the bacon on my burger I paid extra for. The second time was the lettuce and the bacon. So last night I ordered something else besides a burger because I just assumed a burger was too complicated for them to assemble, my order was fine but they forgot my daughters mandarin oranges that was an extra kids side and mind you she wanted this for dinner otherwise I wouldn't have come back and now we wont be back because they literally cant just give me what I paid for. read more

I have been going to Chili's for YEARS. The staff is incredible and the managers are always on the floor making sure you are having an excellent dining experience. It is always clean, fun and AFFORDABLE. I LOVE the 2 for $20 deals! The food is awesome and atmosphere is pleasant. This is the restaurant that will suit ANYONE. It's a great place to take a date, go with your spouse, bring the kids or treat your grandparents! Decided to go to dinner (party of 3) we went in and to find out there was a crowd at the entrance area , proceeded make our way to the host area and asked for the wait time for a table and was told it would be about 15-30min wait , decided to wait . Host took my name and cell phone number and was told that I would get a text once our table was ready , since there was obviously no room for us to wait in the waiting area we decided to wait inside our warm vehicle , waited an hour and never received a text from the new system they are using . I've eaten at Chili's plenty of times in the past and have never run into anything to complain about, but an experience at this particular restaurant will make me never go back. My wife was a few months pregnant when we decided to stop in after a softball game. She ordered the sliders and made sure to ask the server to make sure the meat was cooked well done because of her pregnancy. When the food came out, she cut in to make sure it was in fact cooked properly. The sliders were most definitely not well done. They were actually bleeding. Now I've never seen the woman take anything back at a restaurant, she's just not picky. But she was not taking any chances because of the baby. She politely asked to have it cooked a little longer, which the server was happy to have done. The burgers were returned by the manager and she checked once again, only to find the burgers were still very pink in the middle. The managers response was, "I had them put them back on the grill." He couldn't understand why she was unhappy with the food. Needless to say, she didn't eat the sliders. We didn't have to pay for the food, but the shear lack of understanding of how to prepare a small burger to "well done" makes me want to never go back. read more

Not a pleasant experience. Gave young lady cell number TWICE for text alert when table was ready. She said would be 15-20 minute wait. Since entry was full of waiting guests, waited for text in my car. After 30 minutes, came inside to see why it was taking so long. Said she texted twice but got reply that I had opted out of messaging. Hmm. Also stated she had called my name twice. I WASN'T IN THE RESTAURANT. After checking number, she saw she had entered it incorrectly. So I wasted over half an hour waiting for a text that was never going to come. I reiterated the fact that I had given her the number twice. She just looked at me, not saying anything, as if I had done something wrong. No apology, nothing but a blank look as if that was supposed to suffice. Spoke with Mike the manager. He apologized but at this point an apology for wasting almost 45 minutes of my time was not cutting it. I know mistakes happen, especially with young kids who sometimes don't pay afternoon to what they're doing. But if you are going to work in the service industry, and especially in a restaurant, DON'T TREAT CUSTOMERS LIKE THEY'RE IDIOTS. As a gesture of customer service, the manager could have offered something to offset a monumental waste of time. That didn't happen either. read more

I usually love Chilis but this one was terrible! My soup was watered down, my French fries were dark and greasy and the broccoli that I ordered to replace the fries was bitter and undercooked. I don't recommend this Chilis at all. The server was good but not very attentive. I'll be going to a different Chilis from now on. read more

We always have fantastic service here. Servers are attentive even when they get quite busy. Food is great for a chain restaurant, and even great compared to a lot of non chain restaurants. Great food. Manager seems to be very involved. My family and I came in and the manager asked if we had ever been there. I advised him not to this location but its been about 2 years since I had been to a chilis. That must have raised a red flag as it should have because we almost gave up on chilis but thought we should give the Oswego Location a try. He gave us a free appetizer, checking on us quite a bit, and gave us free dessert. Im sure he did that to keep us coming back and it worked. I appreciate that he paid attention to detail. Went in a little after 8:00 and we were seated right away. No major problems with service, albeit a little slow, but nothing to really gripe about. The one star is for the restaurant itself. One word: dirty. We are frequent patrons of the Plainfield location and have had no concerns with cleanliness there. I have a new appreciation for that location and the management now. However, the Oswego Chili's is nothing like what we would expect. We knew what we wanted and ordered right away before we noticed the extend of the filth. I went to the restroom after ordering and probably should have turned around and left then. It smelled rotten - not like someone had an upset stomach recently, but like the bathrooms have never been cleaned in the restaurant's existence. The soap dispenser was broken, there was toilet paper on the floor in all stalls, and the "best" stall had a dirty toilet and nasty hair on the seat. I came back out and hoped that maybe they just were lax in their bathroom cleaning due to being so busy lately? I doubted it, but frankly, we were too tired and hungry to leave at this point. When we ordered, the food itself left much to be desired. My broccoli looked like they had attempted to resurrect it from the dead and the chicken crispers were the farthest thing from crispy you could get. The corn on the cob looked like it had lost a serious battle with the butter and pepper - it was barely recognizable as a vegetable. At least the fries were good? My son dropped something under the table, and when we went to pick it up, the floor under our table was absolutely disgusting. Sticky filth, pieces of used napkins, crumbs, and used straws lay amongst the abandoned carcass of the floor below. I get that it's busy and we are coming after the mad rush, but I don't see how they couldn't spare one measly minute to sweep up some of the garbage lurking below. To top it off, my 2yr old, tiny, newly potty-trained son who had yet to use a public restroom needed to go immediately during dinner and my husband took him. Usually, my husband is the guy who doesn't complain or worry about anything, so when he came out of the bathroom saying how disgusting and pungent it was and how horrible he felt for our son while trying to hold him on the nauseating toilet, I knew it must be even worse in there. We will avoid this location at all costs. No other restaurant in this area that we've visited has been like this, and definitely no other Chili's I've been to. I will stick to my Plainfield location, which although definitely not perfect, is a palace compared to this one. read more

