Since starting the cold plunge daily and sauna sessions 4 times a week I have seen pounds shed off my body and my daily pain levels reduce to almost zero. I have also had deeper sleep leading me to feel recharged in the morning and not fatigued. I showed up early and chatted a little with the man behind the desk about what to expect. He led me to the float room, instructed me on how to use the equipment, and left me to... well... float. I stripped down and hopped into the float pod and the lights dimmed until they were off. The inside of the float pod has a soft light that lets you see just enough to get yourself situated. When I laid down, the experience was like floating on the most gentle, warmest lake you've ever been on. My ears went under the water, but my face stayed above the water. I could only hear my heart beating, but eventually, that faded away until I was just silent. It took me about 5 minutes before I was brave enough to turn off the pod light. When I did, the darkness freaked me out a little. I turned the light back on, gave it a few more minutes, and tried again. My brain really struggled with having zero senses engaged. It caused me to hear things that weren't there, and to "touch" things that weren't there. Not bad things mind you, just the sensation of touching the side of the tank, or the sound of a bump. After about 20 minutes, all of that faded away and there was just nothing. I just was... The first 25 minutes felt like 25 minutes. The next 35 minutes felt like 5 minutes. All of a sudden, the water in the pod started to cycle and my 60 minutes was up. I went back a few weeks later and tried it again. The first 5 minutes felt like 5 minutes, and the next 55 minutes felt like 5 minutes. It was really weird. Both times I exited the pod feeling that euphoria that you typically feel after having a massage. Your body is rested because it's just been floating in salt water for an hour, and your mind is rested because you turned it off for an hour. It's a wonderful experience and I highly recommend it for anyone.

I get massages every 2 weeks, and I usually book a massage when I travel, so I've tried many types of massages in various locations across the states and even Japan. I booked my 90 minute deep tissue massage appointment over the phone; very easy process. They sent me some forms to fill out online in advance and confirmed my appointment. Very professional. My masseuse was Ryan, a young gentleman. He arrived about 15 minutes before my appointment; we actually arrived at the door at the same time. As it was a Saturday, the building where the spa is located was locked, so the front desk admin came to open the door for us when I called. We started our massage session a bit early, which was fine by me. I asked him to focus on my shoulders, which he went right to work on - with VERY intense pressure. Yes, I asked for deep pressure, but it was a bit overkill. He was mainly using his elbows to get under my shoulderblades - this is not very common in massages I've had, so I was a little confused. I asked him to decrease the pressure, which he did, but when he moved to the other side, he returned to the original deep pressure. He also used way too much massage oil, to the point where I felt it dripping across my back. I also noticed that his hands were shaking throughout my massage - it could be a medical condition, so I didn't say anything about it. About 10 minutes into my session, I had to ask for my appointment to be shortened to a 60 minute massage. He barely did any leg massage - could be because I had shortened my session, but he massaged my glutes and then my feet. Which all felt wonderful, but not much massaging of the calves and hamstrings. When he massaged my arms, he just kept going in a circular motion, which felt more like a gentle squeeze than a massage... Overall, I felt that the massage was very unexperienced, something I would expect of someone learning to be a masseuse or massage therapist. If you book a massage here, then perhaps be very specific with your expectations.

You can have a gorgeous spa but if the technicians & products are average then the spa is only as good as your people & products. My facial technician gave me a lymphatic drainage session while 1 mask was on and an arm & hand massage while another mask was on. And the benefits of cryotherapy are REAL. A nasty scar on my leg is healing up after just two sessions - in ways that prescription topical solutions couldn't do for me. But mostly, I feel far less pain as soon as the next day. I routinely work out and I feel that good soreness in my muscles all the time. But I'm also a runner and I feel the not-so-good pain in my knees. All of the aches and pains are gone or greatly diminished as soon as the next day after cryo. I highly recommend this office and the cryo. I promise you won't be disappointed!! (Now I just hope they open another location somewhere near Clearwater!)
