The service was AMAZING! Jayla was wonderful and fun! The sides she was dead on! I went for the Fort Worth rib eye with baked potato and salad and the bro went for the same with fries. My steak was cooked to order but so over seasoned and so fatty. I ordered a side of mushrooms that were burnt. The salad and potato were perfect but the brothers fries were so underdone it was sad. I have not been to this chain in a long long time. I was disappointed and will not return to the chain. There was an outback a longhorn and the roadhouse and I went with a memory. This place is always packed. I was really excited to try it out. We got the family meal deal to go. I had seen it online and it seemed like an easy dinner for my family. When I called in my order the guy that answered the phone offered me no help. Didn't guide me through the order, ask what salad dressing, sides, etc that I wanted. When I got my food the salad was the portion for one person. It didn't come with the cheese or egg on the side, but had clearly been picked through the remove the cheese and egg (so gross). They forgot the gravy for my mashed potatoes. The employee was so rude, he walked away while I was still talking to him. So disappointing because the food is delicious, but I'll never go back. Maybe I just had an awful experience? I filled out a survey and never heard back, so obviously they don't care about keeping customers. read more

We stopped by Texas Roadhouse a little after 11am and were seated right away (they weren't very busy yet). Our food came out quickly and everything was delicious! The side salads were a great size and the ranch dressing was tasty. We ordered ribs and a steak -- both were excellent! The half rack of ribs seemed more like a full rack and were truly fall-off-the-bone tender. The loaded mashed potatoes were creamy and flavorful, and the steak was cooked exactly as requested with a perfectly seasoned baked potato on the side. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was that the plate for the rolls, while clearly washed, still had some stuck-on food from the dishwasher. Food was good but steak was undercooked. Had to send back that took a while with everyone else eating. After I got it was ok. Extremely crowded and loud. Not very family oriented and waitress wasn't very knowledgeable. No one would fill our tea. read more

I got the family pack BBQ chicken to go, that was a huge disappointment. Absolutely nothing like it looks online. The portions are TERRIBLE! I didn't eat so my family had enough to eat. That's truly unacceptable. The sides are supposed to be in a regular to go box that you would normally put an entire meal in. Like 8x8". They put them in the to go boxes that are 1/2 that size. Like a small tiny to go box. About 4x4". Also they're supposed to give you a 1/2 TRAY of salad. They have salad for 1 person!!!My husband didn't know what it should look like, he just picked it up for me or I would have said something. Lesson learned I won't do it again, we get food to go fairly often, and I was looking forward to something different for a change. read more

Of course this is a busy season, but we were not impressed with our food. Our steaks and potatoes were cold. My steak (8oz NY strip thick cut) was barely the size of a deck of cards, not thick at all, and not warm in the slightest. I'm not sure this is the best spot for a steak in Hickory any more. Generally we love TR, this was our first time at this location and it was a terrible experience. First, we were told there was just a five minute wait as a table was cleaned off. Ten minutes later when I asked again I was told someone just left and they were about to clean off the table. Okay.... Next we were sat without bread, now I know sometimes the kitchen can get behind as the bread goes flying out to tables because it is delicious- but nothing was said to us about bread coming and I had to ask about it. Then the drinks....they came out wrong and when we let the waitress know she tried to convince us they were correct. When we got a look at the bill, they were even rang in wrong! Now the food. Ugh, I really don't want to be 'that person' but this was another thing that was not great. The burger was alright but not what we usually expect from a TR. the steak was way overcooked and dry. We asked for sauce to try to help it and our waitress told us they were out (but when we stood up to leave we saw the table behind us had sauce!) the veggies were barely cooked at all. I'm all for el dente veggies but this was still raw. The fries, for those who ordered them, were good but fries is hardly a meal - especially when you are dropping $100+ Our waitress only refilled drinks once we asked, ignoring the empty glasses cluttering the table and still got the drinks wrong. We are veterans and TR usually takes such great care of their veterans. With what these steakhouses charge for meals you'd expect better service and definitely better food. Last night was my last time going to this restaurant. First we signed in online. Said our wait tim would be 15-30 minutes. That's fine. We finally got in after 45 minutes. We placed an order and got our drinks and rolls. Rolls were hard and cool. I never got a refill the whole time I was there. I ordered a New York strip. It was tough but I didn't complain. My baked potato was good until I ask for extra butter. After putting it in the potato and took a bite it tasted like some kind of cleaning liquid and left a horrible taste in my mouth. Waitress never came back. We stopped a couple other waitresses but no one ever came. We paid and left. Later at home I got awfully sick and was sick all night. I am convinced that butter cake in contact with something but never again will I eat here. Just making people aware that this place just doesn't care read more

My wife and I were going to a concert in Valdese that started at 7:30PM - Special C on March 8. We used the online waitlist and we were seated minutes after we arrived around 5:45 PM. It took around 10 minutes before a server approached our table - maybe more. We ordered our complete meal when our server got our drink order. We told the server that we had to get in and out quickly because we had a music event to attend in Valdese at 7:30 PM, The server was great. It was not her fault - she was new and not trained properly. She kept telling us that our meal was coming up soon. At 7:15 we asked for our bill because we had to leave. She offered to make our order to go. We told her that we had no way to keep the food cold because we were going to a concert and would not be home for 5 hours. We offered to pay for our drinks, salads and the rolls. She said the manager would come out and talk with us. Never happened. We finally left at 7:25. We were not charged for our water tea, salads or rolls. We missed the first 18 minutes of the concert. We are headed back to Valdese Old Rock School to heat another concert on Saturday the 22nd of March to hear third Time Out. Like the food but this store seems to be having problems. read more

The day of our visit, we were pleased to find their lunch menu was available until 5:00. We sat at the bar and enjoyed watching the tv's and talking with other customers during our visit. The bartender was very busy but still took great care of us. She promptly brought our drinks with the delicious rolls that Texas Roadhouse is famous for. We each had the 6 oz sirloin with two sides. The salad is always a great side salad and fantastic Ranch. My daughter had the broccoli which was perfectly cooked and mashed potatoes with her steak. It was all fantastic and at a great price, I believe $10.99. I'm surprised there is such a mid-range rating at this location. It was very busy yet we had a perfect visit! read more

Been going here 10 years and today was the last day. They messed up my husbands porterhouse THREE times. It was well done the first two times when he asked for medium rare. The third time, it was stone cold and nasty. After that, they decided to just take the steak off the bill and send us on out the door with my husband still hungry. The waitress just said "sorry, our best cook isn't here yet." The manager didn't even try to come back and make it right. Also, the changing tables are sketchy and look like they are ready to dump a baby in the floor. Won't be back. read more

The place was packed and yet still quite I could hear everyone at our table and we really seem to have a great table. We had there blooming onion not sure what they called it, It was awesome. my salad was fresh and very good, the baked potato wasn't done. We walked in to put our names in to be sat. Hostess suggested sitting outside since the waiting area was quite full. We left our number and sat outside. We proceeded to see many people leave and never got a text. So, we went back inside to check on our table and were told we had been paged multiple times. When we confirmed that the phone number was correct we were confused. Hostess explained the text had not gone through (she said she could see by the red dot on her screen) which confused me even more. So, we stood in line again and had more people sat before us. Another hostess would walk around the waiting area and call names. Although we were eventually sat, I am extremely confused to why we would be advised or suggested to sit outside if they can't bother to walk the fifteen feet out the door to call for names in the outside seating area?? Especially when they knew the text had not gone through. We were not in the car. We were literally sitting fifteen feet from the inside. Disappointed in this experience.
