This is our third time here. We remembered they had "all you could eat fish and chips on Wednesday" so here we are. Absolutely delicious, hot and fresh. And their baklava is out of this world! Service is great, friendly atmosphere and reasonable prices. I hesitated to post this because I really don't want it to get too popular. Lol.

My wife and I decided to try the newly opened Olympia Restaurant located at 3245 Tamiami Trl, Port Charlotte. Right after Olean Blvd heading South and Tamiami. We had gone to the restaurant before Ian and were anxiously waiting for the reopening to happen. The first thing you will notice right away is that everything is bright and new. It is updated in a good way and you will feel right at home when you get seated. Our server was Leslie and it was her first night there. She had a ton of experience and you could tell she was a professional at what she did. She was a bit unfamiliar with the menu, which was OK, because so were we. I ordered the Greek Combo Platter and my wife ordered Spaghetti and meatballs. The food came out hot and tasty. We enjoyed our meal and we realize this is not the same Olympia that was there before. It certainly has a different ambiance and the menu is different. However, I feel that it has great potential. When we went, they just opened a couple of days before and they are working out the kinks and finding their balance. we will be back. The food is good and it will only get better and once people realize that it is open and actually better than before, they will be back. We will wait a month or so and try it again. I can't wait to see how they improve. You should give them a try! They could use the encouragement and we could use another great restaurant in Port Charlotte!

Overcooked and underspent on meat quality here to say the least. I ordered rare state medallions and it was worse than a steak and egg from a Denny's let me just tell you I've been not happy with them but at least I can eat half the meat. Of course sure these pot if he's were fine and the grapeview was okay I didn't eat the broccoli or the fresh fruit and the milk I ordered served warm and I asked for cold and the carrot cake is in the fridge cause it was melted to shit. I only Frank, I don't write reviews frequently, but I've written them for a long time. If I write want to see because I am extremely impressed or or really be on the destitute of dissatisfied. I called Yelp customer service and they refunded me for the whole meal. I've only done that three times in my seven or eight years is yelping thank you so much please don't come here patrons

We've ordered from Olympia for years. It is always great, except for potatoes. We use to order baked potatoes, but they were over cooked. You know the taste when they have sat trying to keep them hot. We started getting mashed potatoes, they were great, until the last few months, we started getting what tasted like an old baked potato mashed with gravy, that are lumpy. Let's try fries. The fries were wrapped in tinfoil, so you know they were soggy. We tried the mashed potatoes again today, and we didn't eat them. We have told them this. They say sorry. In the future we'll see if we can order a veggie instead of a potato, unless they go back to their previous mashed potato recipe. Obviously we love this place. We order out about once a week. Everything else here is great.

Here's the menu. I didn't take a picture of the other side. However, it would read like a bad resume with too many useless details.

Upon arriving, we noticed how dated the interior was. This place definitely needs a makeover for both menu and decor. Service however was good. I wouldn't say fantastic but it definitely did the trick. They have a very loyal following and many customers were called by their first names. I ordered the Greek Plate as it came with two items I could not pronounce. However, upon tasting them, I probably should've just ordered the Gyro lunch instead. It was bland with no flavor. Even the lamb meat was a bit dry but with a little Tzatziki sauce, we were good to go. You could tell the meat had been on the spindle for quite some time. Instead of tossing a ton of items on the menu, I would recommend zeroing in on the namesake of the restaurant and go from there. They offer breakfast, lunch and dinner so I understand the variety. However, if I told you Olympia restaurant, you would think Greek food and not Creole, lemon chicken or anything like that. There are so many restaurants up and down Tamiami that I don't think I'll be back. However, like I said the food was ok so I would timidly give it a pass.

We had…read morebreakfast here a few years ago and enjoyed it; wanted to go back but we don't eat breakfast often. Prices were higher this time, understandably. They are still better priced on a basic breakfast than other places nearby. I wanted to try their eggs Benedict even though I've only ever had it maybe 2-3 times in my life! I'm not a good person to judge since I'm not really sure what hollandaise should taste like! It was more tangy tart than I expected. The eggs were cooked the way they should be and the ham was thick. In my memory, it should've had a stronger ham flavor, as I think Canadian bacon is the traditional meat and I was hoping for that. But even eating a piece of the thick ham by itself, I couldn't taste a salty smoked ham flavor. While I found that disappointing, I couldn't take a star away because visually it looked great, and I imagine a lot of people would love to see that thick slice of ham even if it is too mild! Don't judge it by my photo because I broke my yolks and stirred them up before I remembered to take a photo. The grits (my choice of side) were just like I like them. My husband got a 2 eggs breakfast with home fries (?) sausage and toast. It was a full plate of food and he enjoyed it. They have home made strawberry jam (yum!) and I will for sure get breakfast with toast or biscuits next time just so I can have some of that jam. I did put a little bit of jam on a couple bites of my English muffin from under my Benedict. The coffee mug was tall so my husband appreciated that; and the friendly & attentive server, Melissa, filled it before empty, as needed. We will be back "sooner than later" hopefully, because there's more I want to try on their menu. I do recommend going here for breakfast especially if you are an early bird or find yourself out and about very early for some reason like we were, and need a breakfast. I think they might get crowded quickly, so early is better. Note that their hours were not accurate on the iPhone maps app - I submitted correct hours and it's pending approval. However I used the website hours and one of their days I think it was Sunday - was showing closed at 1 but it's actually 1:30.

