I arrived around 8:35pm. I order the filet medallions meal and my friend ordered prime rib It took a long time to get the meals and once I got mine the medallions were blue! I ordered them well done!! My friend prime rib was over cooked and dry. I complained to manager they took back my medallions. My family and I have been long-time patrons of Texas Roadhouse, and we typically visit the Joliet location. On February 27, 2026, we decided to dine at the Naperville restaurant instead. Unfortunately, this visit was very disappointing. I ordered my usual porterhouse cooked medium and smothered with "the works." I was already fairly full after the appetizers and salad, so I only had a few bites of my entrée at the restaurant. The bites I did have were noticeably tough and gristly, but I didn't think too much of it at the time and decided to take the rest home. The next morning, when I tried to have some for breakfast, I found the steak to be extremely tough--so much so that I could barely cut into it. The pieces I attempted to eat contained a significant amount of gristle and were too tough to chew. It was very disappointing, especially since I have been coming to Texas Roadhouse for many years and have never had an experience like this before. As loyal customers, we've always enjoyed the quality and consistency of our meals, which is why this visit stood out so negatively. I wanted to share this feedback in hopes that it can be addressed. I'd been to one other location of this chain, but this was my first visit to this outlet. We arrived, a party of four, at 3PM on a Sunday and were seated right away. I would estimate the restaurant was half full, but it took some time before a server got to our table. Our server's name was Fay, and throughout our stay, her service and follow up was excellent. We had the fried onion appetizer and it was on point, cooked to perfection and served with a dipping sauce. I wish there was a choice of sauces. Three of our party ordered steaks, with a variety of doneness requested, and all were satisfied with the outcomes. Side dishes included baked potatoes and green beans, also prepared correctly. Midway through our meal the manager passed by and asked if were were doing OK. We were. I ordered the four piece catfish (filets), with fries and a side salad as my side choices. Salad dressing comes in a small plastic ramakin, and is made of leaf lettuce, tomato, and croutons. Satisfactory. The fish coating was seasoned cornmeal, and it was also done perfectly. I have a big appetite, but I took half of it home. They do offer a smaller portion that the one I ordered. The accompanying sauce was not a traditional tartar, but rather a horseradish ranch. Not unappealing but not my thing. The restaurant had a lot of people working. I inquired of three employees how many people were there at the time, and received "I don't know," "no idea," and "an awful lot" for answers. The big negative. The restaurant is messy. Paper, napkins, and other customer and server debris in the aisles. With so many people working, I would think would could be in charge of sweeping. Sadly, bathrooms were in similar condition, toilet paper and towels scattered, both in the men's and women's facilities. Would I return? Probably. The food is good and fairly good value in today's challenging economy. And I'd certainly hope I could corral Fay as a server. I suggest you try too. read more

