This is a great place to eat dinner two nights in a row with a man who is not your father but whom people thinj might be. We also had dinner with a woman who met Jacques Cousteau. She worked at a non-pornographic magazine called 'Skindiver' and was presently in the process of becoming our apprentice. My name is Alex and my friend Alex was dining with us as well. Came here for happy hour - turns out they're running a promotion where you can get $5 presidential margarita, and they come with a shaker that pours out (total) 6??? drinks. SO AWESOME. Got the strawberry mango and it was delicious and lasted my entire meal. 2 for $20 is always awesome. My friend and I shared a margarita flat bread (not on the 2 for $20 menu) & chips and salsa for the apps. I got the guacamole burger with a black pram patty and it was DELICIOUS but an absolute mess to eat. Everything kept falling out of the bun, I must have went through a trees worth of napkins. My husband and I frequent this Chilis with friends often. We are never disappointed when we leave. It is a chain, so you can assume they will do the usual profit push things like offer drinks apps etc., but the servers are always very down to earth and knowledgeable about the different menu options. THey are very accommodating when there is a food ingredient concern, my friend is allergic to wheat and Chilis has several things that she can order off a separate menu. It seems to be the only restaurant in the area that genuinely cares how you enjoy your meal. There were a few times when I ordered something that I had never tried before and wasnt crazy about what i ordered. The manager noticed I didnt really eat much of it and inquired about my liking it, long story short, they took it off the bill and were very adamant about me being satisfied. Chilis in Riverdale is a great place to go on off peak times. This I mean, not at 630 on a Friday or Saturday night. They will be packed and you will have to wait. But if you are looking for a layed back place with a better food quality than Applebees up the road, CHilis is the place to go. And order a presidente rita with strawberry and sugar, they are the best!! read more

Great food, I love dining here, but the curb side pickup is nonexistent. The order came 10 minutes later and I had to go inside to pick it up and pay, even though it said I had to pay online. The server that gave me the food ran outside after me telling me that we had to pay, it made me feel like I was stealing from them. A Typical Chili's clean restaurant and half way decent food. My double cheese burger was burnt all around the egdes and the the cheese was way messy. I have to say I hate the kiosk way to pay. Long gone the interaction of server and guest. It even tells you what to tip. Overall just a chain restaurant with nothing noteworthy. I went to this Chili's this past weekend. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because of the wait time in between our food. I got the 3 courses for $10. We also had to wait a little between being seated and having our waiter and waitress but that wasn't that bad. Between the salad and the entree portions of our meal it took a long time for the next one to come. I feel like a good 15 minutes passed after we finished the salad. The place itself was full but there wasn't that much of a wait to get in. We did call ahead seating which was perfect cause it made us go right in rather then waiting the maybe 10 minutes we would have had. other then that little fluke before it was perfect. The best Chili's by far you will ever go to. Triple dipper appetizer is excellent. Onion rings, mini burgers, and the chicken eggrolls in particular . Everything I had was fresh and very good quality. Top shelf Patron Margaritas are excellent. The servers, Nick and some girl I couldn't remember her name he works with could not be nicer and more attentive. I ordered the crispy chicken tenders and they gave me only 3 bite size portions, which is vastly different from what they used to serve. From the minute my family and i sat down, i knew it was going to be a bad night. As soon as the server JUAN came over, i tried to explain to him that i am a rewards member and was trying to get more info on how the free chips and salsa deal worked. He looked at me like i was an idiot and replied: "so you want chips." As if i were trying to get over on a free order of chips. We asked for side condiments WAY in advance prior to the meal coming out. When the food arrived, the condiments were missing. I then has to flag him down to confirm if the fries portion that was on my plate was common. I think i had less than an ounce of fries on my plate. Food presentation was terrible! Moving forward, we ordered club soda and received water. He NEVER came back to our table to check up on us. We had to flag him down twice for refills and napkins. When my daughters burger came out, it was undercooked. He looked at it and said: "that's the way we cook it." Yet my burger was fine. Here's where it gets interesting, i was done dealing with Juan. I asked to see a manager. When she finally came to our table, she walks up to us and the words out of her mouth were not good evening, hello, how can i help you, my name is so and so, it was "WHAT HAPPENED?" I was blown away and realized that the reason the employees don't care is because management sucks. I explained to the manager what happened and that I wanted the check and didn't want to deal with Juan anymore. She explained to me that there should of been 2 people in this serving area yet I only saw Juan. She sends over another female with the check and knocks off $20 (2 meals). I don't take my family to restaurants for comped meals, we go for the experience. Those $20 meant nothing to me. And a side note, the couple next to us was waiting so long for his server, he had to flag down another server