So we popped in to Chili's the other night after going to the movies. We hadn't been there in a few years and it used to be a happening place to grab a quick bite. We walk in and are greeted by the hostess, who points at a booth and says, "is this ok?" One look told me it was not, as both bench seats had the remnant of the previous diner's meal on them. I told her it would be fine if she had the seats shoveled off. She then pointed to another booth. This one had drink rings and water on the table. She said it was still wet from cleaning it, then wiped it with a napkin. God help me! I'm not a fan of chili's but I didn't want to cook. I went there on a Wednesday night. We were seated quickly and the server was good. They have a drink special all day 2 for 1 well drinks and a beer special, I don't drink beer so didn't pay attention but I know it's there. My issue was that I ordered a quesadilla and the server didn't ask me about making it the combination special that they had for the same price. Which included chip and salsa and a drink. I only saw that because I kept the menu. When I ask she made it so without hesitation which made up for it. The service was prompt and the food was good. We order from here all the time. Normally the food is hot and fresh, BUT tonight the food was horrible. It came cold and over cooked. All the meals were ice cold and way over cooked. Today we stopped in for a late lunch. We ordered two full racks of ribs with roasted corn and broccoli, accompanied by a couple watermelon margaritas. After dinner we decided to treat ourselves to a molten chocolates cake. Everything was as good as usual at Chili's, deserving three to four stars but this time Allyson was our server. She made what was otherwise a good meal great! She was attentive and remembered all of our special requests. We will make sure to request her as our server every time we go from now on.