Super busy on a Sunday, 4/19/26 at 4pm. Seating took 4 minutes which was great. We sat in the farthest corner at a booth for 6 people-two elderly who cannot scootch too good down the seats. We never got our rolls until I had to hold up my hand after 20 minutes and ask our waitress who we never saw after the drinks came. I asked about the rolls and our waitress , she acted as though we were bothering her. 2 of us had the appetizer of killer ribs(4 ribs) they were not fresh and over cooked. We did not feel like keeping our watch for our waitress to have this fixed. We only saw her 3 times during the whole process and the 4th was to bring our check which she did not separate like we asked her in the beginning. Oh well we figured it out. Very loud in the restaurant and hard to have a family meal especially for a birthday which we had. Some of our party couldn't wait to leave. I apologized to my brother whose birthday it was that our experience was not the best. Grisel M. was our waitress and if she didn't want to be a waitress she should not have come in that day or find some other work to do. She was not attentive or helpful. When we arrived on a Wednesday evening the restaurant was really busy which we took to mean that it was going to be good. We had to wait a few minutes to be seated but our server put warm bread and maple butter on the table immediately. We ordered salad both the Cesear and house salads and I especially appreciated the chopped egg on my house salad. I ordered the 6 oz filet and my husband ordered the 12 oz prime rib, both rare. My steak was perfect, tender and not over seasoned. My husband's prime rib was not great however. It looked nice and rare but it was tough and dried out. Honestly, I'm extremely disappointed. Our server was rude and disrespectful from the start. I ordered a salad, but the chicken was completely burnt--so much so that I didn't even get to eat dinner. I mentioned that I was there celebrating my birthday, yet the server showed zero care or concern. What makes this worse is that this is the third time I've had issues here. I tried giving the benefit of the doubt after the first two visits, hoping the third time would be better, but unfortunately it wasn't. Thursday night @ 6:15. Place is packed. 15 minute wait. Ordered the smothered chicken (chicken breast served with sautéed mushrooms and onions, and gravy or jack cheese), and a Dallas filet. Each came with two sides. We got a house salad and a Caesar salad, and a baked potato and a cup of chili. Served warm rolls and cinnamon butter to start. Texas Roadhouse is known for their bread, and it lived up to its reputation. Yummmmm. Salads were great. Nice sized portions, and crisp fresh veggies. When the food was served, the steak did not come with the requested side of BBQ sauce, so hubby asked for it. While food runner went for sauce, I noticed my chili was served without a spoon to eat it. When the runner brought the BBQ sauce, I asked for a spoon. It never came. I flagged down someone else and asked again for a spoon. It never came. Our server finally came to check on us, and I asked for a spoon, and let her know she was the third person I asked. No apology. I asked for a new cup of chili since it was now cold. She looked at me as if I was being unreasonable, but she did take the chili away, and brought a fresh cup with a spoon. Steak was great. Baked potato was hot, and a nice size. Chicken was room temperature and very dry. Mushrooms and onions were cold. Restaurant is very noisy. Very loud music. Lots of birthdays, which involve a loud waiter shouting at the top of his lungs to get everyone's attention. Great for those celebrating...not so great for a date night for this couple. Went on a Wednesday night which normally isn't crowded but there was a fundraiser and it took 25 mins to get a table vs the 5-15 they estimated. Service was good, bread was very good. Non steak and non cheeseburger meals are a little overpriced ($16 chicken tender with 2 sides). Food we got was good but main issue I have is the loud country music, which on a side note Menards also does, and is not enjoyable. Also, the table layouts are good for like 5 people max but not good for large parties. Also their version of the bloomin onion is smaller, slightly cheaper, but their sauce is less yummy than Outback's. read more

Ok so we use to be a regular at Texas Roadhouse, then due to pricing, we just grabbed the to go deals, now they're no longer value deals, so we're down to maybe 1 time every 3-6 months. This location is absolutely the worst, and our experiences are not limited to 1 location. First off I get it, Texas Roadhouse isn't somewhere you go for the best of the best, it's a value location, and the value is gone. At our last trip there, we were told 90 minutes for a table, at 90 minutes we were told another 45-60 minutes. We spent most of the time at the bar, those who were able to sit at the bar. We ordered appetizers immediately that came out 45 minutes later, and some drinks. The drinks took 30 minutes to get out, and when I asked for some peanuts, it took 3 attempts to get them. I had a Sam Adam's that honestly tasted like metal, when I made that comment to the bartender and manager, they basically excused it an implied that sucks. We finally just left and went somewhere else, 3 hours after we walked in, they finally said our table was ready 20 minutes to closing time. I wish I could say this was an isolated incident, but this is typical after 4:30-5 at this location. During the previous visits before that, we waited at least 45 minutes to an hour even with call ahead, items were forgotten. We once came in, ordered everything immediately, got our drinks, had one pass for refills, and then the server never returned 45 minutes later, 60-90 minutes after we sat down, we got our salad and 2 minutes later the food came out. If this was a 1 off I could understand, or every now and again, but this is the way service is here. When we ordered to go, they would always put the cold items in the bad with everything that's hot. When we realized that it wouldn't make it a few minutes in the car before cold food would become hot. So we would pull everything out of the bag and leave the cold items on the seat of our car for the ride home. Point of all this is, Texas Roadhouse is just not worth it anymore. read more

Texas Roadhouse is one of my favorite places to eat. Food is always plentiful, prices are reasonable and drinks are delicious. I just wish they were more consistent with their food. I arrived here almost right before they opened. As we always do, I had to order the cactus blossom. This last visit, the cactus blossom was the best I've ever had it. Perfectly cooked and crispy. However, this is not always consistent. Normally, I ordered the Country Fried Sirloin. Normally, it is as big as my place and cooked decently. However, this time, it was overcooked and tough as leather. Loaded baked potato and corn are always as good as I can remember. The service here is always great. They treat us well each and every visit. The drinks are always delicious. Parking is plentiful and I can see a wait if you arrive during dinner time. Overall, despite this bad experience, I am sure we will be back shortly. read more

