We love Flag Hill, so much so that we joined their Case Crew club. While we enjoy a few of their wines, we really love their spirits, in particular the Maple Bourbon. While their product can be found at the NH state liquor stores, I really recommend that you plan a visit. The location is beautiful and on a nice day, you can enjoy sitting out on their patio. (note they are building a new visitor center). I recommend a tasting on the patio with some cheese/crackers for an enjoyable time. You can also do a tour of the facility as well. 4 of us enjoyed a well thought out menu at a tasting dinner last night, group seating with tables of 10. The pulledpork on puff pastry, not overly saused was a great start. Maple bourbon Cocktail worked. The squash soup was a hit, creamy and flavorful. Wine a tad sweet. The duck brest/pork chop were winners, both were cooked perfectly. The pie was delicious! Each bite a variety of flavors due to the nutty toppings - a must try, The atmosphere was noisy, as it was a fun night. We stayed here in May, with their Harvest Host program, in our little camper on our way to Acadia ME. We absolutely loved the setting but more importantly, we loved the wine and spirits, ( especially the delicious white wines and superb maple bourbon). Came here towards the end of the summer because my friends were in town for a visit and we decided to visit a couple of locations in New Hampshire. Black Hills winery it was one of those stops on our trip. That location is easy to locate and is accessible from the highway. We got a Groupon coupon for our visit a two for one. There was ample parking and we got there early which was great because people started showing up in the parking lot was filling up. We did the tour which was I believe almost an hour they showed us a distillery, the winery their equipment and went to the wind groves for the history and the descriptions of the grapes. They took us out to the lakes as well as their cabins. The cabins are used for special events such as weddings which they were having one that day. After the wine tour we had our winetasting we tried different flights of wine with hors d'oeuvres. The customer service was excellent the outdoor dining and winetasting was wonderful .....to be able to sit outside and take in the beauty of the wine groves as well as the beautiful outdoors was a great way to have a wine tasting read more

Flagged as a must try!! What a great stop while on a road trip. The tastings were all so good that it was difficult to choose what to purchase at the end ! We generally favor sprits, but we definitely enjoyed the red wines they offered. Not too sweet and perfectly smooth. The vodka, gin, and liqueurs were stand outs for sure for us (honorable mentions for the rum and whiskey too). So smooth, and truly enjoyable to the palette. A friend lives in Portland, ME and I live in Greater Boston so we are always looking for a place to meet equidistant to the two of us. A friend recommended Flag Hill so we met there one beautiful fall Saturday. We took the tour given by the owner, and it was fascinating. So much goes into making wine, and bad weather can be devastating. We were with a group of about 15 and he showed us where they grow the grapes, where they distill, and talked about the other animals and plants they have. He was quite knowledge, I learned a lot and was impressed with the dedication it takes to run a place like that. It took about an hour and then we did a tasting. We were originally planning to have lunch nearby but no need, they had a couple of lovely cheese and charcuterie boards that went well with the wines. We had 5 tastings each including wines, bourbon and whiskey. We each wound up with a bottle of delicious wine and will be back. The grounds are lovely; it would be the perfect place for a wedding or other celebration. read more

I love Flag Hill. Flag Hill offers great wines, liqueurs, and spirits. Their tastings are fun and popular, and the tasting room is nice. They can get busy--the first time I went for a tasting was on a Saturday afternoon in January and it was packed! Additionally, you can get married here, which is exactly what my sister did, with an outdoor ceremony and tent reception. Not only is the venue beautiful, the food is great and the staff is amazing. The wedding coordinators, Christa and Maddie, were there not only for my sister and brother-in-law, but for the entire wedding party. They were helpful and kind, and also so excited for us. There are not enough words to describe our amazing experience with Flag Hill. We originally had booked another venue, and after months of little to no communication, we decided to move on. THANK GOODNESS we did! Christa, Maddy, and Candace are one well-oiled machine of a team! I was scared to switch venues, but the minute I met with them, I knew it was a great decision. Before the wedding, they had everything very organized on their online portal, answered all my questions, and ensured we had everything we needed. The day before the wedding, they walked us through everything, check-in with us to make sure they knew exactly how we wanted things set up, and made us feel extremely comfortable and confident our wedding would go off without a hitch. Day of the wedding they were on top of everything! Things