I can see why Red Lobster went bankrupt. I took a date to this store, her first Red Lobster dinner. She said the food was not good and would not like to come back. This is Florida and we have been to many good seafood restaurants. If this had been my first experience at Red Lobster, I wouldn't come back. Service was pretty bad. Lazy and apathetic. The store looked like every Red Lobster. And it hasn't been updated since the beginning.. little maintenance items needed done all over the store. It was apparent that Everything in the store was probably 30 years old or more. If you don't want to update the look and modernize, then at least keep everything in tiptop shape and well-maintained. The inside of this red lobster needs to be updated. It does not give a warm and welcome vibe. Our server was nice and our food came out on time. The menu seems like it's focused more on crab boils rather than fish entrées. I ended up with the snapper bowl which was just snapper salad brussels sprouts over rice. The staff is always polite and accommodating. I'm just sick of paying for subpar meals. $35.99 for Lobster pappardelle pasta with asparagus. Sounds good, right? Wrong...I got a few claw pieces with the inedible roots of the asparagus. I had to spit out all the fibrous parts of the asparagus. The pappardelle was drowning in salty, buttery sauce. Someone reached out to me about my review, they asked me to send a Facebook message to a department which I did. The message asked me to wait for a call, which I did. I received no voicemail or callback information from the restaurant. After I communicated this again to Facebook dept the restaurant called me again and same thing no message. We came here for my moms birthday(at her request!) as other reviews mentioned-we had a couple of awkward minutes waiting for the hostess to come to the hostess stand. After that-we got seated, and everything was awesome! Our server was great, our food was great, our drinks were refilled quickly, and my mothers birthday dinner was a success! This business was hit hard by Covid and just hasn't been back to 100% since. The last two times I went I swore I wouldn't be back, but I keep hoping they will pull out of it. I have been craving a lobster roll, so being lobster fest we went. The stuffed mushrooms were a delicious starter. My husband had a 1lb of snow crabs, he was very happy. My partner and I came in at 9 pm on a Tuesday after Memorial Day weekend so our expectations were low. We were pleasantly surprised. Our server Caitlyn (spelling) was GREAT: welcoming, knowledgeable, patient and down to earth. I ordered the $19.99 Shrimp Sensation: soup or salad, appetizer and entree with a wide selection for all 3 courses. The New England clam chowder was very good as was the coconut shrimp and shrimp scampi. I also ordered a side salad for an additional $3. So much food! My partner ordered the boiled lobster from the tank with baked potato, broccoli and a side salad. It was also very good. Since he helped me eat my food, he brought home over half his meal. We went here yesterday at around 1 o'clock in the afternoon my daughter, my mother and three grandchildren, our waiter, and I wish I would remember his name was so fantastic! He was great with the kids. They put us in a little room so the kids had room to be kids and we did not bother any other customers. First, I grew up loving Red Lobster. Nowadays, its more of an ok, like thing. They do shrimp VERY well. The biscuits are sensational. My wife had the shrimp 2 ways and was happy. I had the baked Mahi Mahi and it was not flakey, coolish, baked to a solid lump, had NO flavor, and the meal took nearly 40 minutes to come even though they weren't that busy. He did a good job. started with clam chowder, nice flavor, lacked stock. Food is unsatisfactory unlike almost any other Red Lobster I've ever ate at around the USA. The Tiger Shrimp Cocktail was unthawed and once unthawed tasted old and bland and was tough like rubber. Last Friday we decided to try something we have not tried in a long time.  We went to the Red Lobster in Murdock Circle at 1331 Tamiami Trail, Port Charlotte.  We were pleasantly surprised. The place was clean and we were seated promptly.  Our server, Jailene, brought us our menus and got us our drinks.  She was professional and helpful.  We asked about the Shrimp Your Way and after she explained to us how it worked, we both decided to get that.  My wife ordered Coconut shrimp and Walt's Favorite a and I ordered the Crispy Dragon Shrimp and coconut shrimp as well. They brought us a complimentary basket of biscuits, which were delicious.  When they brought our meal. it was obvious they had my order wrong because instead of coconut shrimp, they brought me Walt's Favorite.  Our server apologized and quickly corrected the error and I got my coconut shrimp.  By the way, the Crispy Dragon Shrimp was fantastic and the pineapple sauce they served with the coconut shrimp was to die for.  We were very happy with our meal and with the professional staff that handled our service.  I feel it is a really good option.  It is not fancy and the prices are reasonable.  Even though they are a chain, they are a solid place to enjoy yourself.  I would recommend them with a 4 out of 5. read more

We stopped here on Wednesday afternoon and were very disappointed. First of all they were out of crab legs. Second you could get the Bairn crab legs, but of course they added an up charge to those. In my opinion if you are going to advertise crab legs then have them if not don't up charge for what you do have. So we found something else on the menu, and then the Pina colada drip they brought to the table for the coconut shrimp was horrible. We told the server something was wrong with it, & she said they were out so they had made their own. Yuck! Must have been the same case for the salad because it tasted like it came from the bottom of a bag, plus there was an up charge for that too. Typically we enjoy Red Lobster, but the management at this one is definitely lacking. Plus all the up charges throughout the menu are ridiculous. I feel like I'm flying on Spirit airline, next they'll be charging extra for booths. Sad, they're just putting themselves out of business. read more

The manager, Damon, then came to the table and also offered us a free dessert to take home. We did not expect that, but we wanted them to know that the salmon was a bit overcooked. Marina was our seafood specialist/waitress and she is why I am giving this review a five-star rating. I haven't been to a Red Lobster in years before this visit. I ordered the Lobster-Crab-Seafood Stuffed Mushrooms for an appetizer and hubby got the mozzarella sticks. The attention/service we received was the best I can remember in months. Marina was on top of drink refills and making sure we had everything we needed. The stuffed mushrooms were amazing and the mozzarella sticks were double the serving you would get anywhere else. Our salads came out shortly after and the cheddar bay biscuits were hot and delish as always. For entrees, hubby ordered the Cajun chicken linguine with extra Cajun seasoning, less sauce. I ordered the Crab and Roasted Garlic Seafood Bake. Momma ordered the Ultimate Feast. The food was perfect, and seasoned so amazingly. I do apologize for the shrapnel I left from cracking my crab legs open ... I tried to clean up after myself as much as possible before I left. Hubby and momma both loved their dishes. The portions were so large we all took home doggie bags. Marina got a well deserving + 20% tip and we paid with cash so right in her hands in went. I watched her with other customers while we were there and it was exceptional service for everyone. I would definitely come back here but not that often, as the prices were a bit high.
