I've come here on two occasions this month (Feb 2020) and the latest will be my last. First time I came to eat with my husband and son before a date night and we waited for drinks so long after being seated that my husband had time to leave and drop off our son to our baby sitter and come back. When he returned we still waited another 15 minutes or so to order. The customers around us were also looking around waiting for either a bar item or appetizer/entree. We gave the restaurant the benefit of the doubt thinking it was an off day of service being our first time there. Food came out finally and it wasn't the best quality but I took a to-go box anyway. Second occasion was with a group of 6 adults and 3 children. Very much disappointed in every aspect. Tables around us who sat down after us were receiving their entrees before us. We waited an hour for appetizers which came out with our entrees. To make matters worse, the grilled cheese was so burnt I'm baffled as to why the cook would plate it and why the waitress would even waste her time delivering it to our table for a child to eat. The burgers were burnt and were two different menu items. My southwest egg rolls were barely filled and also looked a little old to be honest. We spoke to a manager who told us they were understaffed and that there was nothing they could do for us. We were not the only customers asking for a manager or asking waiters/waitresses where our food was. The people around us had crossed arms and disappointed looks as well. It should be noted that we paid full price and left a tip and we just wanted to share our experience with you. They will not receive business from the 6 of us again. read more

We were seated immediately which was great. We came in because of their email special for National Margarita Day. It took approximately 10 min for a server to come greet us. About an additional 5 minutes for her to return to take our drink order. Soft drinks and water came to the table about 20-25 minutes later, along with out CHIPS and GUAC‍. We waited maybe 10 more minutes for the other chips and salsa. When we asked about our presidente margaritas we were told that they are terribly under staff and because she was under age we had to wait til the bartender could get to our drinks. I did see another waiter fix his tables bar drinks... so it was true. Our food came out ok. But that too took a while. I asked for my corn tortillas to be heated... well they came back out chewy like. The shrimp on my fajita spread was extremely imitation like and under cooked. I had to keep stir frying them on the skillet while it was still hot. The chicken was a little under cooked as well. Everyone else's food seemed to look fine. I didn't complain out loud. WE didn't take the slow service on our waitress, I believe her name was Liz. She did the best she could in the circumstance given. It was obvious that the whole store was in distress. read more

Our older waiter, I forget his name, made this whole trip worthwhile! He took care of at least 6 tables by himself, including ours, while one bleached haired dude stood behind a bar doing nothing that didn't sell alcohol (because it was a Sunday), some spiky haired dude walked around aimlessly with another guy, and a younger female waitress waited on one table. The food was alright, but you should ask for this waiter. I remember he said he was a retired marine. BTW the amount of older guys hitting on obviously younger girls working there should be checked into. I swear I saw the spiked hair guy, who worked there, and some other guy in a yellow jacket (looked like they were 30), who was obviously an employee too, touching / hitting on a very young lady that seats people. I'm just saying it cause someone obviously needs to. Overall it was great place because of our waiter. Curb side pick up has been a bust both times. My wife couldn't even finish her meal, and my loaded mashed potatoes that I ordered did not have any sour cream, and I guess they thought it would be a good idea to put half inch size green onion pieces in it instead. Having taking off the Caesar salad off their menu is a complete disappointment since that is one of my main staple orders at any restaurant. The one time that I decided to stray away from my usual ribs, burgers or chicken dishes, one time I ordered their country fried steak and it was aweful. Very chewy and the breading was nasty. Unless we are looking for some margaritas, I think we will be eating else where. read more

