This restaurant was recommended to try. We went last Sunday afternoon. It wasn't too busy at the time we went. We were seated right away. I saw our waitress was headed towards our table with chips and salsa but got distracted by another customer and sat our food down on the counter and began talking. I watch to see how long it was going to take to stop social talking because I was close enough to hear the conversation. It took her a good 3 minutes to finish talking and proceeded with our food. Tacos and gorditas are good. Chilaquiles are way too salty, ordered a couple times and both times with same outcome. Food is definitely over priced as well, found a new place with same quality food and location at a better price. Another taqueria in Aurora. Finally tired Taqueria Aurora recently and it was okay overall. I had the 3 taco dinner with all al pastor and it was made fast the meat was kinda dry but the rice and beans and salsas made up for it. The place is new, clean, love the natural light with the windows, and service was good. It's nice to have another local restaurant nearby. Getting in and out of the parking lot is so so as it only has one entrance and exit. They as offer combo meals and weekend food items as well. read more

We had a lovely family meal here. This restaurant is SO clean! And the server was excellent. The serving sizes were ample. When you eat in, they give you chips and salsa which are good and they offer to refill throughout the meal. We ordered the nachos supreme. Loved almost all the toppings except the cheese which was the processed cheese sauce but, as my companion stated, that's what comes on nachos so, not their fault. Also, the nachos use a different chip than what you get with the salsa. Our food was good. I ordered a burrito which, although not on the menu, they happily made vegetarian. My companion ordered flautas and enjoyed those as well. None of the food is overly spiced so use the hot sauces they provide to adjust seasoning. Overall, a solid dining choice. I've been here a few times now to give them a fair chance. Every time I'm disappointed with the food, it's either the wrong order or the food tastes bad. Today I got a torta de milanesas and I had a second opinion on it, and the taste was that of old food reheated. Now I know with covid things are harder but this is the same quality even before COVID-19, I hope they do better in the future but I know I won't be back myself or recommending them to anyone. I've gone back quite a few times and lately it's been a hit or miss. There's been some times that their shredded beef is perfect but my most recent visit was very different. Our tacos had a lot of pieces of wiggly fat in them. I called to complain and we had to take the tacos back and show them the fat. As if they didn't take our word for it. Great local restaurant. I've eaten in the restaurant and gotten take out. The tacos and burritos are delicious. My dad is a picky eater and he said their rice is the best he's had. The chips are fantastic. We have ordered takeout during the pandemic. The staff is friendly on the phone, the food is ready so quickly, and the safety measures in place are just right. Aurora has a-lot of Taco Restaurants but this is the newest one in town so I decided to give it a try. Located on the corner of W. Illinois and N. Elmwood in a brand new building. This place looks very professional and clean. Not like most Tacos Restaurants in Aurora that are run down and dirty. This place takes it to another level. Has plenty of seating, good music and very clean. The people there are very nice and they have a fairly big menu. They also ask you if everything is okay kinda like the bigger chain restaurants. You don't normally see this in smaller taco joints. I guess that's a plus. Parking was good but with another business opening soon in the same building kind of concerns me. I think parking will be a problem, but you can always park in the lot next door at the other taco restaurant and walk over. LMAO They serve Free Chips and Salsa but could be alittle spicer. I had 3 tacos; Chorizzo, Chicken and Arracheras. All were pretty good but not the best I have had. The pastor was dry and the chicken soggy. They taste good but not what I excepted. The Arracheras tacos would have been great if the were grilled but there not. Over all it's a nice place to take the family or just have a few tacos on the run. I ordered soft shell chicken tacos and each taco was $2.50 each. The tacos were pretty good, however, the french fries need serious work! First, let me say the fries were hot and fresh. The problem is they serve the crinkle-cut fries that are thick and taste EXACTLY like the fries you purchase at any grocery store! Lacked flavor and tasted bland. I felt like the fries were a complete waste of money. We basically had to try to spruce them up a little bit with ketchup and ranch sauce. It was ridiculous and a waste of money. When I purchase fries I want to taste fries that are different than what I can buy at the grocery store! Get the tacos skip the fries. read more

I feel an update to my previous review is needed and my apologies for the length. The last few times we have been to the restaurant, we've overlooked the subpar service (always new waiters) and cost increases because the food has been pretty good and we try to be pretty easy going. However, I took my family from out of state there recently and was really disappointed that our service was poor and the waiter has been there for awhile now. The restaurant was not busy, it was middle of the week and we had to ask for refills on chips and salsa, drinks, correct our order a couple of times and yet, it still came out incorrect with a whole extra meal being prepared. You want beans and rice, be prepared to pay to make it a dinner to the already pricey food items. Portions are also small so for the prices they are now charging, you can go elsewhere where they give you bigger portions, better food (rice was over cooked/scraped from the bottom of pan not the first time for this but again, we don't make big fuss' and part of my family had to wait for their rice to be cooked after their main dish had already been served)and much better service. I really hope the service and pricing is reviewed as I really liked the food and the environment. We've def seen a drop in customers o er the last year. I really would like to see this restaurant succeed long term so hopefully some changes are made. I will note we mostly frequent the restaurant in the evening/night hours. read more

Apparently, I ordered an "arrachera" salad instead of an "arrachera" burrito because it was 90% lettuce, cheese, and tomatoes. I was very disappointed. I can't believe they'd let this leave the grill & onto a new customers plate, talk about being cheap and no quality control!!! Aurora is doomed again to suffer another mediocre taco shack no matter how pretty the exterior or interior looks. It's still obviously run by another cheap owner thinking they can fool their customers and call this quality. The "arrachera" meat was no different than any carne asada meat in all of aurora, some actually better. My friend clearly ordered a $10 combo then was told he got a regular taco combo without the fries and got charged for 2 cokes. Seriously?!? The tacos- pastor tiny portions, the beef tongue was like grizzle and old, arrachera taco was skimpy in the meat portions again and poor quality meat, ugh!!! The only bright spot was the desebrada tacos, until the oil bath that came with the taco meat gushed out. I was also confused with the tiny 46 inch TV's mounted 20 feet in the air, talk about the tell take signs of a cheap owner. If you all needed my Costco membership to get some 65 or 75 inchers, I'd help out. Also, being a former server in college I can't believe they had about all the chairs up 45 min before close with 3-4 tables full of customers. How rude!!! Insanely expensive for a burrito, 1 drink, what should have been a 10 dollar taco combo plus two extra desebrada tacos and a coke that came with it. Poor quality meats, tiny meat portions, zero quality control all for $40 plus tip. Aurora has no idea what an upper end Mexican food experience is or ever will be. If you want mediocre, continue on with the your regular disappointing spot, no need to spend more to be thrilled less. I literally went to the place next door by accident a month before for 1/2 the price and was 200% happier with gray made local tortillas. This place is a pass for food quality, food portions, food price point and mediocre food service. The sever obviously knew she had assumed and cause some of the price point issues and confusion about the combo orders and drinks but chose to be passive, not good or acceptable service. If I could, I'd give this place 1.5 stars. It's nice looking, but you can put lipstick on a hooker, but it's still a prostitute. read more

Didn't get my money back. They wanted me to pay again, and then wait a week to get it back. So instead of paying again, which i was not about to do, they gave me a credit.
