My wife and I decided last minute to get married last summer on 4th of July weekend at our Wallis Sands family beach house. Given the good reviews on Yelp, we came across Chill Catering and hit it off with Gary immediately. Despite such a short notice, Gary was able to accommodate for us, even over a busy holiday weekend, without any issue. The catering menu was so well rounded, all the options made it easy to create a delicious dinner for our guests (The Chicken Piccata was a hit!). His staff was prompt upon arrival, set up on site and executed all the dishes perfectly. They were so friendly with the guests and made sure everyone had tried the chowder, no plate was empty and no drink cup unfilled. The strawberry cake ended up making the perfect mini wedding cake! We recently worked with Jess and the chef of Chill Catering for a birthday party. We had passed appetizers and a hot meal followed by a birthday cake made by Chill's pastry chef. Everything was delicious. Working with Jess was so easy and she responded in a timely manner to our questions and gave us great suggestions. The party was outside and the guys came and set-up nicely right on time and stayed for the entire party. They boxed up leftovers and cleaned up at the end. I highly recommend Chill Catering for your needs. They are easy and fun to work with and the food is tasty. They have so many different selections to choose from that it is hard to choose your menu because you will want a little bit of everything. Chill catered our wedding on 11/4/23. To say that Scott's team killed it was an understatement. Every single member of the crew went above and beyond to fulfill my wife's vision of a perfect ceremony. Regarding the food: hors d'oeuvres were excellent (bbq meatballs, bacon wrapped scallops, cheese/cracker board, fruit, veggie platter) Entrees (pulled pork, steak tips, Mac and cheese, glazed carrots, tossed salad, cornbread) were outrageous. We were beyond satisfied with the food. It is also worth noting that the tasting was an incredible experience. Chill also fully delivered on an excellent bar service. The staff was prompt, professional and beyond kind in their bar service. Their recommendation of a maple bourbon apple cider as a cocktail of choice was skillful and insanely popular with the guests. We worked with Alanna at Chill catering for our September wedding. The initial contract had gratuity included and three weeks before wedding after adding cornbread they informed us gratuity is no longer included and we now needed to come up with additional funds towards that. We spent a good amount on food (over $9000 grand) so you would think they would not want to upset their customers by changing the contract. All in all, food and service were great and their clean up was spectacular. They did forget to bring the vegetarian dish and credited my account for that easily. In closing I would use them again but they could use a little more common sense and courstesy in billing and contracts, since coming up with an additional $1500 or so for a tip when it was included before is a bit extravagant. read more

Gary is an ASSET for any occasion!! We hired Chill Catering for our beach wedding and EVERY SINGLE guest raved for weeks about how excellent the food was and how wonderfully friendly and helpful the staff turned out to be!! From start to finish, Gary WAS the most creative, thoughtful and caring wedding planner we could have ever dreamed of! Absolutely EVERYTHING was perfect! Also, just like the name, they are Chill and open to do anything and everything you want! If you can think of it, he'll make it happen. If you have a special family dish that must be included... He's totally welcoming of that where as EVERY other caterer we spoke with (and there were a lot!) had a set menu, no substitutions and none would allow for us to add a dish or appetizer unless they made it and charged for it. Not only did Gary assist the bride and groom with the menu planning, he also did the morning after brunch! Both were amazing! I got prompt responses to my (many) emails, and she was so attentive to our wants, needs, etc. I'll admit we were a little nervous at the tasting, as there were several points where we were just not on the same page. Alanna was very receptive to all comments and suggestions, and the results were an absolute success! The food at the wedding was delicious, unique, and beautifully presented. We've gotten so many compliments on it, and that's coming from quite the foodie crowd! Delicious food but very poor customer service when something went wrong with their presentation at a catered event. They failed to take responsibility or acknowledge their faulty actions that led to cold food being served to our guests. During a post-event conversation with them, they repeatedly blamed the bad experience on us, then "blew us off", quickly cut off the conversation and hung up on us. What started as a good experience changed to, literally, a bad taste in our mouths. Lots of folks have obviously had good experiences with them (and the food is delicious, as stated), but consider this review a balance of how their customer service can lead to an unfortunate, bad experience. We won't recommend Chill Catering to any of our friends or coworkers. read more

