Fast service. Very clean. Food is not greasy. Flavors are interesting and not over spiced. Cooked to my expectation. My only complaint is that when calling in an order and desiring to adjust a menu item I've been put on hold for every single question. This has happened each time I've ordered so it's not just one worker who is new. I do really appreciate the accommodation each time! And I'm grateful. Sauces, ingredients, presentation are all fresh and This place reminds me of some of the best Chinese take out places I've visited around the country. The difference here is the degree of kindness and friendly disposition that pushes it up above most that I've visited. I've always bragged about Kings kitchen. But today's experience put a bad taste in my mouth. Check your food before leaving. Make sure the order is correct. Because, Once you get home and you figure out it's not correct, They basically call you a liar. My mom ordered Orange and I ordered General. They ended up being both General. After 3 calls the restaurant made back to use. Nothing was done about it. But the lady, making the calls to us, said the owner was the one that bagged our food, and our order was correct. I'd give this place zero stars if I could. I ordered their mei fun before and it was incredibly bland and oily. Their dumplings were super rubbery, which is REALLY weird. Like how can dumplings be rubbery unless uh, they froze it overnight and cooked it straight out the freezer without even defrosting. Gross. Sadly, I know this restaurant won't be affected by my review since there is literally no competition for Chinese take-out in South Asheville. However, if you are in the mood for quality Asian food, drive 2 miles down and order from Pacific Pagoda (it's a Chinese/Japanese fushion restaurant so they do have plenty of Chinese dishes on their take-out menu). The staff there speaks English, Chinese, and Fujianese fluently. For those of you lucky enough to be in West Asheville, I highly recommend take-out from China Taste. The owners of China Taste relocated here from New York (where the competition for quality Chinese food is tough), so you know they've got experience with quality. read more

been going yo King Kitchen for over 8 years , love them and there food is always delicious and portions are great . reason only for the 4 star as to what they should get is a 5 is because 2 weeks ago we ordered 1 on-tray and a few egg rolls . my partner had after eating really bad indigestion and lasted the evening and i was fine till next morning and i vomited four times in the morning and a few in the afternoon and the next day I didn't want to eat anything so all this could've been a coincidence but the fact that we both got sick as telling me it was not a coincidence so I will try King again as I think they truly deserve a second chance. We paid over $2 extra for noodles instead of rice. There was only an extremely scant portion of noodles. The first photo is an example of 3 large pieces (OUT OF MANY) with (NO CHICKEN) inside!!! Just large clods of dough. The following photos show a before and after cutting into a large clod of nugget. It is nearly all heavy thick chewy coating with a sliver of chicken!!! Absolutely our go to place for Chinese on the south side. Crisp and crunchy spring rolls, their other rolls are a bit greasy for me so I get the smaller ones. By far my favorite Chinese food place I have found in the Asheville area. Their tofu is so delicious and they have nailed their sauces. Not greasy and delicious every time I go. This is a followup to my review of August 2016. Since our first visit, we've been back for take-out maybe 8-10 times. Very impressed with the consistency and the amazingly reasonable prices compared with some of the grossly overpriced Asian buffets in town (not naming any names). I usually get the cashew shrimp (minus the mushrooms) and the Kung Pao Shrimp was good as well and carried a kick. My girlfriend is sold on the Szechuan Shrimp. I generally get the cashew chicken and chicken fried rice and they are both reasonable.The seafood is good, but not amazing due to lots of filler items. The cashew chicken has a little too much celery in it as well for my taste, but its still not bad. The price could use some tweeking on the seafood specifically off the top of my head, but there are lots of cheaper alternatives. This is always a quick place to go in a pinch. This has to be one of my favorite chinese places in the Asheville area. The food is affordable, fast, and absolutely delicious. An issue I have frequently at certain places is that the rice and meat (whichever you fancy for an entree) is usually dried out, but not here! Pretty solid chinese food restaurant for takeout. They earn points from me for nailing one critical thing - the rice. Their steamed rice has consistently been moist and well-cooked. I can't stand when I get dry inedible rice from a Chinese restaurant, so thank goodness King Kitchen has good rice, the base to all food! I recommend the Mongolian Beef. Great prices and great cheap Chinese food. It's the Americanized Chinese food, but a great stop if you're craving cheap Asian. We tried the sesame chicken and garlic chicken.
