Strawberry and pecan salad (side salad) mixed with spicy chicken bites (appetizers)
    Louigi T.

For my first time trying LongHorn Steakhouse, this place was a blast of flavor. I was referred to this place by a close friend I am no longer in contact with. Ironically, my cousins enjoy this place, so they decided to treat us (my dad and me). I wish I had taken photos of my cousins' and dad's food, although when it arrived, they started to chow down. Upon arriving, we mentioned we had a reservation, and they were quick to seat us. However, we did not want to be seated where the food was coming out of the kitchen, as we did not want to possibly get burned or have food land on us. The staff was very understanding and nice enough to relocate us to a booth away from the table near the kitchen. The waitress was really kind to give us two loaves of bread with butter. She was quite patient when we were reviewing the menu as well. When we were ready, she appeared out of thin air, ready to serve us with a smile. One of my cousins ordered a burger with fries; my other cousin ordered a chicken meal with a baked potato and house salad that came with it. My dad ordered a burger and fries. My two cousins and Dad asked for "lightly salted fries and baked potato." However, I deducted a star since the fries where the opposite of lightly salted. Instead they where way to salty. This is huge coming from me since I enjoy salt haha. Besides this, my two cousins and dad all enjoyed the meals they ordered. My one cousin even needed a take-home box since the food was filling. Now, I, on the other hand, decided to be creative. I ordered a strawberry and pecan salad (side size) and the spicy chicken bites appetizer so I could combine both. Can we also talk about the huge food portions? I was certainly not expecting this from a side and appetizer. The fruity raspberry balsamic vinegar complemented the fresh fruit and salad. The spicy chicken bites were perfectly crunchy and tender. The spicy chicken bites were neither too spicy nor not spicy at all; they had a sweet, middle-ground, flavorful spice level. However, when you combine both the strawberry and pecan salad with the spicy chicken bites, you get a tasty, flavorful combination of the perfect sweet and spicy with just enough crunch. Talk about such a heavenly food coma delight! All the while, having daily check-ins from our very attentive waitress! Plus, the waitress and staff have some hidden menu items as well that they create or just previous items that were on the menu that the chefs are able to recreate which I thought was pretty cool. All this information came about from a silly sweet and spicy food combo creation, I made, which had people and staff wondering which food item did I order.

Service and food was top notch! Lobster tail a little small but cooked to perfection! Sirloin also cooked perfectly! Server was great, very attentive and food was served in a timely manner. Ambience was perfect. Great music, not to loud, lighting was perfect! Will definitely return! Sorry I forgot to take pictures.

Steakhouse Peter's…read moreis one of those places that has been on my radar for a while now, so we finally had the opportunity to give them a try. There are a lot of reviews out there as this place has been in business a long time. You have to be doing something right in my opinion and well, they are good and they are meh - depends on your expectations I suppose. The story goes that Peter used to work at Peter Lugers in NYC - the holy grail of US Steakhouses. Does working at the best steakhouse in the US qualify you in any way to run a steakhouse? Not sure. But there were definitely things at Peter's that were spot-on as compared to Lugers. The place is set off the beaten path in Jensen Beach. Sort of a tropical vibe looking building and the decor inside is somewhat dated and hard to describe - beachy / Ocktoberfest is maybe the best way to put it. The staff consisted of three ladies the night we were there (a Saturday) and like that Meatloaf song goes, two our of three ain't bad. Two were just super friendly and personable - the third one just looked miserable. They all hit our table at one point or another during the evening and #3 just was not there mentally. she wasn't rude or anything - just blah. We got started with a nice glass of wine - the wine list is decent - not overly pretentious and there is something there for every price point. The menu is steakhouse standard with a few German dishes tossed in there - fine by me. Those are very complimentary cuisines. We started off with the escargot and the "Peter's special salad". Escargot came out swimming in a garlic sauce on top of a flaky pastry - a new spin on an old classic and it had enough garlic to lower you blood pressure like 50 points - outstanding. Salad was large and was enough for the both of us to work with. I went with the Porterhouse for two (med-rare), with sauteed mushrooms and Peter's hash browns. Steak was cooked perfectly and presentation was wonderful. The Hash browns were also a hit but the sauteed mushrooms lacked any flavor- I expected something a lot more sauteed looking - deep, dark in color and these were just meh. The meat is the star here and these steaks definitely hit the mark in terms of flavor and tenderness. All in all a very good night out. Prices were steakhouse specific and they offer valet parking. The crowd is older and the one they they did not have was a free standing bar- that is sort of a missed opportunity in my opinion, and a massive crowd generator in steakhouses in the north. Definitely give it shot if looking or a really good steak - those are exceedingly hard to come by on the Treasure coast. Valet parking in their lot, or park in downtown Jensen and stroll over.

