The food is always good here but this last visit was the last straw for me. I keep thinking they are understaffed and try to be patient but there's no excuse for dinner taking 2 hours each visit when there are empty tables everywhere! We waited 30 minutes after finishing our dessert, the tablet on the table had no checks available and we couldn't get anyone to help us. Our waitress didn't check on us until she saw us getting up to leave. Apparently she had the wrong table number entered in but we were never given an opportunity to get assistance. My father stood at the hostess station to try for several minutes. Finally decided to figure out how much cash we could leave so we could walk out but that turned into an ordeal where almost $20 extra was what they claimed we owed-total BS. We hit the Chili's down in Mooresville semi-regularly and always leave satisfied so we expected the same from this location in Statesville. Our expectations were surpassed. Our server was not just friendly and attentive, she offered ways to group our order under the two for $20 deal in order to get the most value for our dollar AND still honored our Kids Eat Free coupon. This coulda cut into her tip as the bill total was lower but she did this on her own and we appreciated it (thus, she still earned herself a higher tip.) The facility is clean and all of the staff were very attentive. Everyone was very engaged w/our kids and even cracked up when we were leaving and my four year old grabbed a broom and started cleaning. Lol! The food was as expected, consistent w/better Chili's everywhere. I don't give five stars to most chains simply b/c the food itself is not five star food, but the service here is worth five stars and they should be proud. read more

Made a cash payment at the restaurant. The food was horrible and so was the service. We wanted an hour munching on chips and salsa for our food to come out. Our waitress so no where to be seen and when she finally came out I asked how much longer the food would be. She informed me that they are waiting on the Ribs to come out. When the food arrived at my table after another 30 minutes of waiting, all the food was dried out from the heat lamps and everything was cold. I quickly asked for to go boxes and the check because I didn't want another minute sitting there. My bill was $60.79 I left exactly $62 on the table and left. The food was absolutely horrible and dried out. Even if the waitress was waiting for our ribs she could've brought our other food out. Mind you the restaurant was not busy AT ALL! She only had one other table behind us and even they didn't receive their drinks and chips until 45 minutes in. The waitress stayed in the back and I guess forgot about us. I hadn't been to a chili's in at least 15 years until today when we went for lunch. It was Sunday around 1:30 so the place was hopping! We were seated immediately, and had our beverages within a couple of minutes. Service was very efficient, no delays in spite of how busy the place was so the place is managed well, server was sweet, helpful and attentive. The food was ok, I did the 3 for $10 so I had a coke, small salad and chicken quesadilla. My salad was fresh, dressing was ok nothing special. For the quesadilla-they put bacon in it, I would rather not have that but instead have fresh jalapeño... but it was fine. They also serve it with ranch dressing, which I declined what a mess of unneeded calories! If you join in their loyalty club you get a complimentary beverage or chips and salsa so that's nice. We will likely come back for apps and snacks, the server did such a great just job it made me want to go back. read more

This was by far the best experience at a Chili's I've ever had. Even though it took a while to seat us (which I didn't understand because is wasn't very busy) it was definitely great. The food came out very quickly and out waitress Aria was fantastic. Ask for her section when you come in. The prices are actually less pricey than I imagined. A good alternative to the currently MASSIVELY overpriced Applebee's. The food itself was pretty good quality. It didn't blow my mind hence the lack of another star, but everything else was five star. Unless Christine or Angel are working the service is awful. Was there tonight and ordered chips and salsa never got them. We weren't the only ones there with crappy service either. The table next to us was going through the same thing. My husband ordered fajitas and didn't get rice and beans with it. No napkins were given until we had to ask for them. Just ridiculous stuff. It's a chain, so I'm never expecting the best food I ever had however this food was exceptionally not good. I got the shrimp tacos which came with black beans and chipotle lime rice (or something to that effect). I've had this rice in the past and it's been delicious however this was bland and mushy. I had also asked for my tacos without pico de gallo, since I hate tomatoes and you can never get them all out of your food yet my tacos came with what looked like extra pico de gallo. My boyfriend got the salmon with quinoa (which are server couldn't pronounce....know your menu items!) and asked for black beans instead of broccoli. His food came out as a try piece of salmon with black beans and broccoli. He asked for his quinoa as he had requested earlier and then about ten minutes later we were informed they were actually out. Our service was also very bad, we were "greeted" by a host who looked at us grabbed two menus and took us to a booth throwing menus at us and then a server who said "what do you want to drink". There was no personality whatsoever or kindness of any sort. I work at a restaurant as a server and a bartender and know what kind of service to provide and it wasn't what we received at this chilis. I was luckily traveling and just passing through but I would definitely not return to this location. Thankfully, our chilis at home is 100x's better in all aspects. read more

