I've been spoiled with amazing ice cream places near me like Jeni's and Pop CLE and Mitchell's...but I was impressed with this spot! I went to another location in a strip mall area also in Medina somewhere and it was just as good! The available flavors are soooo good and unique. The lavender queen bee was so bomb and smooth. The buttered popcorn flavor is MMMMMMmm. Whatever other flavors I've tried are pretty good too and the workers are all so friendly and provided their feedback. Prices are reasonable and the servers are very generous with the portion as opposed to many other places (I'm looking at you, Popcorn Shop in Chagrin! TINY scoops). Just wish they had a sugar cone option and a better waffle cone. The waffle cone was really thin, brittle and not as satisfying as others I've had. It costs more than big name ice cream chains. It's independently and locally owned. Of course it will be more expensive that mass produced stuff. It still manages to have many flavors. There's always a vegan flavor made with stuff like coconut milk. It's about $3 for a cup. My favorite is vegan cookies and cream, which tastes just like Oreos in vanilla. It's always hard to choose. This place is the perfect location to get local ice cream in Medina. They do such a great job on representing our town with different flavors... and throwing in a few unique options. Their butter pecan is hands down my favorite anywhere... but my family is always trying new flavored and I love getting to sample the different options. Their waffle cones are so delicious! This place is pretty crowded, even with covid, but they do a good job of keeping the line flowing, wearing masks and keeping it clean. My son and I were walking the square and I noticed many people eating ice cream. Naturally, that made me want to eat ice cream also. So we walked the square until I found a scoop shop. We walked in and scoped out the flavors. They had a couple vegan flavors, which was cool. But I have a thing for butter pecan, so that's what I requested. The ice cream is awesome. Many flavors are too weird for me "jalapeño cornbread", but the ones I have gotten have been awesome. The problem with Chill is the service and service personnel. Every employee is rude and just seems annoyed when you walk in. And when you ask for a sample - it's a huge inconvenience. Don't even think about taking your time to think for two seconds about what you want....they will just skip you and move on. And Gawd forbid you try to contact them. I reached out with a problem in three different formats - with photos of a huge, long hair that was found in my husbands ice cream. They read it and do not respond. Chill has the most unique ice cream options! I've visited multiple times and consistently leave happy! The samples give you the opportunity to make sure you don't mix something too crazy! What an awesome little gem on the Square. If you are in the area, and looking for sweet, you have to stop by! The second you walk in, you get that sweet smell of ice cream and waffle cones. The decor is cool and the whole space is great. Just really well done. The ice cream and treats themselves are fantastic. From more adventurous flavors like lavender, to Kettle corn, there is something for everyone. My personal favorites are the Philly Vanilla, The Leprechaun one, any of the Sorbets, the butter pecan one, and any of the cookie varieties. There are also great shakes, ice cream cakes, and pints to take home. The menu rotates but there are some staples that you can always find or take home. The blueberry sorbet is out of this world, I've never had anything that tasted so straight-up blueberry from anywhere...except a blueberry bush. I also tried a pomegranate mint sorbet...sounds bizarre, and it was, in a really great way. But despite my dairy intolerance...I've definitely sampled every dairy-full flavor my friend has ever ordered from there...and every single one has been ridiculously incredible. I mean, even their vanilla is out of this world, with a full and creamy and complex vanilla flavor I've never experienced. But their pumpkin pie ice cream is what had me contemplating the sacrifice of my digestive system's well-being for a cone of my own. I've been to many ice cream places in Cleveland and Akron area....this by far is the most creative and consistently good quality. Though I am not a fan of all their flavors it is so cool to see them thinking outside the box, rotating and trying new combinations of flavors and textures, and also integrating seasonal local ingredients and themes from Medina. I have tried about 25 different flavors but my favorites have been sweet potato cayenne and one with cornbread. Place is kept clean, staff is nice considering they are constantly preparing samples. I was excited to try Chill Artisan Ice Cream. It's a cute little shop located in the heart of Medina. The flavors were unique, the spoons were colorful and who doesn't want to eat ice cream out of a cup that looks like the markings on a cow!? I was truly disappointed by my visit. I sampled several flavors and had a difficult time making a decision because none of them impressed me. I eventually decided on the Philly Vanilla, a vanilla ice cream that uses different types of beans. It was mediocre but I figured I'd jazz it up with rainbow sprinkles. When I received my ice cream I was disappointed to find only about 7 sprinkles on top. I did not enjoy my treat! I will add that my mom had Peach Almond Yogurt and truly enjoyed hers.