I didn't even think of, they took care of. Everything was set up perfectly. They made the day seamless, always knowing where to be and when. They helped us through every step of the way while also staying out of the way. I was warned multiple times that something always goes wrong at a wedding and to be prepared, but that is not true when you're at flag hill. Flag Hill hosted my wedding Oct 23, 2020 and I couldn't have asked for a more perfect venue. They were extremely flexible given the COVID situation and were able to work with us given a smaller guest count and some special requests. The coordinators were extremely responsive and able to answer any major questions up until the day. I did not have to worry about the venue at all the day of.... The coordinator Sarah helped to keep the event on schedule given our long photo session and made sure everything happened on time. She even helped sneak in an unplanned ice cream "ceremony" with my husband and I! The food was fantastic, we had the BBQ buffet, the pulled pork being the best! And Flag Hill was able to accommodate a dairy-free vegetarian meal. The foliage during October was perfect and the rows of grapes made for an extra-special experience. Make sure to pay a little extra for the tent heaters and the fire pit, they are ABSOLUTELY worth it!!! This was a quick stop on the way up to Jackson and both my boyfriend and I were so happy we did ! The vineyard takes reservations as to limit the crowds during COVID which made me feel much safer. You get 5 tastings from their selections of wine and whiskeys which is only $5 for the flight! As a New Yorker, I honestly thought they meant 5 bucks for a glass in the flight and thought oh well that seems reasonable. I almost passed when they cashed me out and only charged me 10 bucks for both sets of flights. The vineyard itself is beautiful and made for a nice relaxing afternoon. Christa, Maddie, and their entire team are amazing to work with! If there was ever a team that was doing exactly what they are meant to do, it is them! Throughout our entire wedding planning experience and wedding day, they made us feel comfortable as well as made the process so easy and non-stressful. Christa and Maddie were extremely easy to get in contact with whenever we needed anything and went out of their way to check in with us. We got married during all of the COVID-19 restrictions and they kept us informed about everything that they could and could not do throughout the process as well as went above and beyond to make our guests feel safe and comfortable. The venue itself is gorgeous, has a nice open flow and rustic look, and provides many places for amazing photos. You get married overlooking the vineyards rain or shine. One of the big things we were concerned with was the weather as we got married in October in New England and there were many venues that we saw where the backup location was not as good or required a room change over. At Flag Hill, their rain location was just as pretty as the non-rain location and you were still able to overlook the vineyards as you get married. It did rain on our wedding day, and the team was able to change over the venue in minutes and we still got an amazing view and photos both during and after the ceremony. In addition to the view, set up, and amazing staff, Flag Hill also has amazing food and drinks. As a winery & distillery, their cocktails and drinks were on point! Their chef is fantastic and there was nothing that we ate that we did not like. We had been to a few weddings where the wedding food was, eh, or not that good due to the large quantities it was being produced in. That was not the case at Flag Hill! All of our guest raved about the food and drinks (fantastic and friendly bartending staff as well) throughout the entire night. The chef and team did a great job of serving everyone quickly and making sure that all the food was cooked perfectly! They were also able to accommodate all of the dietary restrictions our guests had. In general, they were very flexible with our requests. I will most definitely be back every season! This is my first winery experience so I may not have all the answers but the wine here is exceptional! It tastes amazingly fresh and crisp. The ambience was very calm and casual, I wish there was a little music but once the drinks are flowing you kinda just takeoff in conversation. So anyway we had 5 choices of wine each for $5 and the charcuterie was between $10-$15 also very delicious. We enjoyed that very much. We were only allowed one round of tasters then we had to order from the menu. I got frozé which was very yummy. We were able to take the drinks outside where you'll find the vineyard, a chicken coop and some piggies. It was very romantic and intimate for a great price. Yuck! We sampled the liquor tasting this afternoon. All 5 were sickly sweet with strong artificial flavors, mostly vanilla. The server mentioned the maple flavored one was vodka with maple syrup but make that cheap artificial syrup. Everyone was equally bad as the next. Highly recommend Flagg Hill for a wedding! Our son and his wife were married there yesterday. Gorgeous site amongst the rows in the Vineyard. It was outside under an arbor. Inside for reception with flaps on side of tent open. The event staff managed by Krista very organized, attentive and joyful! Led us through the moves gently and with humor. A nice touch were the games outside for kids and adults, fire pit and high cocktail tables for guests to stand around outside and get away from inside activities. Many picture points to use. The food was superb and would choose the items again. Weather was rainy almost right up to the wedding time. Cleared dramatically. Chairs set up were dried off immediately. Looked like an Italian villa with the orange clouds above the Vineyard. I can't say enough about Flagg Hill. Everyone enjoyed themselves immensely! Would recommend highly! read more