Our server Erik was THE most amazing server we've ever had, anywhere! I NEED his manager to know. He was incredibly attentive, courteous, and sensitive. He knew of some of our cultural differences and knew what items to point out on the menu offerings (ex. Recommending -bacon on items due to not eating pork without us asking!) He was so kind and well spoken, he took our orders efficiently and read them back, not missing a single detail. I'm giving 2 stars because the food and our steak was decent -- once it came out right. The "medium" we asked for finally was right after the 3rd try. Other than that, after 2.5 hours here for a family dinner with kids-- I couldn't run out of this joint fast enough, literally. Like I paid the bill and sped walk out. To start off, there was hair on our plate, to which the staff seems very nonchalant about it. Then, the steak we asked for as a "medium" came out so rare it could have "moo'ed". They took it back, nuked it, and served the same piece that we had cut into 3 pieces when we tried to show them it was rare. Then the SAME 3 pieces came back out as all different temperatures: one was well done, one was medium, and one was still raw. OMG. Needless to say, it didn't look right, and we sent back, AGAIN. We actually got asked if we wanted a new 12 Oz piece of steak, um... YES?? By this time, everyone had finished eating except for my husband. Poor guy Finally, When he got his meat, the fries were missing and they had to get it again. We were so over it by 10 PM trying to get our entrees finished. Then the walk past whatever room it was by the kitchen has this horrible sewerage stench. It made me feel dirty just walking by it. Everywhere, the bathrooms, the floor on dining areas were filthy with trash and debris. The air quality was so bad my oldest child kept coughing due to allergies. It's just not a a good place for any kids with a sensitive respiratory system. We walked in on a Saturday night at 8PM and the wait was 30 minutes. It took another hour before the food came out and by then it was 9:30 PM. We didn't order appetizers so they didn't have to make that first and it still took forever. Interestingly, they have the option to pay your check on your phone but apparently our sever didn't know anything about it. I just wonder how does the people who work there didn't know about the option for mobile pay when it was on the receipt. Anyways, it didn't work when we tried to pay on our phones and had to redo the payment on POS. So end of story is that once is enough. We will not be back to this location. The. Bloomingdale location is better from what I remember and I pray it will not be be this terrible of an experience if we ever go back. read more

I guess it's been a while, because the location moved from North Aurora Road to Route 59. It's still a good meal every time, and makes the whole family happy. The server was very patient with our large group, despite the fact that we didn't turn over the table as quick as we should have. The place is always busy, loud, and full of good country music. Because we were headed home for birthday cake afterward, I ordered one of the smaller steaks this time (8oz NY strip). And I was surprised how small that is. I would not have thought that steak was 8oz, and it was not medium rare. My baked sweet potato was good, but my buttered corn was not really. The corn was salty and not sweet. We visited Texas Roadhouse for a family lunch on a recent Sunday. I did not choose the place, and I was prepared to be disappointed. Much to my surprise, the food was decent and the service was very good. VIBE: It's a large, boothy place with unobtrusive background music. Very suburban. It was midday, so the light was good. It was a little noisy. SERVICE: Our server (Lexi) was cordial, well-trained, and attentive -- could not have been better. She stopped by often to see how we were doing and to see if we wanted more food or drinks. Food came out at a leisurely pace, which was fine with us; we did not feel rushed FOOD: The menu has a variety of approachable items; everybody is likely to find something appealing. Everyone in my party liked their food. I enjoyed the cactus blossom app (a clever takeoff on onion rings), and a surprisingly good salmon Caesar salad. There was a decent selection of cocktails, a few beers, and a small selection of serviceable wines. This isn't the kind of place I frequent, but for a family gathering it was perfect. It was a Saturday nite and we have been to a couple of these locations so we used the waitlist option which I always recommend. The location outside Louis Joliet Mall is my fave but this one isn't usually bad. This one was not great. Understanding they were packed the waitress took our drink order which was 2 drinks and 2 waters. The drinks came immediately the waters when the food came. We ordered at the same time the food came I had a burger no onion add mushroom and fries. My boyfriend chicken and steak and fries. We had the a small two seater table and she offered to remove nothing we were done with so there was zero room on the table even though I kept stacking on the edge. My boyfriend asked for silver ware and we waited. When she came through approx 45 mins later and not to ask if we wanted refills or more bread but to bring water he asked for silver ware and we asked for bread and napkins. 10 mins later someone else brought the food. He asked for silver ware and was told with an inhale they were running low and he would check. He did end of getting one about 10 Mins later. The waitress came back as I was scrapping my grilled onions off and I said they didn't put my mushrooms on. She said oh and they added onions.. she said I'll be right back and instead of taking the burger and fixing it she brought me A bowl of mushrooms. My boyfriend's chicken made him nauseous so at that point I picked at the burger and overly salted fries, paid and we left..
