I should start by saying I was impressed by both the response time and the price given me by China's. (Pronounced Chee.mahs) Chima's was not my first call. My first call was to a company closer to where my vehicle became disabled. They have an automated answering service, which gave me the opportunity to speak to a live operator. They took my information and said they would locate a tow truck. I waited on the phone for 10 minutes and never heard back from them so I finally hung up. I then called Chima's. The gentleman who answered the phone was very friendly. He asked me all the necessary questions, where the vehicle was located (he knew the exact spot) and where it was to be towed to. He said they had a truck available and it would be to me within 30 minutes. Rick arrived in less than 25 minutes! He was friendly and efficient. He loaded my vehicle and we were off. We had an enjoyable conversation all the way to my home. Rick offloaded my vehicle. He was professional, courteous, and friendly. And their price was $75 less than the first tow company I called. The beginning of the next week I will need to have the vehicle towed to the dealer. I told Rick I would be Chima's to have them tow the vehicle because of the excellent experience I had with them. Don't even try to ask them any questions regarding anything because they will run you in circles. I (a 27 year old woman) tried to have a civil conversation with the older woman in the front and she literally answered phone calls in the middle of me asking a question just to avoid answering! Coming home from lake Berryessa on a Sunday my 26ft toy hauler had a wheel bearing fail and the rear wheel and hub came off the axle and made the trailer very hard to move anywhere. It being a toy hauler it's somewhat tall. After my insurance (Gieco) was no help whatsoever. And no local area wreckers could Handel the job Chimas was able to show up with a flatbed slide axle trailer within a few hrs of the call. The driver Robert was top notch really knew his job. Clearance was going to be a possible issue so he took the extra steps to get my trailer home safely and had no issue taking on this challenging job. They towed into their yard May 2, 2024 and and I paid them the $2000 and police release fee to get my dead dad's RV back after it was stolen. Update from the the previous review - I still don't have it back even though they're review people said they gave it back. Later when I had no more money they offered to take it out of the yard but when I told them I didn't have anymore money I never heard back from them. And they didn't give me back my money and I'm disputing the charges and they are still trying to say they deserve it and they fulfilled the services. I'm sorry but unless I paid them $2000 to steal my property they did not fulfill the services. They only deserve the money if they give it back, otherwise they sell it to all those people who are happy to buy the vehicles they towed into the yard that the owner never got back to pay the tow fees. If I could make this 0 stars i would! This LOL is the most unprofessional and unorganized place I've ever dealt with! My sons motorcycle was towed on Thursday night. I called this morning to check the address for the location of where they took this motorcycle. I was sent all the way to Franklin California when in fact it was actually off of Power Inn Boulevard (i started in carmichael) . And then the stupid witch that answered the phone said oh and what do you want me to do about it sorry(with a laugh in her voice). These guys are so legit. On my way back to the Bay Area this morning, I was involved in a four-car accident on 99. The person who caused the accident and the one driving another car involved walked away just fine with cosmetic damage to their cars. I wasn't so lucky. My car, as well as the other car involved, were both totaled. After the reports were taken and statements were made, two workers from Chima's Towing arrived in their trucks. They took me and my car (RIP Blake) to a parking lot. The driver of my truck empathized with me about losing a car, but told me how much more important it is that I'm alive. It was like on-site trauma and shock counseling. When we arrived in the lot, they lowered my car. Both employees helped me empty my belongings out of my car before taking it to the tow yard. They talked with me and stuck around until a friend came to pick me up. Both were personable, and sweet, and helped me keep calm. The downside? What these guys neglected to do was communicate to me that 1) I had the option of having my car towed anywhere, not just to their yard and 2) They would be charging fees piled upon fees for me to store it there. Add to that the fact that my insurance company took five days to actually get out to see the car and assess the damage, and what you have is $500+ in storage fees that I couldn't afford and my insurance company refused to cover. NOT COOL. We were able to come to an agreement in which I turned over the pink slip of my car and paid them $200 (PAYING THEM TO TAKE A TOTALED CAR OFF MY HANDS?!) in exchange for them removing all the fees. Begrudgingly, I drove to Sacramento to what may be the jankiest looking business front ever, and did exactly that. So yes, while they came to my rescue, they also cost me extra money and time and grief. So in the end, Chimas isn't bad, but it isn't all that great. read more