BOOK YOUR WEDDING AT FLAG HILL. We just had our dream wedding at Flag Hill on 8/7/2021. We received a personal recommendation to check out Flag Hill from a co-worker of my husband. We were looking for a place with non traditional wedding food (BBQ) with an outdoor ceremony option and a tented reception. We are people who like to have a good time, and really wanted our wedding to be a huge fun outdoor celebration and Flag Hill gave us everything we could have ever wanted and SO MUCH MORE. Christa, Maddie, and the whole Flag Hill crew run like a well oiled machine. They are exactly the people you want by your side through the planning process and on your wedding day. From the moment we met Christa, we felt like family. You can tell right away that they love what they do, and it showed from the first email to the thank you hugs at the end of our wedding night. Every email was responded to in a timely manner, every question we had was immediately met with an answer, and every "what do I do" with a seamless solution. Christa and Maddie even reached out a few times to check in. The planning part was made so simple all the information and checklists they provide you with. You know right away what you have to do and the timeline you have to do it. The communication with all of our vendors was easy because of the information Flag Hill provided us with for them from the beginning. We felt as though they were extremely fairly priced compared to other venues we looked at, and dare I say affordable. We never once worried about going over our budget and were able to include add ons like lawn games, a fire-pit, late night pretzels and beer cheese, the STUNNING new tent draping package, and the real MVP of our wedding... the surprise fireworks display! Rehearsal day was seamless, everyone knew exactly what to do, and they even took the wedding party's drink order at rehearsal and had our drinks ready for us right after the ceremony! I gave Maddie full control of boxes of decorations and signs, and where to place them and everything was displayed perfectly. Our wedding day was beyond what we could have imagined. The venue was stunning all decorated. They have a large get ready room and private bathroom for your wedding party to use freely which was a huge help day of. The room comes stocked with a basket of everything you never thought you would need which was a lifesaver multiple times. The BBQ food was the talk of the night (until the fireworks) and the drinks were killer. The endless list of flag hill wine options, great variety of beers on tap, and our 2 signature drinks one made with Flag Hill's own gin(our fave) and the second a spicy margarita recipe they came up with for us were all a hit. It was really awesome knowing we were supporting a local winery and distillery at the same time. Not once did we have to worry about where we had to be, or what was going on. Christa and Maddie have a way of running the entire production while making it seem effortless. Because of them, we truly were able to be present and just enjoy it. A lot of guests said it was the best wedding they had ever been to. Maybe it was because everyone had been cooped up in the house because of Covid for over a year and a celebration was just what they needed. Maybe it was because of all the awesome add on options or because our DJ had everyone on the dance floor all night. We personally think it had a lot to do with Flag Hill, Christa and Maddie, and the love they have for what they do. My new husband and I toured Flag Hill Winery & Distillery a little under a year ago and were thrilled to host our wedding reception there a few short weeks ago. I can't say more good things about our experience from start to finish. When we visited the winery a year ago, Frank the owner gave us a tour, showed us a video and went over all the details of hosting an event there. We were immediately in love with the beautiful surroundings and appreciated Frank's clarity- when planning a wedding the fine print can get blurry- this was not the case at Flag Hill. We also could see that we were dealing with a group of professionals that understood weddings and had a great deal of experience under their belts. This is when we met Christine the Director of Events, and our life line for the next year of planning. From the get-go we could see that Christine is detail oriented and organized, but fun. We were planning a wedding, its supposed to be fun! We had several meetings with Christine throughout the year, each meeting was prefaced by documents of things we should be thinking about and tips for where we were in the planning process at the