Gary and his staff are AMAZING to work with! We had our wedding catered by this company and all our guests loved it! They couldn't stop talking about how awesome the food was and how attentive, helpful, and friendly the staff were! Gary and Alanna at Chill Catering are absolutely amazing. My husband and I just had our wedding catered by Chill on March 23rd, 2013. We were looking to do something a little different from the cookie cutter reception that is standard at most weddings and we had a difficult time finding a caterer who could grasp that concept. Until we found Chill. They were happy to work with us and even excited to help us make our vision a reality! They offered suggestions and tips (which we took) that ended up making the whole event turn out far beyond our expectations. They handled aspects that we didn't even consider and were there to answer every little question or concern that we had...which were many! Not to mention the food. Absolutely outstanding and BEAUTIFUL! The displays were works of art in themselves and our guests loved the food for which we received many compliments. The only reason we would consider giving this company one star would be because the actual service and food the day of our wedding was decent. Other than that our overall experience with Gary was a nightmare. He was rude, unprofessional, obnoxious and how he manages to run a business is mind-blowing. A few months before the wedding. I asked to sample some of the food on our menu, he seemed irritated we would even asked, so we offered to pay, he said everything on our menu he served at his restaurant, we drove an hour on one of our days off and when we arrived there was NOTHING on our menu available to try. His manager working that day offered us soup from four days ago, and leftovers from an event the night before. Um no thank you. I had then asked for some items to be removed because I am not paying thousands of dollars for food I may not even like, he didn't apologize, didn't seem to care and complained at having to update my invoice. That's only part of the disrespect we received, the rest isn't worth our time. IF you want to save yourself a major headache and disrespect during the happiest time of your life, DONT hire this prick. read more

Allow a nice menu and venue was offered for this event. I cannot say I would recommend this catering service to anyone purely on principle. If you have an agreement on what the customer will be charged then the customer would expect at least some common curtesy when add-on's are being offered for an additional fee. At least if you have some idea what you're working with you would be more understanding of additional costs. "Not your uptight event" ? To me that means I shouldn't have to be worried about who is consuming what. That my event should make my life easy. Especially when you're paying a decent amount of money for a well planned event. If in fact there is a misunderstanding then maybe the caterer should take a little more care when explaining the specifics of the menu. Having worked in the food industry for many years I've seen discrepancies handled in a professional manner and I cannot say the same here. I can't say enough good things about Gary and Chill Catering! We used them for our outside wedding bbq last weekend and it was absolutely perfect. Everyone raved about how great the food was, the portions were huge (some people even said it was the first time they left a wedding full!), and the staff went above and beyond. Everything went off seamlessly. The staff that was at our wedding did everything to put out a perfect cocktail hour and buffet dinner, literally moving around without guests knowing. They went above and beyond the typical "caterer duties" - picking up beer bottles, serving me and my husband, as well as some of our less mobile guests, relighting candles, putting out dessert (that they didn't even provide!), cleaning all the silver wear and dishes, and leaving everything spotless. They even packaged up all the leftovers into plates for the guests to take home! They are completely self sufficient, needed only a table to put the food on, and from start to finish did everything flawlessly. Gary and his team at Chill Catering were an absolute delight to work with. I contacted Chill after reading other yelp reviews to cater our corporate outing at York's Wild Kingdom. I was very hesitant about the location of our outing, but at least I knew the food would be fantastic. Gary was extremely accommodating to any requests that I had and even gave me suggestions for next years outing. The cupcakes are to die for! Their "award winning pulled pork" was certainly a winner with my company. Gary and his staff also left the remainder of the food for stragglers and any other hungry guests. To say that there was more than enough food is an understatement. They definitely know how to deliver. I wish that they were closer to my company and could cater more for us.
