My husband & I stopped at Chili's (149 Turnersburg Hwy, Statesville) on our way to the mountains (9/24/2022) for a late lunch. We sat in the bar so he could keep an eye on the "game". I ordered the loaded potato soup/salad combination and it did not disappoint. Creamy and loaded, true to the description along with an ample-sized salad. He ordered the cheesesteak & curly fries from the bar menu and it was delicious. It was not overpowered by the peppers & onions and the beef had tons of flavor. The portion size was perfect. Usually, with the chains you know what you're going to get; but this Chili's was on point. I wish I could remember the manager and our server's names so I could call them out. Checked in around 7:27p seated with 10 minutes. Server came was very nice considering they were packed and looked short staffed. Orders were taken but it took like 30 minutes to get the food. we were there for our granddaughters birthday celebration. it took 30 minutes to place our drink order. we waited 1 hour and 45 minutes to get our meal. we were a party of 7, the table next to us was a party of 6. they came in after us, had their food in less than 30 minute and were out before we even got our food. we sat at the table by the front door and froze! everyone coming in the door you could feel the cold coming in. when we finally got our food most of it was cold. we brought a birthday cake and by the time we had eaten, because we had waited so long, no one wanted cake. what a huge disappointment for us all, especially our granddaughter! won't ever go back there. read more

We got there and put our name in with the host. The host said it would be a 10 to 15 minute wait, so we put our name in and sat down. After 20 minutes, I noticed the wait time said 30 minutes to 1 hour MORE until being seated. I asked the host if that wait time was accurate and he said yes. I then asked why he told us it would only be a 10 to 15 minute wait. He said he PROMISED he said 20 to 25 minutes-- which he did not. Even IF he did, it still would have been longer. This is the second weekend in a row that I have ordered online and used curb-side pickup. And it's the second time that I've sat in my car after texting that I have arrived, only to give up and go in and pick it up myself. Last week I waited 10 mins. This week I waited 6. We love Chili's and when we travel, we know if there's a chili's near by, we'll have a good meal. This location did not disappoint. We stopped in here as we made our way back to Ohio from Disney. The server was fantastic, got our drinks immediately and then was super attentive throughout the meal. The restaurant was clean and the food tasted delicious. Chili's is absolutely awesome, it's cleaner and offers more appetizing dishes than their competitors. This a go to spot for those hungry late nights. You'll get your food in a timely manner. You don't have to worry about your food waiting under the heat lamp for a long period of time. Tastes fresh off the grill. The only complaint I have is that the menu is drastically long, it's very cramped up. There are many pages, making it difficult to find specific items. A more simple menu with less pages will be easier to read and find what you're looking for. Highly recommend this location! It really comes in clutch when you're not trying to drive far for some delicious burgers and wings. read more