For $6.99 you get an order of bottomless chips and salsa for the whole table. Plus you get bottomless salad and soup. You can switch your soup flavor if you want on your refills too. This is a great deal considering the chips and salsa regularly costs you $4.99, a bowl of soup without refills costs you 4.49 ($3.49 with a purchase of an entree) and a salad will cost you $4.49. All three will cost you a total of $13.97 separately....a savings of $6.98 or 50% off. So, with the bottomless soup and salad deal, kids eat free Tuesday, and my free appetizer email I was able to feed my family of 4 with non-alcoholic drinks, 2 kids meals, chips and salsa, boneless wings, soup and salad, and a Flatbread pizza plus a 25% tip for $31. Chilis is hands down my favorite date night spot. Which is why it upsets me to have to give this only ONE star. Typically we make reservations at the Naperville, IL. location. However, tonight we chose to attend the closer to home, Oswego restaurant. Our waitress/bartender Veronica was completely illiterate to the fact that we were paying customers. She set the tone for the entire night by waiting to take our drink order for some 15min. Before we could even finish our app order she rushed away from the table. It took 5 more min to catch her to finish telling her the finer details of this plate alone. We have currently been waiting 42 min in between apps and meal (we are a two person table). We've watched multiple tables be seated, fed, and cleared. I HIGHLY recommend driving the extra few miles to the Naperville location as you will not be disappointed. read more

We haven't had the greatest of experiences here. There have been many times we ordered to-go, and got home with only a few of the items that we should have had. My wife and I have eaten at the Oswego Chili's for several years and have always enjoyed the high quality of the food and good service. We consider Chili's the best restaurant in Oswego. One of the best deals is their two meals for $20 offering. It includes an appetizer and two entrees. I enjoy the chicken fingers which come with corn on the cob and mashed potatoes. The quantity of food is generous so I have never been able to finish the entire meal. We always take the leftovers home for later meals. They have given us a complimentary dessert on our birthdays. read more

I usually avoid chain restaurants like Chili's, but I had a gift card. Usual "meh" menu, friendly waitstaff. It was somewhat busy, they seated us in the bar side of the restaurant. It was full of middle aged adolescents and other folks who had been overserved. Screaming, drinking shots, challenging other bar patrons to drinking contests. I couldn't hear the other person sitting at my table. I thought bartenders are trained to know when to quit serving liquor to inebriated idiots. We go to this Chili's very often. We always have had great service and the food is super fast to arrive. The manager always checks on us. Always a great experience! Only downside is long wait times on weekend nights, but that is not Chili's fault, they are just that awesome!! Go to any Chilis but this one. If you do go, don't sit in the bar. Bartenders are stonefaced, never smile and act like they are doing you a favor by waiting on you. Except for the one bartender who talks nonstop about how busy she is with her kids sports, how she doesn't need this job, it's just a hobby job, a way to get out of the house, and turns every piece of conversation back on herself.What a bore! Although she is really annoying, at least she talks. The male bartender I can't believe he survives in the business. No personality, not friendly at all, and is doing you a favor by taking your order. I won't even start on the two blonde bartenders that are as bad or worse as the male bartender. We have eaten and had drinks there for an hour or more a number of times. We pay our bill and walk out right past the bartenders/servers and not once have any of them even looked up to say thank you come again, they ignore you even if you walk right past them! Forget about management, they are as worthless as the servers. Again, not once has one of them ever stopped by our table to see how things are. Never! They stand in the bar and gossip with the employees while they stare dumbfoundedly up at the TV screens for awhile, then they disappear in the back. Worthless! We have stopped going to this Chilis because of the above terrible service. We like the food and go to other Chilis when we are in the area, but we will never go back to this one. Although the bar staff are less than worthless, we have had a great server in the restaurant, I think his name is JIm. Very professional, accomodating, and attentive. He runs circles around the worthless drones in the bar. I think the one bartender subs as a dining room server because we have seen him moping around the dining room. It is comical to see him alongside a true pro like Jim. What a difference! Again, the food is usually decent, and Jim in the dining room should be working at a 4 star restaurant and making 5X what he makes at Chilis, he is that good of a server... but the bar staff is so terrible, that I can't give this place more than one star, and I would have given it zero if I could.
