Even when we accidentally stayed past closing time, she politely informed us without making us feel rushed. The food itself was decent--not exceptional, but very reasonable for the price. The second day, I opted for takeout and had a completely different experience. I walked in and sat at the same table, but no one acknowledged me for about 15-20 minutes, despite there being only one other occupied table in the restaurant. Just as I was about to leave and find another place to eat, a server rushed over to apologize for the delay. When my order was ready, a different employee was about to mistakenly give it to another table. When he offered it to me and I inquired about the order to make sure it was mine, he admitted he wasn't sure and had to check. A few minutes later, yet another person simply asked if I had ordered takeout and handed me the bag. At this point, I waited another 5-10 minutes just to pay. When the original server finally returned, he asked if I had checked the contents of the bag--a strange question, considering it should be their responsibility to ensure accuracy. I took the server's question at face value, but it's very possible that they were being sarcastic. At that point, it didn't matter what was in the bag. I had to leave to go work. Again, the food was acceptable. However, it was not worth the wait and hassle. Though the first visit was fine, the poor service the very next day was remarkable. To make things worse, the restaurant didn't even include utensils in the bag. It's well apparent that some of the staff could benefit from training. When reviewing restaurants on Yelp, I think it's important to set fair expectations based on the type of establishment. This place seems geared towards a lively atmosphere, so I adjusted my expectations accordingly. However, even considering the dining category, certain standards should still be met Lastly, a restaurant that is capable of providing such subpar service probably shouldn't prompt for a minimum 25% tip on takeout orders at their credit card terminal. While we were eating, my wife and I were comparing Moe's to Chipotle. The food was very similar, but both my wife and I agreed that we liked Moe's BETTER. Sorry I did not take a picture of the food, but to be honest, one burrito bowl looks the same as the next. What I liked about Moe's is that you can get extra salsa (4 different types) and hot sauce at a bar set up in the eating area. That was VERY handy as I did not order any sauce with my meal. This made up for that and then some. The parking lot where Moe's is located is right next to Jersey Mike's so there is quite a bit of traffic, but going early in the day would be a way around that issue. We will certainly be back. We're now at the point where we're questioning whether we will return. Since the head chef is no longer there, it's very noticeable that the kitchen has been impacted. The General Manager needs to take stronger control--not just of the kitchen, but also of the service team's attitude and overall execution. There are a couple of servers who consistently do an excellent job--Franklin being one of them. He gets it right every single time, even with special requests, and truly stands out. Unfortunately, that was not our experience today. Our server, Sheyly, took our order and we made a simple request to have our French toast held until after our main dishes. Her response of "I'll try" was not reassuring, and she walked away without confirming anything. We then waited over 30 minutes for our food, only to hear our server yell to the kitchen to "hold the French toast"--which clearly came too late. The French toast was brought out before our main dishes, with no acknowledgment or concern for the mistake. When our main dishes finally arrived, the presentation was poor and the portions were noticeably smaller than what we've experienced before. While there may have been issues with the previous head chef, one thing that was always consistent was the quality and execution coming out of the kitchen--and that consistency is now gone. That means said I have been a loyal patron of this particular location for many years This time of year I work two jobs. Monday was my only day off scheduled. I very much wanted to see the Baltimore ravens and the Detroit Lions Monday night football game. I was welcomed by the bartender Dani even though she was engaged with conversation with a regular. I was then promptly saw Destinee who's waited on my in the past. I knew I was in good hands. I was surprised even though the economy isn't doing the best the restaurant was relatively slow. I figured given the fact it was a premiere NFL matchup the place would be packed. I like most people now a days am being very particular about how I spend my money. I wanna be very much taken care of at sit down restaurants. Destinee is everything the Hooters brand wants from their floor servers. Shes full of positivity and charm. I was joined a few times by Dani at my table. I've known her for a while as well. They were introduced me to the future Hooters star Jaylynn. She was awesome as well. All three of these ladies insured my time and experience was memorable. The food was hot and fresh too!
