After diagnosing our issues, he suggested that it would be better to replace our entire unit instead of very old parts, understandable. He was supposed to come back to give tutorial on gas logs he installed and cover chimney, we were ghosted. Not reliable and I feel we were overcharged. This company is definitely not recommended. A deposit was paid in March 2022 for a chimney cap. As of the end of November 2022, the cap has not been installed. James bounces from not replying to requests for updates or simply lies by offering dates that are never kept. I'm a contractor and was given James Black's card by a real estate agent. I do not ever leave reviews, but promised James I would... James came out to repair a fireplace, the next day the repair he made was cracking everywhere. I called and texted him for weeks to come back and fix it. I really hate to do these reviews, but I need to warn others as I have not received my money back $825.00. He seemed like a great guy. I have been trying to get gas logs installed and weatherization in my chimney since early March. I have given Chimney Pro plenty of opportunities to complete the work. Now I have asked for a refund for the last 2 weeks and he does not answer his texts or phone calls. 10/7/2021 James Black from Chimney Pro came to my home, showed me a catalog for chimney repairing and picked up $785 deposit. 10/8/2021 he deposited money to bank, waited until the fund available in account late days and then scheduled repairing date on 11/2/2021. He missed schedule on 11/2/2021 with excuse of unreceived custom chase cover next day. He said he would send an email to store in Pennsylvania where to make it. 11/4/2021 James replied my text message and said it was busiest time but he didn't forget me and would let me know when chase cover comes. since then he didn't reply my text messages and emails until 11/10/2021. 11/10/2021 he sent an email with attached pdf files without explanation. The files seemly showed lead time for several manufacturers. Since then he did not respond my text messages and emails again until Nov. 26, 2021. He said it's holiday weekend. If I want refund, he would gladly get the process going on. So I told him I want refund. He said I would receive refund before February, 2022. It was last info received from him. If I could rate this company no star I would. I contacted the owner of Chimney Pro LLC James Black, On 1/10/18 to service on my gas fire place in regards that my fireplace would light but not ignite. I have to click it on and off several times in order to get it to work. On 1/15/2018 Chimney Pro showed and was on time. I paid $165 dollars for service to my fireplace. I was told the worst case scenario I would need a sensor $170. There would be no charge to install this part and my receipt is good for the rest of the year to call back if any problems occur. 48 hrs later the fire place was no longer working at all. I contacted Chimney Pro several times by phone and received no call back. I emailed the company and left a message on the website and finally got this email from him on 2/7/18.