We saw a lot of great reviews for Sauder's Landing…read more First downside is you are required to hand over your driver's license to a security guard to enter the island. He had it for a while, God only knows what data base I'm now part of, but hey, great reviews, let's go. The guard gave my license back as well as a parking permit. Asked about the restaurant, he said drive to the stop sign and turn left. There's a row of shops and a Sauders sign. Did get a tiny bit confusing...none of the storefronts was Sauders. There was a dingy looking alley opening...found them. Walking down this dingy alley (there were three old window a/c units running up high, I mean old, tired, dirty and all three are dripping water into buckets below them on the concrete). We get to a tired residential screen door and that is the entrance. We were greeted right away. Said two for dinner. The hostess asked if we had reservations...we said no. We asked to sit inside. This is not the restaurants fault, but the marina is under construction, there are no docks or boats outside the windows, just rebar and dirt, however the windows and screens were dirty. There are dive bars and old restaurants with charm, Sauders is neither. Inside it just looks very tired and extremely dated You know how Restaurant Impossible or Bar Rescue showes usually start, with John Tapper and Robert Irving having a lot to say. They would have a lot to say at Sauder's. Carolyn, our server, lived up to the reviews that mention her. She was prompt, knew all the specials and did a good job throughout our meal. We ordered some Calemari. The batter was falling off, so if you tried to pick up a piece, you basically had a piece of squid. The marinara sauce was hot and had a good flavor. We had the shrimp linguine Alfredo. There were plenty of shrimp. Tha pasta was spaghetti, not linguine, but cooked properly. Could have had a little more sauce but tasted OK. The meal came with a salad. Everything was fresh, cold and crisp. Carolyn informed us the thousand island was made at the restaurant and it was OK. Summary...the food was ok, the dining room was tired, oh yeah, the rest rooms were behind doors rusting under their paint in that dingy alley and my wife said the one she went into was not nice. I honestly don't know how you could give this a 4 or 5 rating. If I knew what we were going to experience, I'd never give my driver's license to that guard and we would find another of the many seafood places in town. Sorry Sauder's, you need to make an investment in your business.

My husband ordered a Florida Man double IPA and I ordered the House Pinot Noir! I really enjoyed the medium bodied Pinot; for a House wine it was very good! And the price for happy hour I thought were excellent! Beer was five dollars and my Pinot Noir was only seven and a nice pour! My husband ordered the grilled Caesar salad, which was on happy hour so it was 30% off. And I happen to have a 20% off coupon that was handed to me during a jammin in Jensen. They let us use it on anything that wasn't already discounted for happy hour which we were appreciative of. I ordered the beet salad which did not disappoint beautifully, roasted golden beets, paired with Barada and candied pecans and arugula.! it was a good size salad and I ended up bringing some home! It was delicious! We then split the Mattie burger, which is a double Waygu Patty with two kinds of cheese and an onion, jam and homemade pickles, and a beautifully toasted sesame seed bun! It comes normally with duck fat fries, but we were trying to be more health conscience so they substituted roasted carrots with broccolini and garlic, which were absolutely perfect! Because it was a double patty it was more than enough to share! And they took the 20% off of that as well with my coupon! We both had one more drink! And ended up bringing leftovers home even though everything was so good. We were so full. My only recommendations would possibly be to have a single patty burger for a cheaper price point on the menu. Otherwise, we were very pleased. Looking forward to going back again.!

The food was delicious, the drinks were great, and everything came out quickly. I know this place has gotten some mixed reviews, but our experience was fantastic. It is definitely a little pricier than some other spots in the area, but in my opinion, it's worth it. Between the food, drinks, service, live music, and overall atmosphere, it felt like a full night out, not just a quick dinner. There also seems to be some confusion about whether they're still open, but they absolutely are, and based on our visit, they're definitely worth checking out. It's one of the better spots in Jensen Beach. A special shoutout to Nicole, the manager, and Stephanie, the bartender, who were both welcoming and attentive all evening. Our server was wonderful too, and I'm kicking myself for forgetting her name! If you've been on the fence about trying Circa 69, I'd encourage you to give it a shot and decide for yourself. We found this place on Yelp, of course, and saw the ratings. Took a quick look at the menu online and decided that there would be enough good lean protein and vegetables for me as well as other delectable dishes to satisfy G's desire for meat and potatoes. Port Barna has a lovely tapas menu as well as an extensive drinks menu. It's not often that you find a Sidecar and a Toasted Almond on the bar offerings list! I myself opted for a simple gin and tonic and I had about six types to choose from. I chose classic Bombay and was not disappointed. We had Steak Frites, and the Garlic Shrimp. Both came with a house salad. The salad was lovely; fresh and crisp with ripe red tomatoes, croutons, onions and a little bit of buffalo mozzarella topped with a classic oil and vinegar. Very nice. Both entrées were very generous in portion, and very good fare. This isn't a steakhouse but G's steak was quite nice, and my scrimps and veg were fabulous, perfectly seasoned with mild spice and an incredible portion. We were able to bring puppy dog onto the patio and it was surprising that we had the whole thing to ourselves on a Saturday evening. In addition to the great food and the great service it's a lovely place for people watching. We both enjoyed a relaxing evening sipping our cocktails, having great food, listening to good music and watching everybody come and go. Highly recommended, thank you Port Barna!