I was happy that Statesville was getting a new restaurant in town and I am even happier Chili's was it! I am friends with a few of the waitresses there and my girlfriend also works there, which makes Chili's a regular spot for me. Of course when I'm in I'm a customer they can goof around with, but on the other hand they are always steadily handling business in a nice and timely manner. From previous experience's I've learned that the waitresses were not always the best here, but that has definitely changed with time. I only give Chili's four stars because the food isn't always my first choice, even though it is good and I am a super fan or the Oreo molten. read more

My family walked into chili's and got seated immediately and we sat at the table for 25 minutes and nobody had come to get drinks or anything so we decided we are going to leave then they asked us on the way out why are you leaving and we said nobody has asked us for a drink order and they didn't even apologize so never eat at chili's again. read more

Worst Chilis I have been to. Waited an hour on our food and when we got it it was blah. My fish tacos were way too spicy even though I had asked it the dish was spicy before I had ordered. My mom ordered a 6 oz sirloin medium and it came out flat and tough. The chips and salsa weren't even good. Stale chips. I'm not sure if they were short staffed or what. When we arrived we were told it would be a 15 minute wait. We were totally fine with that; however, after over 45 mins of waiting in our car, we were finally notified we could come in to eat. Once inside, the music was WAY too loud. We politely asked the hostess if the music could be turned down and were given a bogus explanation about how there wasn't any way to turn it down and that all of the Chili's locations were on the same level and there wasn't anything that could be done. After asking our server, she said she could turn the music volume down and she did. Our waitress was super nice, although our drinks were forgotten many times, even asking for refills. I would prefer to be told the truth to set my expectations, rather than to be lied to and become irritated. This goes for the wait time and the music. I honestly wouldn't recommend this location! Lastly, I probably would not have ever left a review on Yelp, but to know where we were on the waitlist, I had to download the Yelp app. Well, since I had to download it, might as well leave my opinion, although not a good one! read more

We were seated quickly our drinks and fried dill pickles were excellent.but the fries with my husband order were cold and chewy i ordered loaded mashed potatoes and the street corn with a medium rare steak.when my order came out i had broccoli and street corn and my steak was very rare. Went there for lunch on Friday. It was around 2:00PM and there were not busy. There was a small computer on the table, where you could order drinks, pay, play games. No note on it or did our (very absent) server tell us anything about it. I looked at the games, did not play, and tried to pay thru it, but I had a gift card and it wouldn't work. When our server finally brought our check, I was surprised to find a charge for $1.99 for tabletop service. Not really happy since I wasn't informed about any charges, just look at this as another "ripoff" customers face from chain restaurants everyday, as $2.69 for a drink and you have to TELL the server you need a refill. Food was average, portions were average (they're advertising "larger portions" server was below average and missing most of the time. Not sure if we're going back. read more

Chili's is a favorite of my family. Mainly because of the price and selections. Everyone can get something that they like. Not the greatest food in the world, but decent. We have eaten that this location about twice a month for over a year. However, because of the last two dinning experiences we are done with the Statesville Chili's. The service was extremely slow and I mean 30 plus minutes for salad, burgers and Cajun Chicken Pasta. On one occasion we ate in the bar area the other, in the dinning room. The bar was very loud, but not from customers. It was from the wait staff. They were yelling across the room and acting like they were at home having a good time. Our next and our last to this location the service was again very slow. The wait staff took our orders quickly, but the food took over 30 minutes to arrive and there were no special orders...straight items of the menu. As stated we dine at Chili's often. So we decided to go to the Mooresville, NC location on 12/19. The service was quick, food was great and the management came over just enough times to make sure our glasses were full and everything was OK. A very pleasant experience. B/C of the Statesville experience my wife will no longer go to that location. read more