time. This was appreciated and helped us stay on track. We accomplished a great deal in the meetings but it was always fun- and usually included a tasting or two or Flag Hill's exceptional wines and spirits. New England wines can get a bad rap for being too sweet, try these wines, they're different and delicious. And the John Stark Vodka? Amazing, and made from local apples! The day before our wedding had friends and family galore and a lot to accomplish before our big day. As the bride, I was feeling really stressed- there were just so many details. I felt an immediate relief that afternoon when the entire party descended upon Flag Hill with our decorations etc and we reviewed the set up and final details with Christine and Pam. We knew our event was in good hands, copious notes had been taken and everything would be perfect. We left Flag Hill to head to our rehearsal at the church and our rehearsal dinner, totally at ease. Our wedding day was perfect, as the bride I know I'm biased, but it was. We had perfect weather, our ceremony was beautiful and personal and we arrived at Flag Hill ready to party. The grounds are really well cared for and were just gorgeous on that July night, with gentle breezes coming off the vineyard into the tent. We had a smaller wedding at 115 but the space filled well- I can see how larger groups would fit comfortably but a group our size didn't feel lonely in the space either. Chinese lanterns gave great ambiance and we all appreciated the blacktop floor and real dance floor under the tent- who wants to deal with a dirt floor when you're in formal wear? My groom and I were relaxed all night. Our friends and family enjoyed signature cocktails we had worked with Christine and the Flag Hill spirits to create and the DJ kept the dance floor packed. Christine and her crew kept things organized and out of our sight, she made sure we were where we were supposed to be (ie cake cutting) but never rushed us or interrupted. We enjoyed the the late night french fries and a sparkler exit- details again coordinated by Flag Hill so that we could just enjoy. For an overall wonderful experience my husband and I would recommend the team at Flag Hill. You and the details that are important to you will be taken care of in a beautiful setting by fun and professional people and you'll look back fondly on those memories for years to come. read more

What a cute place! Beautiful grounds, complete with chickens and pigs! Rustic, farm-y feel. The fifth star is for the food. As soy-free vegans (no cashews/peanuts) life gets really interesting at weddings... The meal we had at Flag Hill was just outstanding. So so so amazing. It was a black bean "burger" over fiesta-style rice with a zesty sauce and guacamole. It was like a gourmet Mexican-style entree. The flavors were unique, complementary and amazing. The textures weren't weird, and it was fresh. The portion was giant, there was an appropriate amount of protein. I was so full and happy. Thank you chef, this was just perfect. They have a stunning wedding ceremony area under the shade of some gorgeous old trees up on a hill overlooking the vineyards/fields. The event tents are giant and the string lights are a great touch. There are bathrooms connected to the tents that are a little cramped, but are clean. The main building includes a bridal suite. The staff is friendly and helpful. The wedding planners are seasoned and knowledgeable and want everything to be perfect for you. As for the wine, The Vignoles is very good. I have heard great things about the Marechal Foch. I was impressed with the selection which includes fruit wine, dessert wine and even liquor. I would love to come back for a tasting and a tour. I come here every year when visiting from California. The staff is always friendly and personable. They love sharing tidbits about future offerings as well as tips for enjoying their wines and spirits. Coming from CA, I think their wines are ok. A little dry for my tastes. The fruity liquors are delicious - both on their own and enhanced with other items (ex. Cranberry liquor with lemonade, maple liquor on vanilla ice cream, etc.) Their growing list of spirits is impressive! I first fell in love with their vodka. Then their gin won me over with its hearty herbal overtones. I love the port with a bit of chocolate. The moonshine is a bit strong for my tastes - but it makes for a cool looking gift. A nice bonus is the selection of other local items offered including Jenness Farm goat soaps, Salmon Falls Stonware, Too Tall Tom's seasonings and more. We came in yesterday for a tasting to kick off our anniversary. Very quaint and cute. Being that we stopped in on a Monday afternoon, we ended up being the only people there. Perfect! The blueberry and plum red ended up being our favorites. We decided on the blueberry to take home. We went on a ride to New Hampshire and stopped by Flag Hill Winery. One of the wines I tasted that I really liked was called Niagara and it had a rich grape flavor. I also sampled a few of their liqueurs and found that I liked the raspberry liqueur the best. It was sweet and had a nice berry flavor. This one I would order again. My wife and I spend a short time exploring the Vinyard and all the great colors a perfect day in New England has to offer.