for his check. If you want top notch service from a Chili's, go to the one in Ramsey. We arrived at the Riverdale location and were greeted by the hostess and informed there would be a short 15-20 minute wait for a table. As it was Saturday evening during the prime time for dining we were expecting this. The estimate was right to the minute as we were being seated almost exactly 20 minutes later. Our host gave us a choice of table or booth (which was very accommodating with the kids) and we chose the booth. The children were provided with crayons and a menu to color which was wonderful to keep them occupied as we all decided what we would like to order. Unfortunately this would be where our problems began. We waited at least 10 minutes before our waitress came by to take our drink order. Our waitress introduced herself and informed us that she and a shadow would be waiting on us. At that point we surmised that she was probably new and in training so we were understanding of the wait and expected to be patient with a new employee. She was very pleasant and took our drink order. Upon return we informed her that we knew what we wanted and ordered appetizers and our meals at the same time. She did a good job of refilling our drinks but we were still waiting for our appetizers 20 minutes later. After 25 minutes a runner came to our table and brought our children's dinner. My wife and I both assumed our appetizers were not put in or were delivered to the wrong table. At this point my wife and I still had no appetizers and still did not have our dinner. I flagged her down to inform her of what was happening and she assured us our appetizers had been put in first. She offered to take the food back and correct the order but our children were quite hungry at that point and we thought it best to let them eat. A few minutes later our appetizers were delivered by the manager and we thought our concerns were behind us. The manager asked us if we needed anything else and we asked for a refill of our chips and salsa (best chips we have ever had, by the way); the chip refill never appeared at our table. My wife's southwestern spring rolls were, as usual, cooked well and quite tasty. I ordered the trio with sliders and boneless Buffalo wings. While both were tasty, both were cold, the burgers being undercooked as well. Again we flagged her down to inform her of the problems. She took my order away and said she would have the kitchen remake it. Another 15 minutes or so went by; my wife had finished her appetizer and our children were well on their way to finishing their dinners. We still had not gotten our dinners or my appetizer. At this point our children had already finished their meals, I was waiting on my appetizer and both my wife's dinner and mine were still not at our table. We decided that we would not be willing to wait any longer and we were going to cancel the appetizer and just wait for the rest of our order. We waited an additional 15 minutes for our dinners to come out and, although she came to us at one point during that time to tell us the food would be out shortly, it still never came. Since our children were already done eating, and we were getting frustrated with our wait, we informed her that we wanted to cancel both of our dinners and just get the check. Amazingly, this came of no shock what so ever and her reply was simply "sure" as she walked away. We were somewhat surprised that, even as a new employee, this was not more of an alarm for concern. Coincidentally, the booth directly next to ours and separated by the shared wall observed our problems and informed us that, they too, had problems with raw food. The manager happened to be at their booth and we asked him to come to ours when he finished dealing with the problems at their table. Upon the manager's arrival he apologized and told us he would be covering our dinner order, more than half of which never came out. He did say they were full staffed and could not account for the mistakes throughout the course of our dinner. I mentioned that even the chips we asked him for never arrived and he did say he had asked another person to take care of that for him. While he did offer to have our food made for us to take home we had order seafood (which does not reheat well) and, at this point, lost our appetite anyway. He again apologized and, in an attempt at humor (I can only guess) said to us "I guess you will be hitting the Burger King drive thru on your way home?" That really did not set too well with any of us as our children were already upset we had not eaten with them and were concerned about us not having eaten any dinner at all. As long standing and, until last night, very satisfied customers my family felt there was little done to make sure we returned. Actually there was no mention at all about us returning, their improvement or even retaining us as customers. I was not a fan of this Chili's originally when they opened but in the last year it has really become a great place. Yes, It is a chain but really good at what they do. There is such an improvement in customer service that it must get noted. The staff was very friendly and efficient. Last time we were there we had a waitress Chelsea who was FANTASTIC and such a pleasure! We were a group of 5- all drinks were great, food was really very good and the service was also excellent! I went to a Chili's for my first ever visit. It was Saturday at noon. I was greeted and promptly seated. As it was my first time here, Katie and Lisa gave me time to review the menu. I ordered the Margarita Chicken Bowl with Shrimp and Spiced Panko Onion Rings as well as a Paloma (Tequila, grapefruit juice and Sprite.) I watch various sporting events on the tv while listening to U2 and soft rock. The service and food were great. My husband and I were traveling back home to Oklahoma from Nantucket