I had my baby shower here. Honestly it was kind of a nightmare, we never got a contract until we met with the male owner for a final walk through and said that what he was telling us was very different from what the female owner told us. When we questioned him he kept reiterating "read your contract." and we kept telling him we never got one. Just FYI (owners are husband and wife) Event space alone is $400 plus a $250 cleaning fee if room is not put back or how they like. When we arrived there was still glitter on the floor and all over from the previous party. While having the party many customers kept walking through. They had music blaring in the event space, there was no option to change it to what we wanted only to turn it down. We had to ask female owner several times over 45 minutes for tables in the event room. Food arrived at 12:00 pm an hour early. So they took the food back and then brought it back out at 1:00 pm. So some of it was hard. We had meatballs, mozzarella sticks and toasted ravioli. Our waitress was great only reason for the three stars, Thank you Z! Enjoy your goodie bag. There is an option to open the side door in the event space to go outside which has games. Reply to owner: Starting with your firstly: this again goes with what I mentioned previously with different information. This was never offered to us. Secondly: The email was correct they were never sent. Email was confirmed. Thirdly: When the visit did occur music was never on. I personally visited numerous times and never ever heard music in the room. You were not instructed this. I asked multiple people for tables thankfully the caters took care of it. However you were no where to be found, the host mentioned this several times looking for tables, I went to the bar and asked both bartenders. Your reply did not clear anything up. Instead showed lack of accountability. Especially since you and your husband - the owners - were never on the same page and continued giving different information. I finally made it to Chillax. The stuff was really nice and patient to answer all my questions. They didn't even hesitate to dry off a table for us on the outside patio. I liked that there are speakers on patio to hear the music playing. I ordered the shrimp and grits plus a side of grilled catfish. My cousin ordered fried catfish (in place of fried chicken) and waffles. The menu mentioned their tarter sauce is famous so I had to try it and I can see why it's famous. The food was good and it's a great atmosphere. Now you do have to stand in line to order your food. Then they give you a number for them to bring the food out to you. The food comes out on plates but you have to grab plastic cutlery, condiments, and water from the inside. I would have given 5 stars if I could ordered from my table. Wow, we really needed this business model in the Harvester area! I've lived 5 minutes from here most of my life and this location has had many businesses that failed. Sadly. I don't see that happening with Chillax! This place is a total vibe and all are welcome. It has an appropriately chill brew pub atmosphere with an indoor/outdoor seating area, a nice patio out back and a pet friendly picnic area out front. There is a large selection of local draft beers, a couple of ciders, and a full bar. Frozen Margarita anyone? The food situation is a bit different with Vails Brothers seemingly permanently installed for food service. Check out the Vails Brothers website for a menu. I've had the BEST whole fried chicken wings (honey hot is my favorite sauce), the fried jumbo butterflied shrimp (truly huge) and the side salad. Everything was fried to perfection and their breading is SO flavorful! Their sauces and dressings are homemade and are so good! The best tartar sauce I've ever had. After sampling Parker Pilsner, a Marzen, a double hopped IPA and a NE IPA I moved on to a pint of the Stone 27th Anniversary brew.
