I struggled with this review as my ratings skew toward the quality of the food. After all, freshly prepared ingredients seasoned with the right mix of spices, properly cooked and plated is the experience we are looking for away from our own kitchen. In this case, I was unimpressed with the flavor of the hot and sour soup, egg drop soup and Kung Pao Chicken. Other elements of the dining experience rated better. My suggestion is to try it out if you love Chinese food. If you like the food quality, you'll love the price. Whatever my dad ordered, they didn't have. My dad also has an annoying habit of ordering stuff that's not on the menu, as if they have all these off the menu ingredients ready and would somehow cook it just for him. My parents kept on looking longingly at a table nearby that ordered eggplants. That was the last of the eggplants for the evening, and my parents were crushed. Eggplants, that's all they wanted. We settled on kung pao chicken, vegetable beef, and mushroom shrimp. All three dishes tasted exactly the same. They asked us if we wanted spicy and we requested a tiny bit spicy. It was really really spicy. I was panting and drinking water and mixing sugar into the food. The waiter was polite and friendly. But I'd go to Hibachi over this any day. read more

The young man at the host's stand couldn't answer basic questions about items on the menu and then when my food came, it sat on the counter for 10 minutes while the host was more interested in playing on his cell phone than letting me know my food had arrived and letting me be on my way. I eventually had to interrupt him and verify that my order was ready and please ask for it. The Thai spicy basil was also underwhelming, as there was no basil to be found in my dish. The flavor was decent overall though. The accompanying fried rice ($1 upcharge) was plain, unadorned by any vegetables, and pretty bland. Some of the best Chinese food in Montgomery. I enjoy going here for lunch and getting their lunch combos. They start you out with the starter fried crisps with their special sauce, which is extremely tasty. Next you get a hot soup. This always pairs well with your egg roll that you also get. Next comes the main course which is a lot food. I love the general tso chicken. I leave usually with a to go plate since there is so much food. This used to be such a great place. The food was always fresh and the wait staff very friendly. These were the days when the water features within the place worked. I am not sure what has happened. I have fought hard to not listen to others that said that there was a definite air of rudeness. I have noticed the pride in the food also diminish. I only get the basics there now. After discovering that the Chin Chin menu includes a vegetarian selection I wanted to check it out. One Sunday afternoon I got my chance. The décor is very nice and relaxing. We were seated right away, but realized right away that our server spoke English as a second language. Though he was nice and good about getting our tea out right away he did not understand any special requests I was asking about. I thought he understood my request for an appetizer, but what came to our table was not at all what I wanted. That was disappointing. I was excited about all the vegetarian options, but was disappointed again when the server informed me that they didn't have the main ingredient for half of the menu items. Bummer! I ended up substituting bean curd in the kug pao dish with brown rice and it was delicious! The veggie and sauce were all great! I can't wait to go back to try other dishes. My fiancé & I live very close & decided to give Chin Chin a try, and it was WELL WORTH IT! Chin Chin has something for everyone from Chinese, to Japanese, to Thai, and even sushi. When we try a new place we taste a little bit of everything to see if it's good, and Chin Chin definitely was! When you sit down they greet you with those fried chips and sauce & always give you fortune cookies at the end of your meal. We split a spring roll appetizer and it was beautifully presented while being very good! We also split a spicy tuna roll, which was very good and fresh! I am not a big Thai fan, but my fiancé had it one time before there and said it was the best in town. I got hibachi jumbo shrimp, which came with a salad and miso soup, and every part of the meal was very good! He had a Chinese dish of beef fried rice and it was very tasty too! In all, this place has amazing food, especially for the prices! The restaurant has a 100 rating for cleanliness and is decorated very nicely with a modern feel. Just ordered delivery, so once I go in I may rate even higher. Food was excellent and fresh! No frozen peas and carrots or canned baby corn crap in these dishes. I had the garlic chicken and it was a 5. Also ordered a dynamite roll and it was as good as it gets, large prawn tail included. Delivery driver was prompt and very polite. Chin Chin have been one of my go to restaurant for Chinese sit down foods with great atmosphere. As always we order Hot and Sour Seafood Soup (one of my favorite) and Shrimp Tempura. They are good as always and very consistent. For our entrees we order Tangerine Beef and Happy Family dishes. They are very delicious and well prepared. As full as I was with our meal I wish I have gotten the Seafood Hotpot which is one of my favorite entree. It's a must tried if you ever come try the place out. The service is friendly and helpful!.. The hostess clearly did not care or was she in clothing that would say she was a hostess, black yoga pants and a leopard print tiny belly high jacket. The first thing I liked about this place was its variety. Japanese hibachi, sushi, Chinese, and Thai. I love Pad Thai and had to try it. It's the best I've had in Montgomery since I moved here. I also have tried the fried rice which is delicious. They use white rice instead of yellow rice used by some places. My fiancé tried the spicy tuna roll and the hibachi shrimp. Both were excellent. I hope more people try this place and love it because this spot in this particular shopping area has not been too kind to restaurants. I love this place and hope it is here to stay. read more

Food here has always been good but pretty bad experience tonight. Used the online system to place a takeout order. My teenage daughter went to pick it up and lady at front was incredibly rude. On top of that she had to was twenty minutes for an order that was placed twenty minutes before she got there to pick it up. Don't care how good food is, won't be back after that experience. This was my first time ordering from Chin Chin. I must say I was thoroughly disappointed. I'm not sure what goes on over there, but they fouled up my order big time. I made four simple requests (medium cook on my steak, include a large cup of salad dressing, extra soy sauce on my vegetables, and no ice in my tea). Apparently that was lost in translation because I got ice in my tea, extra vegetables instead of extra soy sauce on them, way overdone steak, and ginger sauce instead of extra salad dressing. I didn't have time to check my order before leaving, so I discovered everything that was wrong once I got it home. I would not have complained about the extra vegetables if they actually had flavor, but they didn't. Overall the food was bland. Once I doctored up the food a bit, it was decent, but not worth the $40+ I paid for it. From this point forward I will drive the 90 minutes to Banzai in Lagrange, GA when I want Hibachi Steak & Shrimp because they have NEVER fouled up my order in the 8 years I've gone there. read more

We ordered each ordered an egg roll, but the waitress misunderstood us and brought us each an order of egg rolls, which was two rolls to an order. The presentation was nice -- each roll was cut on the bias and served with sweet and sour sauce. The egg rolls had a good, hearty filling that was pleasing, if a touch too peppery. The General Tso's chicken had a rich, sweet brown sauce with a nice hint of spice. It was plated with broccoli and zucchini, which I've never seen before. My husband ordered the sesame chicken, which had a good flavor but was a little bland, especially compared to my dish. We've been trying to find a good sushi spot since moving to Montgomery. Decided to try Chin Chin since it's in such an easy accessible area. Let me tell you, that was a mistake. Their sushi rolls contain six pieces (unlike every other sushi restaurant I've ever tried that serves 8 pieces per roll), but they charge the same price as other restaurants. The actual pieces of sushi were very small too, so the $40 price tag we paid was DEFINITELY NOT worth it. The quality of the sushi was just okay - nothing to write home about. I am very disappointed with Chin Chin after giving it a try of 10 times. We order the same thing each time-tofu lettuce wraps and Singapore rice noodles. We are charged differently on different days varying from 19 to 24. My spouse wants his noodles dry and they cannot get it right. I always say no nuts since I am allergic, but was given a large amount of pine nuts tonight on my lettuce wraps. Their person at the front , Tiffany, does not care. Her attitude shows when I place an order. We would have returned the food tonight but were too tired. Chin Chin is very inconsistent and dangerous to my health. read more