when we were craving Chili's black bean burger! We walked in and the restaurant was clean, the service was AWESOME and we left on down the road happy with our decision to stop! The next day, 3 hours down the road I realized I left my expensive sunglasses in the booth. I called the manager who found them and sent them to me in the mail!! They will probably beat me home! chili's Riverdale Crossing #1126, last night, I think I was racially profiled, well he attempted too, my children love Chili's so at dinner last night, why did it take my waiter 20 minutes to come take my order after his first visit to the table?, so I said did you forget about me?, he said no I was waiting for you , that was bullshit, I don't remember his name we sat on the side of the bar in a booth, we ordered, got our dinner which as always was good, but I didn't order dessert, which is a joy for my children at chili's, he gave me the check, and we order 3-3 for $10,with guac on the side, my check was $47.00, so I called the other waiter because again mine disappeared, her name was Alyssa, very nice and helpful, she corrected it, $34.00, but my point... why would he add other charges to my bill? I believe he's done this before from her reaction, so I will be reaching out to the manager, regarding his actions, even though I killed him with kindness, and left a $5.00 tip, because I am a tipper, however I really suggest he find other line of work , instead of attempting to be a subliminal racist jerk. read more

Chili's in Riverdale proves to be one of the best Chain restaurants in the area. While the food and service quality tend to be high it is also usually one of the easiest/quickest places to get seated at. They are always looking to please, and the few times there have been issues they have been more than happy to help solve them without complaint and with smiles. Their menu is diverse and has something for everyone, and all the items are always delicious. In particular I enjoy their unsweetened Iced Tea and their Texas Cheese Fries (of which I've not found an equal in the many places I've been to). read more

Soup came out cold, sent back. New bowl was hot. Chicken bacon avocado lunch sandwich was disappointing with one little sliver of avocado on it. Asked for more avocado and was given some. Friend got a bowl of chili and it too was cold. All this after waiting about 45 minutes. I don't believe it was our servers fault and she was nice. The bar was on top of things too. The problem I believe is in the kitchen. Spoke with the manager who said it was very busy today. I don't think that is a good excuse for cold food twice. She adjusted our price to try to make up for the issues. I would have given one star if they had not adjusted the price or given the extra avocado. Visited the Riverdale, NJ Chili's this evening with my wife and mother. I myself have been to this Chili's 5 times in the past month and on three occasions observed one particular server going about her routine that impressed me a lot... and not just because she's easy on the eyes (very). While the rest of the staff look to be doing their jobs very well, Christina is consistently remarkable. Tonight was the first time she was with the pair/team serving my table directly, and her speed, effort, energy was as impressive as ever. An easy socializer, good humored, knowledgeable and never seems to miss the smallest detail- even on tables she ISN'T working. If something looks amiss, she's on it before anyone can notice to complain. A real pro and the type of employee I'd try to steal were I a business owner myself. My wife and I made it a point to pull her over to tell her all this to her face tonight as it's always easy to complain about bad service, and too few say anything, even when it's exemplary. Christina- you are precisely that. The food and drinks are otherwise exactly what you expect from a good kitchen in a chain restaurant. Chili's menu isn't *my* cup of tea, so my choices are few, but what I order is always done quite well. read more

Chili's Riverdale, NJ 07457 : The place needs to shut down when Macaroni Grill Closed! First walking in there, there are no employees there in both of the dining areas to seat you. When you do finally get seated it takes a bit more time for someone to come up to you. First and foremost, the place is a complete rip off. $30 with tip for two basic grilled chicken sandwiches with nothing special on it. I could of gone to shop right and for $4 make myself both. So we're sitting in the bar area, and the spanish female bartender makes physical threats to an employee "going to Fn punch them in the throad" not once but two times! Nice making physical threats to another employee. So it doesnt stop from there, this person thinks the bar area is her own personal grooming area, she takes her hair down on three separate instances right in front of open glasses, open ice bins, plates, silver wear and everything else, thinks there's nothing wrong with getting her hair in your meal and drinks. To top it all off, and this is the most discusting part, she sneezes right into the same area, into her left arm while wearing a short sleeve shirt. Doesnt bother to use a napkin or head off right into the bathroom to go wash her arm, no she thinks being a disease ridden spreading bug to infect others isnt perfectly normal. There was no manner ever in the area for hours, wonder where they were? Its your job to look at the front end, not sitting there in your closet sized office doing who knows what, if you got work to do, you grab a table in the corner and watch the dining area. Ontop of that they have no idea of what the pricing was for the same thing we ordered 3 times in a row, nothing new the same, first day got charged $11.99, then $8.99, then today $9.99 for the same exact thing. 1/3 of the people in the place had attitude problems.