We went to Chilis last week. The food was tasty, but it really was the customer service. I had a card issue that confused me. The server was sweet, and the manager knew what happen right away and made the adjustment. She was nice and understanding. It was a great experience. It's been almost two years since I dined here. Was not impressed then and except for upgrading the appearance, no improvement otherwise. Stopped for lunch yesterday and experienced the same poor service I did back two years ago. Walk in, get seated and then it's like they either forget about you or the hostess fails to tell your server you are there. Me and my gal pals went here after a long day and each of our meals was FABULOUS. there were a couple of birthdays there and the workers just popped off with dem vocals. Chili's has simply gone from bad to worse! I'm definitely over this location and will drive out of town when I want to eat at Chili's. Staff are pathetic and customer service is non-existent. When items are brought to the table lacking all components, I ask for them and still do not receive them then I'm done. Also, napkins are not supplied when your customers order ribs, come on! Attitudes from waitstaff is simply unacceptable and you wonder why Statesvillians do not patronize your restaurant. Honestly, this location has severely declined since opening. We eat her periodically and the last few times the restaurant appears to be going downhill. We stopped in last night because my daughter really wanted to go to Chili's. We ordered three kids meals, my wife and I both had burgers. The food was good, no complaints in that department however it did take quite a while to come out and when it did it came out separately. All three kids had finished their meals before our burgers got to the table. I wait person was very friendly but seemed stretched thin. I spoke to a manager on the way out the door and she apologized for the service. I wasn't so much complaining as just letting her know it needs attention. We will continue to eat here but we will just change our expectations as the food is good but it won't be when we are in a hurry. Most visits here are great. This time was the first in a few months and it has been an odd experience. Firstly, the appetizer was ok. Cheese fries are always ok. Mango chicken was my favorite, but this time was off. Firstly chicken tasted as if seasoning was dumped on it. Almost too spicy to consume. While moist, the chicken seasoning was an epic failure. The toppings were bland. Ordered an extra side of rice ( as I typically love the rice) just to receive, the usual amount of rice, just split in two and put in a separate cup to appear as is "extra" was given. Wouldn't be that big of a deal if the supposedly extra rice wasn't an extra 2 dollars Broccoli was really good but under seasoned. My partner ordered a bacon burger. While good the top bun was hard and the bacon was flavorless and seemed old. Overall a poor experience, but still a favorite place to go. Just believe it was an off night. (Maybe) read more

It's sad to see all the low reviews. I've eaten here many times over the years and I haven't had a bad experience yet. The food is always good and so is the service. It can be busy at times but overall my experiences have been great. My one and only complaint are that they no longer serve Caesar salad or Caesar dressing and they discontinued baked potatoes. Really? Why? It's the only restaurant I know that doesn't have Caesar salads. They need to rethink their bad decision. Regardless, this particular visit was great. We chose the meal for two for $22. It includes an appetizer and two entres which is very reasonably priced. The service was top notch. The server never let our drinks go below 75% full which is astonishing within itself. The food was delicious, especially the black beans. They had more flavor than most meats do. Lol. I want their recipe. All in all, it is a good place to eat and I will continue to be a loyal patron. read more

Not an enjoyable experience at this location. The waitress had a kind tone, adding "darling" or things like that to her sentences, but could greatly improve her service. Once we were sat, the waitress overwhelmed us with information with pricing when we were ordering. We just wanted to order, it didn't matter how they categorized it under 2 for $25. It was a lot of unnecessary information. Once the menus were taken, I felt overwhelmed at a simple process turned lengthy. Our table remained cluttered with our appetizers and cups that were still full when the waitress brought us all a second cup of each drink. We didn't have room for any of them, but accepted them as being attentive even though we didn't need them. We each had two mostly full cups on the table for the remainder of our time there. When each meal came, still nothing was removed from the table. Our orders were all brought out individually, with about 10 minutes in-between each item. So we all sat and waited for them all while some of the meals started to go cold. We don't eat our meals until everyone has theirs. The waitress didn't say anything about. She would bring one and leave, leaving us to wonder why or how long to wait for the rest of them. The waitress didn't have many other tables, just ours and one more. So when she started cleaning the empty tables, we asked her to please take some of our stuff so we could have room and her reply was "Yeah, I will." and then went back to cleaning. My mother-in-law held two plates stacked in her hands, to hand to the waitress and she looked at it and kept cleaning, then went in the back. She came back a few minutes later to take the items we were holding out for her to take. It became very frustrating. She brought out to go containers for us when we asked, but we had no room to put them anywhere since our table was overly filled. I think she thought she was doing the right things, but poor execution of it all. My husband paid with the little system on the table, and of course he rated it with a great rating because he loves to encourage people and not be a downer. So, here's my honest review: It was not enjoyable. To provide a better experience, I advise the waitress to be attentive to what your customers need. Bring the food out altogether, NOT one at a time. That's so weird! Don't bring extra cups, refill when the cups are empty, and take away the cups; no one needs two. And give people room at their table. I think the icing on the cake was when we were becoming visibly upset, holding out dishes for her to take and she didn't. It was rude. I will NOT be back to that location. read more