My family eats at Chili's all over the country, being in the military we've had the opportunity to travel a great deal and always know that Chili's is a safe bet. Maybe not "always". They start off bad. The hostess is a VERY young and inexperienced person, this is a fatal error that SO MANY chain restaurants make. The "first impression" for the entire restaurant is made by the least capable person on the staff. That is to say, once she finally got around to greeting people. It was not a busy night, and there was a couple that went into the restaurant just as we were arriving. It takes a while for us to get out of the car, three kids, one an infant in a carseat, and my wife is pregnant, so we're moving slow. When we got inside, the other couple was still waiting for an initial greeting. Within a few more minutes we were finally led to a table. As we were sitting down, the hostess looked at me holding a baby in my arms and asked if I needed a high chair. (Duh much?) Lucky for her, but not so much for us, another table that was using two high chairs was leaving just as we arrived to our table. She had the busboy take one of the UNCLEANED high chairs from their table and bring it directly to ours. No offer or gesture to wipe or clean it. We had our own bottle of hand sanitizer and took care of it ourself. Eventually, the dirty menus arrive and we place a drink order. Drinks are easy for us, two waters, one Dr. Pepper and one Diet Coke. They arrived in good time and the waiter took our order. This is the point that we started to wonder if anyone noticed we were there. After a great while, I didn't time it, at least 25 minutes, maybe longer, our food arrived. The order was close, but not close enough. "Ranch" doesn't mean "Blue Cheese" for the chicken nuggets. Someone could ask if the girl with the steak wants A1 or any other sauce, particularly since the medium well steak is ridiculously dry. Horrendously dry. Dry. The Worst Buffalo Chicken sandwich I've ever had. SO dry, barely even a modicum of sauce on it. Simply awful. My wife started eating her fajita's, which were fine, however it's beyond me how you're meant to eat a fajita trio with three tortillas. Three? Really? These are the little tortillas too. More than three is absolutely necessary for this big plate of fajita meat. Eventually, the waiter was buzzing by, we sat with food for more than 5 minutes before I could get his attention. I asked for some buffalo sauce for my buffalo chicken sandwich, told him my son got blue cheese when he asked for ranch and asked for some A1 sauce for my daughter. These all came quickly, but this was the last time we saw our waiter until we managed to get a bill from him. Empty drinks not refilled. Never came by to see if we needed anything (some napkins would have been nice, drinks would have been better, checking to see if everything is okay with our food would have been a nice touch.) By the way, I watched the hostess for much of the night while we were there, she was never manning the front door post. Every time a customer came in, they were left wondering if anyone would greet them. We've had worse service and worse food before, but for some reason, this one really pissed me off. We won't be back to this Chili's, we will however, be back to a Chili's in some other city I'm sure. read more

When I asked about empty tables, I was told they could not seat us because the kitchen needed to catch up.When I pointed out that it seemed rude to not seat us but instead to expect the customers to stand with no seating while tables were empty. Our family loves this Chili's location! We enjoy the outdoor patio dining option during nice weather. The waitstaff is great although our preferred server is Madison. She is very polite, totally organized, and keeps beverages refilled promptly. Julian is an attentive and hands on manager. He gets right in with the staff during busy times and consistently checks on diners. The menu has a great selection (can't get enough of the fried dill pickles, YUM!) and orders arrive promptly, and prepared accurately. The restaurant is clean, well maintained, and has a great atmosphere. We highly recommend! read more

So, I love great customer service, both in dine-in and take-out. However, lately, this doesn't seem to be the spot for it. Repeatedly incorrect to-go orders, and the most recent dine in experience was superbly below par. In summary, a 15+ minute wait time to be seated, in a non-crowded restaurant. Followed by extremely uncomfortable seating, as the benches were so far away from the table, we had to lean at a very uncomfortable angle for 25 minutes until the table behind us left, just to be able to pull the bench almost 20 inches closer. This was then followed by having to stop the dinner order request from the waitress, for us to ask for an appetizer, followed by an incomplete dinner, with tortillas that came out 20 minutes after the meal was delivered, which required us to request silverware. After some blaming the kitchen for the mistakes, the manager came out after 10 more minutes with a simple apology, nothing more. After having to request another beverage, our check was delivered with no invitation for dessert. Now, as I am in the customer service business, I'm generally very understanding, and never rude or ugly about these types of situations. But come on, after taking so long to get anything right, shouldn't you at least ask if the people at your table would like dessert? Maybe offer anything, even a free drink, or some explanation to the lack service. Nothing like that was received. How disappointing. Will probably not be returning until a change in management can help out the experience. read more

Well, a couple weeks ago I called in a to go order. The order was wrong but they were busy so I ate it and did not complain. I decided to try it again, this time place the order online to avoid mess ups and AGAIN order is wrong. First off, if you are going advertise you have an item make sure you have it available. False advertisement kills business. I ordered mashed potatoes and gravy... the girl (which had a attitude and was never polite) who helped me check out said "we don't have gravy." Ok, I understand it's not her fault management can't update websites appropriately but the rude attitude she had could have been avoided. I then take my order home and open it and my chicken was NOT tossed in the dressing I chose. Ok, even if you want to try to say "we don't toss to go orders" then WHY did you not give me my dressing?????? Holy crap. What a nightmare. I highly suggest anywhere but here. read more

