This place is better for older kids. The kids get very wild and there is a scooter track that…read moretoddlers try to walk right through to get to the best area for them to play--a wooden playground. The bouncy houses somewhat obscure your view of the children so it is hard to make sure that older kids are not being too rough with the young ones. The employees are not the friendliest and last time I was there I was chided by one for an incident that several people witnessed and it was not at all what the employees said it was. My daughter went down the slide and slammed her crotch on another kid's leg. She started to cry and the employee said she had been crying awhile when I thanked her for getting my daughter out, as she was 4 feet closer to the bounce house than I was. Often my daughter does not seek "rescue" when she gets hurt anyways. I usually see if she wants to come to me or not. My friend's daughter was with my daughter when it happened and we all could see that she had not been "crying for quite awhile". We were standing around the corner from the employee and out of sight to her, but we were watching the whole time. I found it pretty rude. It is an okay place to let kids blow off steam, but I like the overall set up at Twice the Fun in Dover better and the staff are more friendly. By the way, if they truly thought I was in violation of their rules or was not watching my daughter, they should have said it in a more professional manner instead of a snide remark. I think it was unprofessional.

I have had to call there four or five times and still have only received half of what is owed back to me. Often times the staff has to take a message and they say they will be sure to pass it along but you may want to call back the owner your self-seems like they know she is not going to follow through with any type of refund unless you hound her. I have spoken to the owner 3 times and have left voice mails. Each time she says she will take care of it right away and then doesn't. Frustrating! It is also nerve racking with my two and three year old because many parents of the older kids do not pay attention to what they are doing and how rough they are being around the younger ones. My son loves the loop with the cars but my daughter has been taken out while trying to cross it. They need to figure out a way to make it more safe. Both kids do have fun but is stressful as a parent to go there when there are a lot of checked out parents of older kids. I would have given it a three if it was not for my on-going refund issue.

Perfect venue for a New Hampshire style wedding. Rustic farmhouse in a wooded setting with…read moreatmospheric romance. Two story, lofted indoor space with full bar, plus outdoor porches, patio, and ceremony-ready gazebo. The managers help plan events but hosts may DIY the meetinghouse decor as early as the night before! I attended a summer wedding here. Staff provided coordinating and bartenders but every other vendor was hired by the bride and groom. They gave us space to prep and store appetizers, which was clutch. Josiah's Meetinghouse is along a major route, which makes it easy to find but adds traffic sounds to ceremonies outside. Cranking the music helped our party drown it out. As long as they're not busy, they're pretty generous with time.

We just attended a weekend Wedding at Josiah's. The Venue itself is nice enough but there are a few…read morenegatives. First; Parking. Be prepared for a hike. An uphill one. Second; Parking Lot Lighting. It's an obstacle course out there in the dark. Third; terrible acoustics. A lot of this is probably on the band but; the sound level and quality were agonizing, at times. Fourth; Josiah's Management has made a decision that it's a good idea to shoehorn advertising into every opportunity on the Dance Floor. Neon Lights continuously flash their logo across the wedding guests. The epitome of tackiness and tastelessness. I've never seen anything like it. I'm not sure if it shows up in photos but; it sure was an eyesore in person. Overall, an enjoyable night, as Weddings usually are but; I sure wouldn't recommend Josiah's Meetinghouse. Especially for an evening affair with mixed age attendees.