My RV was towed, and they are charging $700. When I called to speak with them to find out costs so I could come get it out on Friday(pay day). I wasn't able to secure a new place to store the RV until Saturday, and did not want it to get towed again parking it on the street. Company does not list hours of operation on their website or on their business listing. I called on Friday at 3:27pm and asked if they were open tomorrow, meaning Saturday. The female that answered the phone told me they were. When I asked what time, she responded 8am. When I called Saturday morning at 8:05, the female that answered the phone said they don't open until Monday. She was extremely rude, and stated that they are never open on the weekends, as if I should know that. This is the exact reason I called and asked yesterday. I called this place to set up an equipment recovery for my company today and spoke with one of the rudest people I've ever encountered. She asked what I needed and when I started explaining she cut me off by obnoxiously laughing then hung up the phone. Even a simple "sorry, no we are not able to assist" would do just fine. I called the other Chima's location expecting since it was a different phone number and city that I would get someone different. It was the same rude ass dispatcher and she hung up on me again. If you have to make two or more trips back to your rental car, they said it was their property and policy to forbid you back on the property. We showed the ID first by which we were given access to our vehicle. Your employees tried to prevent us from getting all of our belongings out of our car citing a company policy that was not posted or visible to customers. In fact, your company prevented me from getting my disability items. We had to call the police on your employees for our protection and to protect our rights afforded by the law. Cease with the lies. Read all of the negative reviews. We had to call the police on your harassing employees. When the police arrived, the harassment ceased and we were allowed to get our personal items. It's a damn shame we had to call the police due to harassment and violation of the law. The insurance company will obtain my disability items. It was 100°, I was running out of water and my phone was low on battery. My insurance roadside service was having a hard time locating a tow truck service that would transport me and my car to another town 45 minutes away on a Sunday. After waiting for hours, Chima's took the job. Terry arrived and dutifully and professionally went to work loading my car securely on the flatbed. He assured me that all would be fine. After delivering my car to the dealership, Terry had the night drop off paperwork in hand and with the vin number ready. I was unable to secure an Uber or Lyft in the area, so he volunteered to drive me the extra 20 minutes to my home instead of leaving me alone in a parking lot with the evening light dwindling. CHP HAD TO CALL THESE GUYS.... Got into a wreck and was taken to the hospital in the ambulance so my car was on the side of the freeway and had to be towed. A few days later my insurance company called me and told me to that my car was at Chima's Towing and 8021 19th Avenue and to go there to get my personal belongings out of my car. I got there around 12:35 and it was lunch and I was told by a sign that they will be back at 1:00. I come back at 1:05 and no one is there. Eventually someone in the tow yard sees us and tells someone to get me. After making a copy of my ID they led to my car. Looks like whoever towed my car rummaged through it and took my valuables. Our original call was handled very rudely. However when I saw that I was going to save $90 compared to the guy on the next block from me I called back. I only had to go 3 blocks away! The driver arrived quickly AND quickly hooked up my truck AND professionally put it right where I wanted it when we arrived at my home. It was late and very cold and I was a little grouchy myself and I'm pretty sure I woke him up. Rv fuel pump failed in front of my house (thankfully). They showed up with a great big tow vehicle to retrieve the rv (32 foot class A). Stored it in their site lot for the night because I couldn't leave it in the street near my house, and no repair facility open to receive it for two days. Iran (tow driver) did a great job with recovery and towing. First class. Only downside was the wait on the dispatch (not entirely controllable, and based on demand and priority).