I went for lunch on Sunday I met my friend there. We both ordered steak OMG mine was raw I ordered it medium well. So I sent the steak back when I received it, it was the same steak that had been microwaved. So tough I could not even cut it. Then the shift manager had the nerve to send me a bill for $2.97 for my beverage!@#$%^&*( I contacted the general manager in hopes that the shift manager and the server will be retrained to perform their job. read more

Went to the chilis on Broad Street for lunch today. Ordered a side of ranch dressing. It had a dead fly in it. When I told the waitress she said she would bring us another one. Then I looked into my water before I drink it and there was a dead something floating in that also. Had to tell the waitress about that.dot-dot when Julian the manager came over to ask how everything was I told him exactly what I had found in the ranch dressing and in my water. His explanation was it's hard to keep the flies out with the door always opening. There was no attempt made to take anything off my bill or to try to make me happier after this experience. My sister's birthday was today and went to Chilli's with high hopes. We had a party of 8 the hostess got us seated. We sat down for approximately 25-30 minutes and no waiter or waitress came to our table. There was no wait and the restaurant was not full. Needless to say a bad taste has been put in my mouth for this location. We walked out and gave another restaurant our business who appreciated it. read more

After sitting for a while we were impatiently waiting on our drink order to be taken, we waited 30 minutes thinking the staff was just having troubles or something but the place was not even busy. Our waiter was a slacker. He came to our table about three times and we had to ask for refills. When we finally got our food, my fajitas were not cooked well. My medium steak was rare, my shrimp and my carnitas were cold. The tower of toppings they give you was 1/4 filled for everything except the sour cream. I brought this to the attention of the server who apologized and took the plate to the back. After about one minute he returns and gives me the plate. The exact same plate. It looked like they just stuck it in the microwave and brought it back to me. I told him this is the same plate and I'm not accepting this. He took it back and apologized. I waited for about 20 minutes. The manager brings me my fajitas. This time the steak is overcooked (well done instead of medium) my pork carnitas are lukewarm and my shrimp is barely cooked (still white and slimy.) I told the manager this and I didn't want to wait for it to come out again (we had already been there for almost 2 hours) The only thing I ate were the carnitas. They brought the check and we saw they charged us twice for the fajitas. We brought this to the manager's attention and he apologized and said they only charged us once. I reiterated to him that my food was not cooked correctly even the third time and he apologized and took both charges for the fajitas off. He was very nice but it seemed like he was not in control of his kitchen. We actually ended up talking to the general manager that night. This used to be a great place to have lunch/dinner. I don't know what happened here but we are very disappointed in the food and the service and the management. read more

I ordered the pork fajitas and they were horrible!! The meat didn't even look, taste, or smell like meat! The server took about 20 minutes to come to the table so I could express my concerns, so my family had already finished eating (not that I wanted to order anything else). The manager on duty was nice and did offer something for me to take home (which is the only reason I gave 3 stars) as well as taking the fajitas off the bill. I can not speak highly enough of the great job from the staff and management of Chili's in Sumter, SC. We were part of an anniversary party that had 30+ members. Even though we were a large party, the staff quickly seated us and did it in such a way as to make sure we were in booths near each other and at table we could join together. As with any large party, ordering could have been a hassle, but they manage to get everyone order straight. One person did have a rare hamburger, when they wanted well done. The manager offered to make a new hamburger for that person himself. One of our waiters mention that this was the first large party she handled since joining Chili's. You could not tell it from the service she provided. She made sure that our food was provided on time and that everyone bill was correct (amazing considering we had people paying for others that were across tables). So just want to acknowledge the awesome service from this Chili's. read more

Had lunch here recently and the service was great! Friendly staff, waiter was super nice. I ordered a burger and asked for mayo on it. They put everything UNDER the burger, between the bottom bun and the burger which I thought was odd. But they put so much mayonnaise on it that it soaked through the bun and it was complete mush, and it was oozing out of the sides and all over the fries. I had to eat my burger with a fork because the bun fell apart when I tried picking it up. The staff was so great though! Very professional and kind. read more