The restaurant has a bright, welcoming atmosphere that immediately makes you feel comfortable and relaxed. Everything was very clean and well organized, and the environment felt cheerful and inviting, which is perfect for starting the day. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed, and our server made sure we had everything we needed. Even though the restaurant was busy, the service was quick and efficient, and everyone working there seemed happy and helpful. The food was absolutely delicious. You can really tell that everything is made with fresh ingredients and prepared with care. The menu has so many great options, from classic breakfast dishes to healthier choices and creative brunch items. Everything we ordered came out beautifully presented and tasted amazing. The portions were generous without being overwhelming, and everything was cooked perfectly. The coffee and drinks were also great and kept coming, which is always a plus when you're enjoying a relaxing breakfast. It's the kind of place where you can take your time, enjoy good food, and have a great conversation with family or friends. Overall, this location truly stands out as a fantastic breakfast and brunch spot in Port Charlotte. Between the excellent service, fresh and flavorful food, and welcoming atmosphere, it's easy to see why so many people love First Watch. We will definitely be coming back again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to start their morning!

We weren't there for longer than an hour and she was already trying to rush us out of our table at one point, even though there was absolutely no one waiting to be seated and many other tables waiting to be cleaned. Our server was attentive but I think she might have gone home halfway through our meal because she disappeared. We had to flag down Grumperstein to get a to go container for my food, which is really why we were there longer than an hour in the first place. Our server disappeared and no one else bothered to come over once we got our check. The food was decent and average priced. It was fresh when we got it, so good part on the server. Extensive menu with healthy food options, which is good for me. The ambiance probably would have been better if they actually had friendly people that had smiles on their face. Or clean tables. I'm not sure what the deal was, but the only time anybody had to wait for a table was because they had to wait for someone tobclean one of the many dirty ones off that no one had bothered to clean instead of standing around. Up until today, I've only ever had takeout from here and did not feel the food was worth what you pay for. Now I definitely stand behind that statement. I know there aren't many breakfast locations (besides Panera, which is right next door). In all honesty, I'd rather go to Mcdonald's if this is the kind of service you get for the price you pay for the food here. And I don't eat Mcdonald's.

I am updating my previous review, and unfortunately, this visit warrants a 2-star rating…read more This has always been our go-to spot for breakfast, but over the past few months--and especially now--things have clearly changed, and not for the better. We're now at the point where we're questioning whether we will return. Since the head chef is no longer there, it's very noticeable that the kitchen has been impacted. The quality, taste, and speed of the food have all declined. Even more concerning is the lack of professionalism you can now see coming out of the kitchen--it's disappointing. What made this visit even more surprising is that this was during a special holiday, and the restaurant was not busy. Given that, there is no reason service and food should have taken as long as it did, or come out with such poor quality and lack of execution. The General Manager needs to take stronger control--not just of the kitchen, but also of the service team's attitude and overall execution. There are a couple of servers who consistently do an excellent job--Franklin being one of them. He gets it right every single time, even with special requests, and truly stands out. Unfortunately, that was not our experience today. Our server, Sheyly, took our order and we made a simple request to have our French toast held until after our main dishes. Her response of "I'll try" was not reassuring, and she walked away without confirming anything. We then waited over 30 minutes for our food, only to hear our server yell to the kitchen to "hold the French toast"--which clearly came too late. The French toast was brought out before our main dishes, with no acknowledgment or concern for the mistake. When our main dishes finally arrived, the presentation was poor and the portions were noticeably smaller than what we've experienced before. While there may have been issues with the previous head chef, one thing that was always consistent was the quality and execution coming out of the kitchen--and that consistency is now gone. We truly hope that the GM or someone within the organization takes the time to read this and make the necessary changes, because this place used to be something special. Prev Review ; Nice place for breakfast but some of the waitress need some training. The chef and team are always on point.

My husband visited today 4/23/2026 and said the food was good, but his experience with 1 particular staff was uncomfortable and unwelcoming. On her way I'm going inside, a woman approached him rudely in a way that made him feel like he didn't belong there. She didn't greet him or anything. After he had already ordered his food and paid for it, he was sitting outside waiting , she approached him with an attitude and said "Do you need a menu or something, or are you just hanging out?" As if he wasn't supposed to be there. This was completely unnecessary and made him feel disrespected. I later called to speak with a manager about the situation. The woman who answered was unhelpful and unprofessional. She questioned who I was, refused to clearly identify herself at first, and would not let me speak to a manager. She even told me to come so she could meet me and I didn't understand that at all. She then hung up on me. When I called back, she ignored my call, but answered when I used a different phone. At that point, she said she would put me on hold so she could tell her side of the story to the manager first before letting me speak, which is not how customer concerns should be handled. Overall, while the food may be decent, the customer service was extremely poor and needs serious improvement. No customer should be made to feel uncomfortable or dismissed like this.
